If anybody can give review about the GT ALOHA vidya mandir, the new school that has come up at Neelangarai, it would be much appreciated.
Hi my son is studying there (U.K.G), but i am not very happy with the school. The current strenght is about 250 students. They put tooooo much pressure on the children. My son can't even play. every day 3 pages of homework. heavy portions for exams. on top of all, school coaches only 30%. Balance 70% we only have to coach our children. god knows what they teach in the school. Children are blank. My son learns it in 2 days, when i coach at home, but even after 3 months, he doesn't seem to pick up anything from the teachers. Yes they teach rthymes pretty well. nothing else.
We are planning to put our kid in LKG next year in GT Aloha & is in the admission process now. We need more details/inputs from you on this before we finalize next week. Please give your contact & your convenient time to call you.
please dont take it otherwise, when i socialise i do not share my personal details. you can ask me your doubts. After all we are here to share our views with all our known and unknown friends.
Regarding the school : if you are a house wife and if you are willing to see your kid as a studying machine, you can make this choice. Extra curriculars are zero as of now. In our apartment a few more students also are in GT Aloha and they also are not happy. Kids from all other schools play in the evenings, but our children keep fighting with their books in the name of home work.
Though late, i have realised that kids have a beautiful childhood, which they should enjoy. They will attain the maturity to study after 5th std. in the early stages they just have to cultivate the interest to study. i think this is possible only in montessori schools. Luckily in chennai we have lot of GOOD montessori schools ( though getting an admission is nothing less than fortune :) )
I am trying my luck with some high level influence. Looks like i will get the admission. i am having my fingers crossed.
Thanks very much renuka. Your inputs were really useful & timely.
Can you let me know which other schools are you considering and where are you put up.I'm actually looking for schools in OMR/Medavakkam Area as I reside there.
We had applied for BVM & had hopes, but today's results were negative for us. They say BVM's selection is by lots, but I saw there were 4 set of twins who got selected. This is a clear proof that the selection process is not lots, they internally have some other criteria. We were upset on seeing the BVM results, still blank on what other schools nearby.
I dont have a very clear idea of Bharathi Vidhyalaya, enquiring abt it.
Hi. My kid got selected at BVM,Perungudi for LKG.I am not ready to join her there. Becoz i already paid fee for her Pre.K.G at PSBB,OMR. So confirm the school management if any seats ll be available if ppl like me doesnt join.
Thanks Nithya, let me try tommorow for BVM perungudi. can you send me your kid's details & ur phone no to my mailid - email@example.com. I shall try with the school management tomorrow.
ok vidya. I have sent.check and mail me if need any more details.
Vidya i have sent u the details of PSBB,OMR.
Same with me here. Results were negative for BVM Bollineni , and for perungudi I haven't yet checked.
As you said you applied for bollineni also, did your kid get through in that also?If so , I thought since you are not going to join there, we can swap the seats.
Can you give me your feedback about the school GT Aloha?Where do you stay?
As i stay in Medavakkam, I feel Neelankarai is too far for me.Do they have school transport?
I haven't yet applied, when is the lats date for submitting admission forms?
Are you trying for Gateway International school?Any feedback on the same?
Sorry . I didnt apply at BVM Bollineni. Applied only at BVM,Perungudi. And also i swapped my kid's seat with salaivid's kid. All the best for ur kid.
My sincere thanks to Nithya for her timely help. Our kid got selected in BVM perungudi. We are thankful to GOD for answering our prayers.
We went to Adyar today & met the principal. There might be possibility if you go directly to Adyar & try for your kid there as definitely there might be some more drop outs.
My thanks to parentree for facilitating such a wonderful discussion.
No pblm vidya.Keep in touch.
oh ok Nithya.
No probs. If you come across anyone who are willing to do the swapping for bollineni, please do let me know
Congrats to your kid.Just one q i have for you, is this only for the perungudi admission or for the bollineni admission also, we can try meeting the principal at adyar?:
I'm asking this q because i'm keen on bollineni admission, because of the distance to perungudi.
For both you can try. But the chances of dropping are more for perungudi.
For which standard u r looking admission for ur kid. I have admission letter for my son in Bollineni for PreKG.
I'm looking for LKG .
Dear Parents - I moved to Pallikaranai (Jeyachandra Nagar) in 2010 and was desperately looking for a CBSE school. Bharathi Vidyalaya was one of the CBSE school close to our home. In addition to the proximity, the new building of the school impressed us and the brand name of Mrs.Alamelu (who used to be the principal of PS Higher Secondary in Mylapore and Maths book author).Hence I admitted my kid to 1st std without a second thought. After few days to the school, I realized I had made the biggest blunder in my life and injustice to my kid. From teaching, to cleanliness, to communication, to conducting programs, to parent-teachers meet, to anything.....this school is worst. I had repeatedly informed the correspondent Mrs.Alamelu, about the gaps, but there is no improvement due to the inefficient functioning of Principal and school coordinator. Even the teachers in this school are tired and resign in short intervals impacting the childrens education. On the other hand, parents should take the entire burden of teaching the kid. Having said all this, I am planning to pull my kid out of this school and put her in any school, which would be better than Bharathi Vidyalaya for 2011-12. Please parents, it's my humble request do not waste your money on donation and your kids time by admitting into this school. This is no biased feedback, but few words of advice to all parents who are thinking of admitting their kids to Bharathi Vidyalaya Perumbakkam.
So you finally end up in BVM Perungudi? Can you tell me why? Did you visit the site personally. I got scary report about the smell, sewage plant, etc.
So where have u decided to enroll your child this academic year. Just out of curiosity, I would like to know some good montessori schools! good luck. your views on education and how children should study is really awesome!
