Hi there , I really want my child to go Isha homeschool as I want to be a full-time volunteer when she turns 13. I am wondering if it's easy to get into the school since it depends on seats available for that particular year. Thanks ! I hope when the time comes my daughter will like it . If the child is having separation anxiety during the interview process will they reject my application then on that basis?

omg123 2021-02-17 18:52:39

Anybody got the results today?

Happy80 2021-02-17 19:57:10

Thanks.

@ Pari77 Since 8th grade is a standard entry, it should be relatively easy for your daughter to get in if she really does want to. There are around 50 seats each year I think. As for separation anxiety, if she is very anxious about it then I think that they do take that into consideration as there is only one parent visit per term and no phone calls except on birthday. However, if they think she will be okay then it shouldn't be a problem.

Heartly congrats to those who got admission till now and best of luck to others. It will be a new gen who will be spiritualy indendent. And in the way of making a spiritual world.

Thanks for the reply Ÿ˜Š..wasn't expecting one ..was trying my luck anyway ...must be universal grace Ÿ™..just another question ..if the places are limited ..how is it that there will be so many seats available ? Won't the children who had started earlier move on into year 8 as well .I was assuming if a child pulls out then a seat becomes available etc. all my thoughts are on Isha homeschool and how I can help my daughter be on that path as well..and be part of the solution . I truly feel the current education system in Msia at least is squeezing the joy out of kids ..and unlike India we don't have alternate education system beside being homeschooled privately and thus depriving them of socialising with other kids .

Pari77 2021-02-17 21:29:38

Congrats you must be so happy , how did your child feel initially as to stay away from home etc? Is it a norm for kids in India to be sent to boarding school. It is a rarity in Msia.

1minal2 2021-02-17 22:26:26

No problem @Pari 77. For IHS, there are 4 standard entry points, 2nd grade, 5th grade, 8th grade, and 11th grade. For these grade levels, they take 50 new kids out 100 or so applicants regardless of any drop outs. The kids who started earlier will move onto 8th grade but they add more. For the other grade levels, you can only get admission if someone drops out.

As for my child, she is anxious about being separated since it has never happened before. But she thinks that since she can send emails and letters and visit us during breaks, she will be fine. I don't think many kids go to boarding school in India before 12th grade but I might be wrong.

Hope this helps
