Hi , any one please provide insights about APL global school - school infrastructure, student teacher ratio, quality of education , extra curricular activities etc.
Hi, I am scanning for LKG admission close by perungudi, my main interest is developing the kid personality as a whole rather focussing him on academics, I am keen in IB\ICSE curriculam as well My shorlists are 1. The Indian Public School 2. APL 3. Abacus Montessori Appreciate your suggestion
Hi.. My daughter is in APL. she is in UKG this year . We are happy with the school and the staffs. Very friendly and event the principal is very approachable. I would rate them 4.5 on scale of 5. I think we should agree to the fact that all five fingers are not same, same is applicable for here staffs. But overall its good quality of staffs and education. Communication from school is through email and i should admit it will be very prompt. Any emergency they will send message else its via email.
Fees they dont charge even 1 rps other than whats put in website. Very good in managing time when it comes to annual day, sports day etc., Parents whoever i interact with are happy with the school. If you want your kid to enjoy school without too much of exam, homework and go at their pace.. learn things more cognitively not quantitatively APL is the choice. As well they balance the strike at higher classes is what i hear from higher grade parents, they have regular assessments home work etc..
Last year we had a small turnoff, where they have put in a temp structure for lkg- grade 2 and took us all by surprise. We were not happy with that and raised concerns and management . They held a meeting and said they are coming up with a new building near TVH roasalia and hence was the arrangement, Hopefully we will move in the new building from next year. Parents who had chance to look at the floor plans said it would indeed be a good building.
TIPS - I found very flashy i had been there as well, but found APL more homely ( my view) Abacus - one of my friend, who worked there told told higher grades are not worth it.
Thanks 17boo, Highly Appreciate your response. Till yesterday I was in the feel of TIPS in the priority. I will look into the APL. Pls guide me on the admission procedure for LKG
All the admission registration is through online.. register in the website... Till three yrs back.. per class 15kids.. from last yr per class 18kids.. this year.. they have increased it to 20per class.. and five sections totally till grade 2.. other grades I'm not sure.. must be three or four sections.
After you register.. they will call for an interaction with principal who will let u know on the principle of the school... Post which you will receive call for student assessment... And once your kids is through they will intimate within fews days... Assessment will not be rocket science... Just make kids to use identify colour, shapes.. for kgs higher grade they need to take up written test..
Main thing pls follow up once u register online for meeting principal.. now the school has good recognition.. admissions are little tough.
Good luck for all who are trying ...
I would do make a disclaimer again.. I'm happy with the school and my experience so far has been good..do pls visit the school before u conclude.. there are even parent's who pulled their kids out from the school as they were not comfortable...
Hi vijisrin,
Syllabus wise I chose IGCSE for various options it gives for your kid to choose at higher grade.. photography , psychology..like that 42 subjects.. go to Cambridge website you will get more clarity.. my person feeling is till grade 5 sylabus doesn't matter much.. approach by school towards making kids understand the concepts are more important.. in that APL has earned good name . So don't worry...
What's your expectations from APL is more important.. if you expect them to make 3.5 or 4 yr old kid to write A-Z like Euro kids, Apple kids.. sorry.. they will disappoint you.. they teach more oral in kindergarten than writing... U will have two open day in a year where you can see what all have they done in class.. they make kids to right ABC using clays.. make shapes like AbC.. more practise on phonetics, sight seeing words.. you will be amazed suddenly ur kid reading chocolate, mother, father.. they help kids in reading the words just by getting used.. not teach or dictate and make them write 20 times..
Thanks a lot for your reply 17boo. Myself and my husband studied in cbse and did not have any idea about igcse board. All the neighbours and friends say that it is waste to spend money for kindergarden i.e a lakh rupee. Moreover will this curriculum be helpful for him when he go to higher studies in indian universities. Can you share your number so that i can talk to you for ten minutes regarding this.
Hi Friends my husband is moving to bangalore regarding job change, so we are shifting there but i have paid the admission fee in apl will they refund?? can anyone reply me please
Hi how about the higher grades of Apl global...How is the teaching? is it more focussed towards extra curricular activities or equally focussed on academics too?how about the grades of the students in igcse and as and a level exams..In their website I see it shows the results not updated...How about the attitude of the students in higher classes? I hear the kids are very bossy and use bad language. .Is it true?Does the school treat all parents equally or is there any bias shown for children of popular or rich parents?I hear mixed reviews ...please clarify ..Thanks in advance

im currently in germany and looking to move to Chennai soon. I saw your detailed comment on the school. Can I ask you a few more questions through email?
Could someone provide pros and cons for APL school for Grade 4. We are in dilemma of choosing Indian public or APL global school. It seems, we have mixed review on both.
@RamNithin May I know what was your decision? Which school your Kid is in now and how is it? We too in the same dilemma for Grade 4 the year 2022-2033. Your views will help us. Thanks
There are very few schools which deliver proper IB teaching in Chennai. I have compiled a short list of schools that may be of interest to you, you must take the effort to visit each school and evaluate for yourself -
1. International Village School - Expat & Indian teachers with foreign teaching license, Complete IB school located in Sholinganallur, this school was my favorite when I reviewed many schools in Chennai for my children. The fee charged and quality of teachers as well as infrastructure all met my expectations.
2. American International school - Expat teachers and Indian teaching assistants, part AP curriculum and IB in high school as an option. Too expensive for me and did not like the culture, but infrastructure is decent.
3. TIPS - All Indian teachers without foreign license, with very poor methodology of teaching IB. If you are looking for proper IB this may not work
4. Kids Central - IB head but Indian teachers without foreign license, they offer a mix of UK Cambridge and IB. Was too far for me and also the teacher's quality is only average. For the fee charged I felt teaching quality can be better.
Hi, does anyone know the latest IGCSE,as and a level results for the last year in this school, heard that students are not disciplined well and they use inappropriate words fluently for their age. And what about the teaching quality in as and a level.i don't see teachers profile updated in the school page. Do they give lots of free period every day Will they give proper materials and assessments for IGCSE,as and a level exams Can anyone please share your reviews Thanks
My kids are currently in tips but I'm not at all happy.
My younger one has a mild ADHD and they have a special wing option for kids who need it but it's not helping.
My order one is in 9th grade even for him I don't feel satisfied with teaching quality.
It's almost 3rd term but still I didn't receive one subject binder and tbe uniforms.
I'm planning to change some good IGCSC/IB school with inclusive.
Kindly suggest if anyone knows
TIA
Hi, HLC International is an IGCSE School in Karanai (behind DLF Garden City). It is also an Inclusive school. It is a good school with a very good set of staff and decent facilities. The school is small and so demand is always high. Please check their website and try applying. Thanks.
