hey I checked the school this saturday..... It is the first batch in chennai this year... My kid was not eligible for this year though....

Abt the fee structure (25 k registration fee +10 k admission fee refundable +20 k per term ) Apart from this u have to pay for uniforms, materials and transport.  My God! (1 Lakh for a Pre-KG) ......

I will have to check for some other schools as it is too high for my kid....

 Hi Asha,

My children go to TIPS as well but they are in Grade IV and UKG. We moved from USA three years back to Coimbatore and my children were studying in TIPS CBE. We've just moved to Chennai and they just love the school here as well. I must say, they are pretty happy campers there ! There is another bigger post on The Indian Public school here which might be of help to you. If you need more information please email me at Would love to help :-)

I am looking at this school for my children aged 4 and 8. I heard grade 3 and up are moving to Taramani campus. Is that right?

Yashve 2013-04-22 15:11:15

Hi Lauvshree,

Yeah.. From grade 3 upwards all the classes are being shifted to Taramani campus.

My kids are studying in this school in Grade I and V and i could see a huge transformation in them over a period of time. They were in a CBSE school previously and very good at academics and thats about it. But now, their attitude, creativity, confidence and communication have all come up so well and i'm more than happy about it. I'm able to see a holistic development in them rather than just being a book worm and good at academics alone. I would surely recommend this school to everyone who are interested in their child's overall growth.

can you tell me where exactly is the Taramani campus? I would like to talk to you. Can you email me your number at lauvshree at gmail dot com?

My kids would be in UKG and grade IV.

Hi all,

I am planning to put my son in good school. As this discussion forum is going on for the last 2 years thought of getting feedback and after joining experience. I am concerned about kids future compared to CBSE Vs IGCSE.

 Hi all

My daughter has been in TIPS CHENNAI for 3 years. The school has a lot of positive points but there is one negative aspect that takes over all the positive ones.

Let me start with the good points- good student teacher ratio, staff v friendly, very adaptable for new children, very safe transport, good communication with parents thro meetings and diary.

Coming to the negative aspect - ORAGADAM. The IB board requires that you have a well equipped outdoor learning centre and TIPS has put up the centre in oragadam in view of geocity. So every week they take the kids there. And I must tell you guys we went there for the sports meet and the journey was so tiring and I can imagine poor kids going every week and sometimes 2-3 times a week when they have an event coming up. They do have a hall for P.E in school but nothing can compare to a outdoor playground. Children will build stamina only if they have regular sports activity everyday, you cant expect a child to run or practise for 3-4 hours a day just because you've taken them to Oragadam. So if you are planning to send your child for some sort of training everyday after school then TIPS is fine, if not every week you can expect complains abt leg pain when thy go to Oragadam. We have spoke to the mgmt many times and even now after shifting the school to Taramani from 3rd std they still dont have a playground there.

Finally 2 things - I am planning to shift my child out next year andTIPS chennai is not IB certified, only CBE TIPS is certified. hope this helps

I just visited to the Taramani campus. It looks good. fee is 1,50,000 (includes refundable deposit of Rs.25000).
I would like to know if it is worth it??  Please give your suggestions.

Meena2014 2015-03-24 15:40:57

Please let me know if the Taramani classes starts from Kindergarden onwards?
I heard it is from 2nd std only , can someone let me know?

venkatant 2015-03-24 16:05:43

Yes, they are going to start the KG in Taramani Campus as I have joined/paid the fee for LKG admission in taramani campus

venkatant 2015-03-24 16:25:11

I have spoke to one parent before visiting the Saidapet campus and she is pretty happy with the way her kids has groomed. I put my fingers crossed and taken an admission.

For me the fee is very expensive but I have taken a costly chance to my kid admitted. Hope TIPS will keep they commitment in molding the kids and will not disappoint.

I need to wait and watch

Meena2014 2015-03-25 12:34:34

@venkatant,Thanks for your response
I would like to know what syllabus they are following and are they affiliated?
Are admissions open now?

Meena2014 2015-03-25 12:36:50

The fee is 1.5 L or 2.5 L.Can someone clarify?
It is too costly if it crosses 1 L every annum, is the school really worth it?

venkatant 2015-03-25 15:26:21

Fee I have mentioned in my above post. So except the 1Lac one time admission fee, rest needs to be paid for every year.

On a whole it will come around 2 Lac every year.

Coming to the syllabus they follow IB (International Baccalaureate) till grade-5,
From 6 to 10 they follow Cambridge IGCSE Syllabus and for 11 and 12th again they go for IB Diploma

You can get more information once you visit the school not sure whether the admissions are still going on.

As per my research, they are affiliated to IGCSE, 6th to 10th grade.

check the link

Coming to IB affiliation Chennai branch has affiliation for DP (diploma Programme 11 and 12th) but not sure whether Chennai branch is affiliated for PYP and MYP.

Coimbatore branch looks affiliated to PYP

Check the link

Meena2014 2015-03-26 14:51:20

Thanks let me check it out... Can you make a comparison with Apl Global thoraipakkam, the a same I GCSE syllabus is followed there as well.

swarbrat 2015-06-19 17:52:04

Looks like Chennai TIPS got affiliated to IB for both primary and Diploma.
Primary got affiliated couple of months back.

sgeethu 2015-08-11 20:27:05

Hi , Can anyone know how is the education system of IGCSE syllabus from 6th onwards like practical method of teaching and individual attention?
