Hi,
The reason why I feel Matriculation is better...
.
Can a typical middle class family afford the fees the school is asking for?
Donation in name of admission fees between 60k to lakh. This is minimum amount but I know schools that charge even higher.
With two children and single salary - with a TAG line in the school prospectus that "Fees is subjective to increase by 10% every year".. OMG imagine the fees we would be paying when the kid is in 12th std. I am sure we would have completed our entire education in that money..
I was wondering that if parents are really not interested in Matriculation school just - is it purely caz of Samacheer Kalvi or any other reason.
The good matriculation schools in these area that I have short listed. Please add in your valuable points and input.
1. Akshaya Matriculation School - Velachery
2. New Prince - Ullagaram
3. Zion Matriculation School - Tambaram.
4. vyasa vidyalaya matriculation school - madipakkam

This is new trend of putting kids in cbse.so only new cbse schools sprout everyday.But matriculation schools are equally good. Samacheer kalvi syllabus wil change effectively in upcoming years. So. I too prefer matric school for my 2 kids. Akshayah matric and vyasa vidyalaya are equally good. Do you have any idea abt admission process, fees structure.

My friends kids are studying in both these schools. I guess the donation-so called admission fee has hiked in Akshaya last year. I have asked them to inform me when application forms are distributed, I will let you know then.
I also heard that in Tamil Nadu after 12th during college admission first preference is for matriculation syllabus when compared to CBSE. Moreover Cbse kids are only given only management quota admission. I am not very sure of this information. Please cross verify.

deciding to put the kid in matriculation is better option. But Akshaya matriculation school fee also will be practically may be equal to cbse. Vyasa is good. Also Bethel matriculation, Vanavani at IIIT campus also good. In college admission state board/matriculation students will be having advantage after class12. Also CBSE school craze is started by parents for last few years. By the time the present set of students(joining kg) comes out after 12th this craze will subside. But only thing you have to keep in mind that matriculation students has to undergo strict discipline etc.

Caldera, well said I totally agree with you. Can you give me feedback about Bethel matriculation school. II also heard Admission in vananani is tough.. Drop in your inputs
Many of the matriculation reviews will not be available in the sites like parentree or other sites. This is due to the fact that well to do parents have migrated their wards to cbse and they discuss about the cbse schools only on this sites, even though they might have done their education(parents) in even government schools during their days. Also most of the matriculation school will have wide economical back ground students which make the well to do parent to shy away from this schools. Only through known persons who are studying from this schools like Vyasa Puzhudivam,Prince Madipakkam, Bethel Velachery you can get information. Also it is better to go to the school which is nearest to residence. Vanavani admission may not be tough as KV schools. However it is at par of any schools mentioned above. Also Zion matric also good but it is in Selaiyur Tambaram.
I absolutely agree with you Caldera. I'm planning to Relocate based on my daughters Admission. I am saying a strict no for paying donation. Let me see how is working for my daughters. I strongly feel getting admission in matriculation is better. I still have controversies with many ppl in my family because of my decision. Anyway end of day is our decision only. In addition to matric schools discussed here you can take admission in Modern senior secondary school Nanganallur,CBSE which is in the same locality and is good school academically.
rum6- don't take a harsh decision of strictly no paying donation. If the donation or fees is reasonable and the school is good you should try to relax your principle of no donation. This has to be considered for the kids to have good atmosphere. Only thing better to avoid the school charging high fees or donation.

Am new to parentree...We are planning to relocate to Madipakkam. Am looking for my daughter's admission in 7th Std. in matriculation school.My expectations regarding the school are good academics (but not too much pressure on kids) and options for overall development of kids..and a nominal Fees..:-)Have the following schools in mind. 1. Ahshayah Matriculation school2. Sai Matricualtion school3. Holy Family ConventPl let me know if there are any other school options....

heard sairam vidhyalaya in madipakkam koot road is also one of the best. But it is CBSE. currently it is having till 8th std, i guess. please check the school website.
Akshaya Matriculation per year comes around 60K and reviews heard not that much good, Try with Bethel velachery and Prince adambakkam. They are the very good schools in all the aspects. New prince and sairam vidyalaya both are the CBSE schools running at a nominal fee(30 to 40K) in these areas. But reviews heard is average.

Sri, I have heard the school is good. I don't think there ll be so much of pressure. Not sure of extra curricular activities

Don't ever think to admit your child in New Prince Matriculation Higher Secondary School of Adambakkam. This school don't know about moral values what they will teach to their students. Quality of education is very poor. They believe in mug up theory rather than making the student understand on the subject. Beware of this school.
