Brill Adith

yes me too undergoing all sorts of experiences regarding the pre schooling. Love to meet you on Mon , when we gear up for the first parents -teachers meet.

BrillAdith 2011-07-05 12:31:12

Hi Jithuri,

It was nice meeting up with you y'day. The PT meet also went on fine. Only point was copying the rhymes down. That was a unique experience. They could have given print-outs, since for some the lyrics differ, like, here we go round the mango tree........ Do you hold the lyrics in soft ( i did check the web and copied few) for me to re-check. I need to check for the following:

1. 10 lil fingers: a total of 8 paras, is what i got from the net. Not sure if all are there in the sylabbus.

2. Clap your hands: starts with clap your hands.............wave your hand

3. Here we (a)round the mango tree

4. Clap clap clap ( not found in web):

5. Where is thumbkin: 1. Thumbkin, 2. Pointer3.Tall man

6. Put your finger on your cheek: cheek, air, on your head, on your nose, on

jithuri 2011-07-05 14:24:14

yep very nice to meet you yesterday. the PT meet was informative and helpful. Am taking things in good spirits that  whatever the teacher says is all for the good of the child in the long run.

Coming to rhymes some of them are exclusively taught in PSBB only and slightly different from the usual ones we see in books, net or at other schools. I have made a note of her rhymes and will pm you. It seems they have a set of rhymes that is spread over the three terms and may  be taught in different order in different sections. But the thirsty crow story seems be be the same for the full year.

Any other doubts you have please feel free to call me up.

Thanks and cheers.

Hi Guys,

Really nice to meet and know other moms. I am away on travel for official pupose and my husband couldnt make it to PT meeting. Wonder if there is a way to get to know the Rhymes and stuff.

My son is in H section, anybody else having their child in H sec?

KMSundaresh 2011-08-08 12:24:54

Hi Jithuri,

I wish to join the discussion thread, Could you please share the rhymes list? How was the second interaction? I have a sent a friendship request.

shrean 2011-08-21 16:08:40

hey guys, great to know that u finished ur first meet, hope u shouldve gone for the next meeting too by now. how was ur experience sitting in those tiny chairs , surrounded by colourful charts and scribbles of kids. dont worry abt the rhymes since the kids pick up rhymes in a jiffy and will teach u also.. u should be more concerned abt the story telling and EVS topics they give u. make sure u spend half an hour to brush them up with this, thats enough. Do i sound like ur class teacher? cant help it sorry, been hearing it for years!!!!!!!!!!

BrillAdith 2011-08-23 12:34:58

Hi Shrean,

Yes we did attend the 2 meetings. Bit of an eye-opener and truly excited to witness the activities done by our kids. The school is keeping moms also engaged, i already have done 3 projects for them: Picaboo house, Secret garden and 2 rattles. Nice fun I had going back my memory lane and ticking my creative brains.

yesterday, my kid had his first assesment. They gave stars, dont know what my son got. But I get a feeling the school is being too strict on the expectations from a 3 year old. My son would turn 3 only in Oct. yes, I agree they are exposing the kids to Rhymes, coloring, story teling, slokas, tamil rhymes. I am very impressed with the input part of it, my son is able to recollect most of them. But when sometimes he would not be able to display this in front of the teacher, the kid should not be labeled as not attentive. Let me know your views.......i guess we shd jus chill and let the child be!! ( and not take teacher's comments soooo seriously).

BrillAdith 2011-09-09 14:03:21

Hi Shrean and other PSBB parents,

Please share your views on the above discussion!

yumsc 2011-09-10 11:47:08

Hi BrillAdith,

I totally agree with your last couple of sentences. I am an alumni myself and strongly notice the way the teacher wants to get a stronghold on the parents and through them the child. We are going to see and hear more of this...;-)

Like you said its better not to get pressurized and hand it on the little ones..I think taking in the teacher's input, we can work on the feedback in our own way - we can follow our strategies which we see working with our kids at home..

I see a very positive change in my son when i tried it!

BrillAdith 2011-09-12 11:43:40

Hey Yumsc,

Finally I got a response!!. Thanks for your reassurance. At times even our mature mind gets tilted towards the teacher's comments. Let the child be himself and yes I also took the feedback and turned it as an opportunity rather than a complaint:) Which class is your kid studying in, btw

yumsc 2011-09-13 09:32:31

Mine is in Pre kg too :-)

Pras80 2011-09-13 16:47:28

Hi Everyone,

Nice to to read all your messsages about PSBB. Just have one question. Hope you can reply to this. Just interested to know whether there was any kind of Donation paid by you guys for admitting your kids into the school. If so how much is it for LKG admission.

Please reply

Thanks in advance

jithuri 2011-09-13 19:51:11

Hi Pras80

We got admission in PSBB for prekg without any donation. Dont know about lkg admission though. But always strong recommendation seems to be the criteria for admission into other class ie: lkg to 12th.

Pras80 2011-09-14 12:58:41

Hi Jithuri,

Thank you for this feedback. My daughter is in her Play School at Virugambakkam. Only next year she can enroll in Pre-KG. Can you give me some info about Pre-Kg admission in PSBB KK Nagar if your child has got admission in PSBB KK Nagar. IS my daughter late for next year Pre-KG into PSBB KK Nagar. Can you give me details about the admission into Pre-KG  in PSBB KK Nagar.

sudhaakv 2011-12-20 11:17:54

Hi all psbb parents,

What are the criterias you think is there for psbb kk nagar admission?

I have applied this year for my dd and got no hopes for successful psbb admission, but am wishing for it.

Have also applied Amrita Vidyalaya and its admission seem to finish by december including the fee payment. Am not sure if I had to leave AV and wait for psbb or what to do?

We live near Kasi theater, within 2 kms from psbb school. Do you think this distance criteria is enough to get admission? Pls share your opinions.

dewdrop 2011-12-20 12:59:33

 Hi Sudha,

Even though u live nearby to the school, it will be better if u also try for some high level recommendations to make ur chances brighter. I tried last year but couldn't get through.

michaelrenny1 2011-12-20 13:02:10

@sudha:dewdrop is right..try to get high level recommendation..
