@Magi - So far, I heard only positive inputs about the school. Only problem is as Manasa mentioned the affiliation part and ofcourse the higher school location.

@Viji - Was your feedback from a parent whose kid is in primary? If yes, then Magi would have her questions answered.

Hi Uma,

My friend's kid study in 2nd and Nursery. So this feedback is for both the classes

@Thara - Welcome to the club!! Happy to know that there are few parents in this thread to discuss on SAN academy. Lets hope the school does a good job.

Many thanks for your response. I am planning to admit my kid in San Academy tomorrow. They are charging Rs2000/- as admission fee. I live in the border of Velachery and Adambakkam and hence Pallikaranai is little far for my kid to travel i guess. I checked Pon Vidyashram and i am told that their admissions are closed in October 2010. Nevertheless, i am keeping my fingers crossed with SAN about their well being. I will keep updating this blog with my findings of SAN. Thanks.

Hello Friends.. I have been watching the proceedings in Sunshine Forum and have learnt about the inconsistency, so started to search again. Now i have got a light through all of you and yesterday called SAN Academy and am planning to visit them tomorrow (saturday - they work 10AM-1PM) to check and enroll my Son into UKG. Getting him transferred from DAV Adambakkam.

Over phone they were able to provide some information but i would still like to physically see before deciding. When i enquired about Affiliation they told they got the NOC and will get affiliated sooner. Every year they are adding one class (next year it would be 3rd Standard).

So, i will visit them on saturday and update... Good luck to all who have enrolled their children in SAN...

Hi Friends,

I am new to parenting as well as Parent Tree!! My kid is going to be 2yrs old in 2 months time, so would like to know whether SAN Academy has Play School too. Or is it only from LKG

umabala 2011-02-04 21:31:41

@ntgk - Yes, there is playschool as well. Check their website for more information

Balaji79 2011-02-07 14:16:14

@Uma, Thats a very good and useful effort. We have paid the fees today and what a relief. Looking forward to a good schooling time for the kids.

My kid's name is Sriman.

I was just curious to know the security aspect pertaining to the school transportation.

I saw the kids being escorted to the van / car by the female caretaker (aaya amma) and then the kids are being seated inside by the driver. I dont see any attendance taken at the time of departure, to ensure all kids are back in the vehicle. I amy be wrong, but would appreciate if aomeone who has checked this process to confirm how this is handled. Thanks.

umabala 2011-02-07 14:25:22

Thanks Balaji. I guess Viji has to step in once again to clarify your doubts because all of us are new to this school. You can alse get this clarified directly with the center head Ms. Geetha. I am sure she would explain the process clearly.

@Viji - Is it possible to get clarification on Balaji's query?

umabala 2011-02-07 14:27:03

@1209 - Welcome aboard!! Good to see the club growing ;).

Hello Friends,

During my discussion with someone i just got into the following,

My son currently in DAV doing LKG, is able to write three letter english words. But the schools like SAN will not be giving this much load to Kids and would be letting them free as per their likings. When it comes to 1st or 2nd standard suddenly the load would be heavily put on them to take on their academics. It will not be good for Kids, is what is the argument that has been putforth to me.

I was able to counter, since the kid, upto his age of 3.5, was not having any load at all and now able to cope up within an year to this level. Would he not be able to take up the load after 2-3 years with more maturity?

Though i have told, i am still in confused state and would request people in this forum to comment, give their thoughts and feedback.

Thank You
