This is in resoonse to the many aspirjng parents who sent me a private email :- My sons (in Grade 5 this year and Grade 11) are happy in Isha that's what i can say but having said that that is something you cannot generalise. You know your child better so you are the best judge of how best your child will adapt to the environment( no phone/no gadgets/livings without parents/only one parent visit per term/no random visitors allowed apart from the scheduled parent visit.) So please have a discussion with your child instead of asking a different child's parent...this really doesnt help although it might just give you some solace knowing that the 10 ppl you asked all their kids are happy in Isha. Before the oriemtaton I let him read the Isha Blog and see some you tube videos that are there on Isha home school, let him get a sense of what is it about. Secondly no parent can advise what is the process of acceptance and how much time they will take to approve/reject. There is simple no connection ( you might be the who's who or be the nect of kin of an imp person) that works..i have known of people who's one kid is in IHS and second did not get through so  an existing IHS parent cant really say what works and what doesnt. Probably the interviewers are seasoned to look deep n see whether the kid is really interested to live in that set and will be able to adjust. Likewise whether the parents are looking for just another boarding school or have researched well n truly believe in what IHS stands for and believes in the school's vision. https://ishahomeschool.org/entry-requirements/ This is the only place to look for for authentic information about the school. Please bookmark it and find your answers here. For questions as aswell its best to hear from the horses mouth...fees etc also changes every year so asking aspiring or existing IHS parents as they would be sharing their experience of whenever their child entered school which might be of little relevance to you. Please use google better and research from authentic sources. Write to the people in charge at admissions@ishahomeschool.org You may want to use the blog feature to know more about the school. https://ishahomeschool.org/blog/ Hope this helps you approach this in a better way.

1787mith 2020-02-23 21:15:14

Hi We got an email today ..unfortunately my daughter got rejected..we applied for grade 3

VINKEN 2020-02-24 13:14:18

same here. My kid too didnt get selected.
reasons unknown.
Actually her age will be 6.8 yr by june.
what they asked was min 7 years.

can any one guide me :
shall i repeat her 1st grade and try again at IHS for second grade.

vs4tree 2020-02-24 15:05:09

Hi Vinutha. I am sorry to hear. You should try next year too but not sure if you should repeat 1st grade. You can put you child in the 2nd grade and before placing the application next year, drop an email to them asking if your child would qualify for grade 2 or 3. If it's grade 2 and your kid gets selected, then you can repeat grade 2 then. That's my opinion. All the very best Ÿ™ We are still waiting for the results. Hoping for the best.

VINKEN 2020-02-24 16:00:30

Oh thanks for your reply.
Thats a good idea to repeat 2nd grade at ISHA than repeating now.
Update your results. wish you the best

Bhartgoyal 2020-02-24 21:26:56

Hi! I would like to tell you about our 2 experiences.

1.My son will be around 6.5 Yrs in June and he is still selected for Class 2. Actually they mentioned during the interaction that he is under age but they said if the child can adjust to changing environment, it is not big a deal. I think during the interaction they try to judge, whether the child will be able to adapt to the school or not.

2. I had applied for my daughter as well in class 3. Although she is in Class 3 and would come in Class 4, still we applied for Class 3 since the admissions were not open in class 4. She got rejected as she should be in Class 4 and the admissions are not open in that specific class. IHS definitely looks at the age and learning levels of the child and does not believe in repetition only for the sake of admission.

I mentioned both the cases so that you can take an informed decision. It is very difficult to say what suits for the admission in IHS. I was lucky that my son got selected and I hope he makes good use of the opportunity.

Regards

My daughter also did not get into IHS for grade 3. What reason they have given for you all?

1787mith 2020-02-25 10:37:46

Reason- they just said that the seats are limited.

VINKEN 2020-02-25 12:30:40

VINKEN 2020-02-25 12:31:31

IHS AdmissionsSun, Feb 23, 4:23 PM (2 days ago)to me, VinuthaNamaskaram,

After careful consideration, we regret to inform you that we are unable to grant admission to your child.

We had very limited seats and hence we were unable to consider your child.

We wish you and your child every success for the future.
