Hai all I have started this thread, hoping that i would get inputs on the newly opened SRI CHAITANYA Techno Schools in some 5 areas in chennai..I am concerned about the one in OMR..I am planning to put my 4 yr old son in LKG there. I personally visited the campus and discussed the admission procedure with the person in charge..She explained the reputation they have in andhra n in more states... their curriculum, timing, commute, campus, future courses, teachers recruiting, fees etc..Looked around the classes too...yet to finish construction...I am quite convinced with the school..People who are on the look out for schools, already visited and going to join...if u all can put your inputs, doubts etc will be of great help for frustrated parents who didnt get admisiion elsewhere(DAV velachery, DAV adambakkam, Modern, Sairam Vidyalaya) As I am one among u.. Hope this thread will gather informations useful
I did a little research about this school today morning and I have two concerns.
1. Their curriculum is neither metric nor CBSE nor ICSE. They follow their own curriculum which is called techno curriculum. I am not sure how well our kids will suit for this model. 2. Their fee structure is almost same, if not higher than what I am paying currently. It is around 75K per year per kid.
Hi Sandy, In OMR, Where this school exactly located? Not much Details in their website. I am also interested to admit my kid in this school for 1st std. How is the Fee structure? One of my friend told that fee is nominal in hyderabad(Around 30 to 40K). Do you ok with the syllabus? When i googled, location shows near to padur. Is that correct?
@pnbalaji...The brochure says it is cbse syllabus ...The techno curriculum which they follow includes all cbse, icse, isce n state syllabus...which i see, is good. They say they will get cbse affiliation in next six months until 8th std...Next, the fees. yes, comes to 75k per kid which i think is nominal as SAN..around velachery gets 1 L as capitation fund itself. @mg58092...When you go from vijayanagar towards SRP tools, take a right to OMR and within 1 KM radius, u will find a foot over crossing and this school is next to that, on your left...(opp some boys school ground)..Fees for LKG 27K I term and 12K next two terms...20K capitation..Books, uniform, transport extra... Thanks Sandy
@Sandy83, my wife spoke to a lady who has put her kid in Andhra chaitanya school and the info that we received was shocking. The school starts at around 7 AM and the kids come home back only around 7 PM. They are completely academic oriented and the parents are saying that the school will be training the kids for IIT right from the beginning itself. They give less importance to extra curricular activities and sports. I am not sure how far this is true, but if this is the case, I don't want to enroll my kids. 12 hours in the school for the kids too much.
Hai pnbalaji...yes..even i heard the andhra school timings and the pressure they put on academics side and not on extra carrirular...the lady incharge herself accepted it and she said the parents out there in andhra expect such type of schools and they themselves question the management if they dont create the pressure on students... But here, she said, having chennaiites in mind and their mentality that the kid should shine in every activity, sport, academics, etc..they are going to have all extra carrirular and going to have a 1 acre land which is adjacent to the building as a play ground and sports area... Even the timing is from 8.15 to 1 pm until KG ...Lets see if somebody else come up with their views...BTW in which school does ur kid go to now and how old is she or he...Mine goes to Kidzee Vijayanagar for Nursery.
My kids are right now in San Academy (2nd and 4th), Pallikaranai. This year kids are feeling too much pressure in their studies. Other school members are accepting the fact that SAN's syllabus is heavy.
Hi, I am planning to get clarity on issues like home tasks and the like which they have mentioned in the prospectus. What stuns me is that the prospectus is terrifying to an average parent by their projections of the list of credentials. I am not sure of the syllabus too. What I was initially told was that it was NCERT syllabus, but the reviews from other states points otherwise. Will post what info I am able to garner. Viju
Chaithanya follows the Delhi CBSE board syllabus. Up to 5th standard, they follow only CBSE syllabus. From 6th onwards, they start CBSE + techno curriculum. The techno curriculum trains the kids towards IIT/IISc entrance exams, which is what they say. My kids are feeling CBSE itself as heavy. If we introduce techno curriculum apart from CBSE, it will drive them crazy.
Met the coordinator regarding the syllabus and the techno curriculum. Looks like the children are basically evaluated in the CBSE curriculum but the concept based training is provided as an add on to the CBSE. Kids have a monthly evaluation on the techno syllabus and the teachers train the students accordingly. They are boldly claiming that the parents need not worry abt how the children will cope up as the teachers are trained to handle concept based teaching. Timings in Chennai are upto 4.30 only unlike 12 hrs mentioned in the state of AP.
oh...thats a good info @vijju. sort of positive...lets see...are you also trying for any other schools vijju n what is your kids age and where do u stay?

Hi Just I want to add, for OMR KG timings 8.30 to 12.30. Today I booked for UKG for my daughter in OMR branch. But as of now no faculty and Principal are in place. They will open the school by first week of June 2016.
I agree with madhu17......just happened to visit the school and would like to share the link below about Chaitanya who are known to run the school without even recognition. Even I am sure they will not get the government recognition for Pallavaram which is a HOSPITAL building taken over from DEEPAM HOSPITALS........The school building regulations cannot suit the design of a Hospital and am sure they will not get the recognition......so be careful and think twice before putting your child in CHAITANYA Pallavaram........I am not sure about the other branches......
Hi all I am new to this forum. I am planning to put my son who is 3 years old in Pallavaram Chaitanya. Did they get affiliation?Anyone have board their son/daughter over there?
