pappuchinu 2015-03-17 16:16:20

Hi Srijag,

We are thinking of visiting the Tailor in the pamplet to get the material and to give it for stiching elsewhere.  Thinking of doing it tomorrow. How about you?

Hi ..i do not know how to join the HSS gruop. I have also got admission into HSS and paid fee and everythig

KavithaSwami 2015-03-19 14:46:13

Hello everyone,
Thanks Aruna for starting this group.
And thanks Subhavijayasri .. your previous posts gave us an idea about the school.

Our son got admitted to LKG  in HSS this year.
Can anyone tell me if there's a snack-time for them as they are let go at 12.20 pm? If so, can we send them some tiffin or should we send only bakery items?

subhavijayasri 2015-03-19 22:31:33

hi allschl so far is ok. extra curricular is encouraged - but much depends on students' interest and parents backing.  There are competitions and any student can participate.  Those that excel seem to catch the eye of the teachers and are further encouraged to participate in competitions outside the schl too - so i have heard. But this seems to be the trend in most schools too - in my opinion.  Certainly subjectivity plays a part every where - but the teachers here seem to give an equal chance to all at the outset - opinions formed over many years with respect to kids studying here for a long time does play a part - but new comers are not ignored. In my view, the students too need to do their bit to catch the teachers eye.  But for KG kids - there should not be any worry since all seem to get an equal chance from the beginning. In my opinion alone - i don't think that kids can become experts or gain a lot of experience in extra curricular activities by joining in the school alone.  Schools can at best provide an exposure to these activities and provide a platform for competitions - both intra and inter school - which in turn may hone their skills further, encourage exploring, create awareness and interest.  But the skills per se would have to be learnt elsewhere.Sports - for kids staying near by, there is time outside schl hrs too for games - i hv heard that specific coaching is given too. Since i don't stay nearby, my kids don't hv that exposure yet.

Hi all! My children got admission in HSSS this year ..We are moving from Mumbai.we are planning to shift after the first term as my husband will get transfer only in middle year.Planning to get house in thiruvanmiyoor area. Understood from previous posts that we need to enquire about private van facility on the same day of book distribution.we wont be able to come there to collect books on  April 6th,so anyone comes to know abt van operator's number's please share here..
My elder kid is in 6th and younger in 3rd..Bit worried about how it will be if kids join in second term..
can anyone tell me when is the first term ending in school?? when I enquired the school ,they said it will be in Sept end..

subhavijayasri 2015-04-01 21:42:44

Hi @ Dhan2015
Welcome to the HSSS group. 1. First term does end by Sept.  Kids shld be fine - in my opinion they get to make frnds quickly at that age. The teachers and schl have a very welcoming atmosphere. My son will be in 6th for academic 15-16.  2. I am not at Thiruvanmiyur - so no idea of van operators' no. - But yes, it would be advisable to get the number and discuss option of a seat in the van for the second term at the earliest.  My experience last yr - van operator refused facility for April and would take new entrants only from June onwards though the academic yr starts in April.

Dhan2015 2015-04-02 16:19:01

Thank u for your reply Subhavijayasri....
I also hope kids will be ok in school as they are big enough..We will try to come to the school during june/july so that we can meet any van operators as well.we havent taken any house yet...need to find one somewhere near to the school.

I have one more thing to clear with u all...last time when we went to school for paying fees the watchman didnt allow us the to enter the school premises.we had told him tht we were there to make payment, still he refused..then we  had to wait for long time for getting permission to go inside.Do  we need to take appointment always for meeting any teachers or school staff there .

subhavijayasri 2015-04-02 21:25:16

Hi Dhan2015
You can meet any teacher betwn 3.45 pm and 4.00 or a little later on any working day - no requirement of prior appt - only difficulty is we may not know if the teacher is present on the day we go there unless we call and find our earlier.  All teachers i hv met so far appear very frnly.

pappuchinu 2015-04-04 12:20:14

Got books

pappuchinu 2015-04-04 12:21:57

Should we cover those?

Sitar86 2015-04-05 11:33:19

So everyone all set for the first day of school tmrw???

YogaMoha 2015-04-06 09:22:38

My son in HSSS commutes from thiruvanmiyur(RTO) to the school by a private van and I have no complaints yet.
If you are looking out for a van operator, you can give a try contacting Saravanan (Cab operator) # 9941350355.

hem4ram 2015-04-08 09:15:38

Hi all
My Son is in LKG - E section. I need a info like do we need to get Black/White shoes/Socks for him.. what is the dress code actually??? when they have to wear (which day) the white color(house dress) dress?

hem4ram 2015-04-08 09:17:27

Do u have formed any other group for LKG 2015-16 (google group)??? if so can u send me the invitation?????

YogaMoha 2015-04-08 11:29:20

The white dress with the coloured house t-shirts with school belt on monday's with white shoes and white socks. The coloured t-shirts will be given by the school in the month of june after they decide on the house. So, till then u can continue with the regular uniform.

The regular uniform is white and blue checked shirt with navy blue half pant with black shoes and black socks with the school belt.
You can get the uniform and school belt from Viswathara /Sugan by just mentioning the school name.
Let me know if you still have questions.

Dhan2015 2015-04-08 16:39:06

hem4ram 2015-04-09 08:40:58

Thanks a lot Yoga! :)

hem4ram 2015-04-09 08:47:56

@ Dhanya,

So far no issues and feeling satisfied...

@ Yoga,

I am sending my son by Private Van .. my concern is how teacher will identify the particular assistant of the Private van and send the Kid.. any id card with photo (escort card) is there....

YogaMoha 2015-04-09 10:54:11

Yes, You are right. Your van operator will collect one photo and issue a transport card which will be given to the teacher of the class. The van operators in this school are like a tie up to the school, though they do not work directly under school management. The teachers will be shown the transport card by the van operators for few days while collecting kids. Later sum time, they get used to and the teacher will send the kid only with that particular person. These van ppl go to the class and leave the kid and picks up from the class with the school's permission. My son commutes from valmiki nagar to HSSS and till now i did not find any hicupps with respect to the commutation. For the past one year, there were only 2 days when the van got breakdown and i had to drop the kid to school. I personally feel safe about his commutation though i was worried like you when this all started :):):)

hem4ram 2015-04-09 14:54:48

Thank u very much yoga :) .. Ll talk to my van operator and give him my kid's photo

pappuchinu 2015-04-20 20:48:03

Hi, who are all in lkg A?

psnagarajan 2015-06-16 13:20:36

To all Parents whose ward is studying at HSSS, Indira Nagar
Please refer to the below link, it is very encouraging and supports our decision in selecting this school for our ward

Nagarajan P S (psnagarajan@yahoo.com)

psnagarajan 2015-06-16 13:33:16

To hem4ram
Reg: query how teacher / assistant will identify the van operator.
Sharing my experience here.
I've 2 kids, 1st Kid in UKG and 2nd kid in LKG B.
well Van operator will give you a card in that we need to fill address and contact details.
Van operator will show the card to class teacher / assistant, then only they'll send the ward to operator.
in case of any confusion van operator calls the phone no mentioned in the card, one time van operator promptly called my ph no to confirm whether was absent / present.
Nagarajan P S
