Hai, Did anyone know about Isha Home school? pls. give me details of the schooling and fee structure.
Hi Kumudh,
You can get these details from their website http://ishahomeschool.org. They got a few videos on youtube too! From what I heard last time, there is a one time refundable deposit and per annum tuition fee. The deposit was something like a lac... Diff fee structure for NRIs.
Hi All
I am new to the parentree. And about Isha Home school, School is very nice and they are following Vertical age group system. And the fees is little higher side but they are doing justice to what they are charging. It is not like a normal boarding school. Totally new concept called home school Where the kid can Explore many thing. I am very much satisfied about my Daughter. This is her second year there.
Anu
Dear anu,
Can u tell what is selection procedure? Is the fees will be increased every year? In their website they didn't mentioned about the fees, So what is the fees they charge? Which class ur daughter is studying there? Cos' my daughter is in 1st std now and she is 6 yrs. old. Is it ok to put such a small child in boarding school? Do u daughter miss you? Pls. do reply.
ThankU
Kumudh
Dear Kumudh
You can find most of the information from the school site itself. You need get the Admisiion form by the end of december. And the selectiong process will be in the month of March. There will be Group selection process for kids. Mainly to notice how they are mingling with other kids. On the day of selection whole day the kid with be with them. we dont need to follow them. They will give some activities for them like colouring and puzzles kind of thing (I am telling this for Junior school only)..And they will observe the kid. And food also they will give.
Interview will be for parents only. How much you are preparing your self for leaving your child there. This is totally new concept with no exams and Ranking methods. And you should be ready for this. Because We all are thinking Education is getting marks. But it is not like that.
Fees would be around 1.7 per year. I am not sure about the increase every year.
And caustion deposit is 1.3L .
When I sent my daughter there she was only 5.7. But it was a long process.we took her to see and enjoy the place thrice before putting her there. It was not a sudden surprise for her. She came and explore everthing there. After she said ok only we put her there. She is in Junior school. Now she is very well enjoying there. She writes letters to me.
My opinion is instead of getting info like this..It is better to go there once. You can call the Home school office and fix an appointment to visit the school. Take your daughter also. let her feel the place.
Thx
Anu
It is a nice school, but if you are looking for your kid (or if your kid likes it ) to be mugging up and vomiting all subjects then this is not for him/her. The emphasis on the fundamentals and not rote learning, .Let me be honest. They may not become engineers/doctors as you want/expect but will enjoy doing whatever they do.
They also do not have the facilities or the oomph as compared to the nearby Chinmaya or other prominent boarding schools in India as they are recently established (although it is not that easy to get in as well). But again, it depends on you belief in their teaching methods The guru's influence on the school's day to day activity is fairly minimal. Teachers/Home parents are there because they enjoy being there. Without their genuine interest this kindof model will not work.
The closest they would come to is Rishi Valley in madanapalle, but again they are well established and believe in an aethist ideology . Not bad but just a personal preference for people. If I had not found this one for my son, then I would have tried Rishi Valley. So far he is liking it and planning to continue.
Hello Dineshr
I too agree with your points. Even I was very much keen in putting my daughter in Rishi valley. But they have only from 4th std. We thought I will be too late once they kid grows we dont know how they will adjust to new place. They might not want to leave their school and friends. So We decided this school.
Can I know In which house your son belongs? My daughter is in Jajiji house .
Anu

Hello everyone,
We live in England are quite keen on the idea of sending our two boys to Isha. They are 6 and 4 now. Would anybody kindly advise how different the fees are for the NRI’s .And how about mid term holidays, would any please say when these holidays are and for how long.. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Hi
The fees for Indian students is around 1.85L per year. I am not sure about NRI fees. But I am sure there is little difference . You can contact the office about or send mail to them. You can check there website for more details.
Regarding term holidays..Term I generally starts by June 1st week and will be over by 3rd week of October. (this time it is Oct 22) ..They will re open on Nov last (30th)..
And next term end will be by April 2nd week. (till June)..In between u can visit them for 2 days in each term.
If you want more details contact them and fix an appointment and visit the school person. Than only u can experience it

my son joined in ihs in 11 th std on 5/06/2011.I have been to ihs on 4/08 for term visit.Though i am not the follower of sadguru i joined my son because of environment. When i went for term visit i was thrilled of my kid's progress. Most of the faculty are iitans and ph.d holders.Their teaching methods are excellent.Besides studies they have various clubs for music, dance, drama, kalaripayyattu, debating, film appreciation etc. They won't follow specific timetable and no holidays on sundays.Insted of that they give 11/2 day time to participate in extracurricular activities.Hostels are called houses for higher class students from 8 to 12 stds and look after by houseparents who resides in that houses. The food is vegetarian(eggs served)and very nutritious.Even here the won't follow specific menu.Children are encouraged to write letters to parents.(e-mails also)If anyone wants the conceptual studies and overall development of one's child, this school is for you. This time i wanna attend inner engineering retreat. For furthur querries contact 9603383385
