sudha12 2009-05-21 19:56:56

My son is 3.5 years old and he will be going to LKG. You can get the application next Oct-Nov for pre-kg. i don't think you can get it now. But I guess there are some schools like PSBB K.K.Nagar for which you need to try it right now.

Hi everybody,

I have put my daughter there.

Nasreen, I would advise not to put your kid in this school. I will list out the problems:

1. The campus lacks security. There are metal barricades all around and pits. There is dust all over and there is no AC. The fans, most of the time, dont work. There is no gen set.

2. A kid who travels by car everyday was accidentally put into the school bus.

3. There is no guarantee that the school bus will pick your kid. You will end up driving down 20+ kms and dropping your kid.

4. The architectue of the building is so pathetic. There are no grills for the windows and my friend's son dropped a pencil and stood on top of a chair and peeping down when I reached the school.

5. The school teaching faculty is highly untrained. They dont kindle the inquisitive mind. No warm words or appreciation /smile. Most of the teachers are also parents and if you have a diploma or degree, you can just walk in.

6. there are so many other issues that I cannot talk about in this forum.

I am planning to talke my kid out.

asharma2 2009-06-30 15:20:34

1. Security and safety are two different things. Saecurity I guess is good. The Safety part I dont see any issue. Barricades looks perfectly safe and away from children reach.

2. This could be a normal human mistake.

3. School has just started with busses going on new routes so I guess this will be better soon.

I am not  sure about other points you raised, but I think the PSBB institute as such is very reputed and has a good background, with that, this branch  too should be at par with other branches in near future.

What other option do you have?? let us know if  you could find an alternative.

tom 2009-08-19 22:29:36

Do u know? there are really untrained staffs recruited? Really they r very dedicated, loving and devoted. They are qualified too. They have got grills for windows. No barricades are lying down.It is really safe and secure. The transportation is regular and organized now. Please avoid giving false information.

sudha12 2009-08-22 12:21:45

I do agree that the school took time to adjust with the faculty and the transport issues, which is normal with the starting of any new organisation. Now I would recommend this school to all based on the improvement seen in the last one month. My son ( he is in LKG) loves to go to school and he also tells me about all the activities that they have like a music teacher,a dance teacher etc. As Tom rightly said, his teacher is loving and encouraging.

I would suggest not to chose PSBB Millinnium school. They charge you exorbitantly. They grab a Rs.30,000/- in the name of admission fee which is absolutly against government rules. If this school is able to violat a government rule so blatently, what moral can you expect them to teach to your ward. Once you paid a sum of Rs.30,000/- and got your kid admitted in this school, then you will have to pay what ever fee hike ( normally from Rs.1000/- to Rs.3,000/- per year) every year. They are looting their parents for nothing.  Worst administration, worst co-ordination, worst transport fecility are their merits. Studywise also you can not compare this school with their other branches in KK nagar and Nungambakkam. Students in this school are not given proper coaching in extra curricular activities. Very few are selected for extra curricular activities and we dont know what is the selection criteria. The existing parents are frustrated after paying huge fees they dont get their due. This year the first set of students are going to write X std public exam. The real strenth of this school in studies may be known after the results.

Hi Sudha I also joined my son in L.K.G in PSBB millenium for 2010.Can I Know where r u

Srihamsa 2010-04-29 20:59:32

 Hi All,

If anyone is seeking an alternative to PSBB Millenium for a variety of reasons, think of Headstart Learning Centre, that will be coming up next to DLF, on a township called ETA Good Life. The school is currently located at Perungudi on OMR. They will be moving to a 3-acre campus of their own on the ETA Good Life property in 2011. The new school will start in 2011. Offers pre KG - 10. IGCSE, which is offered at the present school, will be offered along with ICSE / CBSE.  Very good, courteous, knowledgeable people manage the school. The school's director Naveen has spent years in the US, is very open to suggestions, welcomes parents to spend time at the school.  Check out www.headstartschool.org.

Headstart is a very good school and the management is also excellent.THEIR only problem is afflliation .If they have got the affiliation defnitely it will be the best in chennai

If you are planning to drop and pick up yourself everyday, it may suit you depending on the distance. Their bus service is pathetic and takes upto 1.5 hrs each way for places like velachery. Also, the school is just started their building so there is a lot of dust around the place and flies/mosquitoes etc. I would not recommend PSBB OMR, having had a personal experience there. It's just the name of PSBB - but this branch is not yet up to the standards of PSBB.

Srihamsa 2010-07-27 11:55:46

The problem of getting 11th grade children to reply is that they cannot even distinguish that this school is not controlled by the govt-regulation on fee which applies only to private, unaided schools that offer mainly matriculation or in any case, a state-government syllabus.

I guess children should be kept out of the discussion forum. This is Parentree. And there should be no exceptions - else, school administrators, sellers of all kinds of services and products, bus owners, could also begin writing in glowing terms about what they have to offer - like this child has written about his / her school. That is not a good idea.

Administrators of Parentree - could you please look into this?
