Found this nice recipe for making doughnuts at home...
Maida - 1 cup
Dry Yeast - 1 teaspoon
Warm Water - 3 tbsp
Sugar - 3 tbsp
Butter - 1 tbsp
Salt 0 1/2 tsp
Milk - 1/2 cup
Vanilla essence 0 1/2 tsp
SIeve the maida thrice.
Mix 1 tbsp of sugar in 3 tbsp of lukewarm water and add the dry yeast. Keep it aside till the mixture becomes frothy.
Add the yeast mix to maida with salt, sugar and vanilla essence , mix milk gradually to make asoft dough.
Add the softened butter and keep working on the dough for 10 mins. Keep it near a warm area, (Pref. near the stpve in the kitchen) and let the dough rise double in volume appr 30 - 40 mins.
Roll the dough into a flat surface and spread with a rolling pin. Using a small katori cut rounds, reuse the dough till you get enough rounds.
Using your thumb make depressioin and a hole in all the rounds in the middle. Let the dougnuts rise again for another 20 mins.
Deep fry in oil and sprinkle icing sugar and serve the kids...!

Yeah... all the best... but see that the yeast gets ferment properly.... I mean leave it aside it till you see it nice and frothy
