Have u registered for sishya when your baby was born? Because admissions are possible only if we register during baby birth,
Thanks to pandurangan
for kicking off this thread.
I'm looking for a year one (1st std) 2016-17 admission in South Chennai. We are not Indian nationals but Indian Origins. I have few questions around the admission process. I hope some one can help me.
- Is that mandatory to produce 'community certificate' while applying or getting appln form? What if my kid doesn't have one or not eligible to get one? (eg: foreign national / not holding Indian passport)?
- If I'm not living in India while applying for school admission, can I provide my permanent address (where my parents live now) as address proof?
- As most of you are trying for KG's, you didn't highlight about previous school records. I just wonder, what kind of certificate most of the school expects?
I would appreciate your replies.
Hi.. No updates here.. It's okay.. My pediatrician recommended 2 schools which gives great exposure to every kid.
1. Vanshi Manthan Vidhyashram
2. Shraddha Children's Academy
These two are in kottivakkam.
He told some valid points about the schools. Let me share this.
The former school is very strict. Gives constant feedback to the parents. Parents who wants to meet the teacher is lil tough. I googled about the school, it's rating is 5 out of 5.
The latter school is a new school where coaching is good and it also have ratings more than 5.
Can anyone knows about these schools, pl update here. It will help us for our kid's future.
Thanks in advance.
You can call the schools like NPS INTERNATIONAL, PSBB MILLENNIUM, BVM GLOBAL directly over phone and say try hem ur foreign national with Indian origin...thr will b definitely NRI quota ...in all reputed schools.
Thanks Lalitha. I'm not interested in international schools. I know it simplifies the process if I go for IGCSE but I wanted my kid to go to Cbse based school. I started enquiring schools directly. Few of them are flexible in admission process but fingers crossed.
btw BVM global response wasn't that great. They told me they can't answer any of my queries before admission process.
My Daughter DOB is 9 Dec 2013 and I preferred to join her in Pre-KG next year 2016-2017 ,as per current year (2015-2016) age eligibility of PSBB is 2.6 (as on June 1 2015 ) , Could some one advice is she eligible for Pre-KG with lag of 9 days.
And also suggest me some good CBSE schools locate near Tambaram.
We are not sure about the age criteria...but...PSBB group of schools are very strict with respect to their rules and regulations...they will start admission in November 2015.
Bvm global provide seat as subject to vacancy..even for my kid i have to apply lkg 2016.

Hi vaigai, DAV, chettinad vidhyashram, Psbb, Sboa...these r the best schools as I know.
Hi vaigai, what is ur kid's age
We directly visited shraddha, st johns and 3 other schools in palavakkam.
In shraddha, we directly meet principal. He s so intensively in saying fees only, not even saying how their schools is processing or their achievements of previous academic year. Also being parents, we are asking questions in English, the principal of that school replied in Tamil. Thus is my own opinion. We are not much satisfied in this school.
Next st johns, the infrastructure is very attractive that will not going to help our kid. The main drawback is there is no ground for the child for their sport activities. Not completely
satisfied at this school too
Oh k lavanya. I was having hopes that st.johns will be good. Though the playground s a drawback, an idea about the coaching in st.johns?
Also any idea about the new Hindustan cbse school in karapakkam?. Someone told me its near kcg college so i was wondering whether its really worth putting kids there.
The views about st johns that I heard is there is not much strict about kids behavior or coaching. The communication of kids is okay. I don't want my kid going 10kms away for their sport activities though by spending 70k.
At last we have decided to enroll my kid in VANSHI MANTHAN VIDYASHRAM in Kottivakkam.
I don't know about the other school which you asked. Sorry
Hi , i got feedback about st. John from my relative is ... they r good in english... no ground...they r giving preference to one particular religion. .. all school day activities ll be conducted at t advent church ground whuch is in perumbakkam. .and annual day fun ll be in YMc ground.... they r money minded.... if we r ready to pay 2 lac (including fees)for ore kg definitely we ll get seat..
which r the schools u visited in ecr. we r in neelankarai. looking for schools in that area. howz primrose. what do u like n manthan. heard workload is more for kids nd teachers r rude. how about gateway.
can anyone throw some lights on schools n omr aswell. from sholinganallur to siruseri.
Hindustan cbse school in Karapakkam.. Hearing this school for first time. Pls check if it's affiliated before enrolling your kid
1. 8 months her dob is 9 dec 2013
But vanshi manthan is ICSE rgt?. Jus went thru d website n saw that its an integration of cbse, igcse.
Does st.micheals have cbse?.
Did u visit vanshan mandir school in person? how is it? How abtt the fee structure n other details? pls share
Yes we visited manthan school. Normal infrastructure like our school which we studied at those days. For me, I don't want fancy buildings or air conditioned classes for our kid. So it's okay in manthan school.
Next the comments about rude and strict behavior of teachers is not completely true.
Points to be considered to select this school by me is
1. Teachers give constant feedback to the parents
2. Teachers paying individual care and attention to the students.
3. It is a good school where the foundation for kids is really very strong.
4. The fees is nominal.
And the lady in the office told us to come on Sep 2nd week for pre kg admission at vijayadasami. They will tell the fee structure on that day.
Yes Manthan school is an integrated syllabi of international and central board.
St Michaels is now completely igcse syllabus. And they also have matriculation boss but not having cbse .
