Thanks a lot for dropping in Viji!! I would definitely appreciate any/all kind of good/bad inputs possible about the school. I would also specifically like to know the following:

1. Are the teachers professional? for example: do they use rude words or physically hurt kids etc etc

2. Are the teacher really montessori trained?

3. How good is their communication with the kids? Do they stringently follow English or use local languages as well?

4. Are the kids comfortable at school? Is there any improvement witnessed after the kids have enrolled in SAN academy?

5. How are the higher classes? Is the CBSE curriculam adhered?

6. Was any communication given on the middle and higher school location?

now I am left out with SAN academy and modern school. I did not get any feedback about modern school. I should also consider the transportation facility for these school since she has commute from kilkattali bus stand(our house is 2 kms from kilkattalai 

Do you know the transportation facility about SAN Academy and how much they charge approx(please share if they give you info during admission)

Do you need to pay the whole Rs.26000 at the time of admission or only the admission fee?

Even i have enrolled my son in SAN Academy yesterday.I was sailing in the same boat where my son did not get the admission in Sunshine.

I heard that the school is good but not a first hand information though.

@1209 - I was told the transportation cost depends on the distance. Minimum charge is Rs. 800 per month. It is upto you when it comes to payment of fee. You can either pay the annual fee + admission fee or one term fee + admission fee.

@Lakshmi - Glad to find yours son in SAN academy. Have you enrolled you son in LKG? Where are you residing? Send your contact information through parentree mail so that we can keep in touch more regularly.

He is in Nursery I in Sunshine school.Ill mail you my contact details.

I was told that the higher secondary school will be started in Velachery/Puzhithivakkam area.

Hey Lakshmi, what is your son's name?? My daughter is also in Nursery 1 in Sunshine. I did not attend the interview in Sunshine at all as I was not interested to proceed forward with Sunshine. What reason did they tell for the reject?

@1209 - I was told that the seats for Jr KG in San has been filled up. If you have shortlisted this school for your kid, do call them at the earliest to proceed forward.

Thara, I think they mentioned in website as activity based method( like montessori i guess)

@Thara - It is montessori till KG. From 1st std, they would be following CBSE standards. I did not get much positive inputs about PonVidhyashram. I heard Sharanalaya was doing good. My friend's kid was studying there last year. Probably you can mail her in parentree, her name is umasworld. Also there is a separate thread for Sharanalaya in parentree. Check it out.

>>She says they are very kind and friendly. They are very approchable and even the principal takes Parent's suggestion

2. Are the teacher really montessori trained?

>> School is activity based, even for 1st std maths they go to Maths lab and learn more as activity based. Her kids are in Nursery and 1st std. Even for 1st std there is less of writing it seems

3. How good is their communication with the kids? Do they stringently follow English or use local languages as well?

>> She said her kids have started communicating in English which they were not doing earlier

4. Are the kids comfortable at school? Is there any improvement witnessed after the kids have enrolled in SAN academy?

>> Kids like this school it seems.

5. How are the higher classes? Is the CBSE curriculam adhered?

>> Not yet. I guess generally schools get the CBSE affiliation once high school is setup

6. Was any communication given on the middle and higher school location?

>> Not yet i guess. She said she can find out the detail. But till Primary i suppose it will be in this location only

@ Uma today i went to SAN Academy, they teachers are friendly...and spoke nicely.

i feel comfortable with all ur inputs and visits. Actually am residing in madipakkam thinking about the distance only.

One of my friend visit sharanalay sterday, she said its in interior, but they said by this academic we moved to Balaji dental college. so bit confused about it.

@1209 thanks yaar. they too said that from 1st only its Central board.

@Thara - Are you looking for LKG admission? Is it still open? Which school have you decided finally?

 uma- I think the junior KG is still open.

That was an extremely well-researched answer about SAN academy.  I also went to the School and was personally given a tour of the entire facility.  They even let me enter an on-going class room and interact with the teachers and students there - how sweet !

Personally my feeling is that my son will learn well here but the ONLY catch for me is the CBSE affiliation - guess it's not there yet.  I am wondering if the certificate issued by the SAN academy is acceptable to other schools, if we have to shift schools for some reason.

If anybody has more info on this, We would very much appreciate it, if you can share it.

Hi People, I am new to Parentree and am really impressed about the value these parenting blogs brings to our kids and their future. Firstly, i am looking for an admission for my 2.5 yr old kid  in Velachery...and going by the blogs feedback about, Sun shine, i am going to rule it out.

Now, i am planning to talk to San Academy to find out if admissions are open for Pre-KG. Apart from this, are there any other CBSE schools near by in which admissions are still open?. Please let me know. Thanks. Balaji & Vidya

@Balaji - I heard Pon Vidhyashram in madipakkam are still issuing applications. And also Sharanalaya in Pallikaranai are issuing applications. Check it out.

Is there any one whos kids are in 2nd std in SAN academy? I am planning to put my kid there.Need some inputs about the teaching and the scope of the school as the no. of kids are very less in the primary classes.
