Problem of suffering with Ureteric stones

i am suffering with problem of Ureteric stone of 1.2 cm near urinary bladder. Had severe pain two days back. When consulted doctor, he suggested to have medicines for few days and then will scan again. If the stone still exists then he advised to operata crushing to remove the stone. Presently i am taking medicines and lots of water as suggested by doctor. 

I request you to let me know any home made tips / suggestions that can be followed to avoid the crushing.
