Hello everyone, First of all sorry for creating one more thread... i thought it would be better if all of us follow one thread for this academic year..(there r too many forums.. with the same name and bit confusing) As of now, it is mentioned in schools website that the dates will be anounced on dec 15th 2014. Lets wait :)
Do you people have any idea about School academic and extracurricular activities? As per my understanding they are very good in Academic. But they have only one section for LKG with 32 student. 16 each for male and female. If you guys have any more details please share with me. Thanks Jagan
NCERT Hi everyone,Happened to read through the thread, though I would pitch in and clarify few. My kid is studying in AVM for few years now and doesn't want to mention the class:) 1. On the process of selection, its absolutely unknown to anyone and we got seat without any recommendation. And school got refundable 15,000 deposit and nothing extra than fees.2. On the students ration (Girls/Boys), Yes to great extent they follow equal ratio.3. And there are working mothers in our batch who has got seats, almost i knew ~10 mom who are working women. As far as the mom is willing to join the kids for first few week, they don have issue.4. On the teaching system they follow, its really different from other school. Although they didn't start writing in PP1 & 2, doesn't make any different for our kid to start writing in std 1, where my kid started writing stories, poems etc in class 1 which we believe is far enough for a std1. (Although few child struggled, not all kids have same IQ and I teach my kid & has good IQ as well ) And I believe they now started writing in PP2 or so, please clarify with current student's parents in PP2They do refer many Cambridge and other standard books for all subjects and its no way less than CBSE and kids never get less knowledge compared to CBSE.Infact we feel they are good compared to other CBSE. My Kid wont byheart and write when i compared to peers in other school. They give more importance to English and Math which are base for any subject.5. On extra curricular, they do send outside for competitions and sports has been introduced outside school hours, other than school hours play time.6. As someone mentioned, yes one main problem we see is the teacher attrition but they managed so far ASAP in replacing another teacher. Nevertheless to say, every school has their own pros/cons.Overall they keep improving every year and am happy mom about my child progress in the school. **Above are purely my opinion about the school as per my experience over past years. All the best parents.
Hi Nethumon, Thanks for your info..its really helpful....I am staying in Velachery and my Son is 3 years and 4 months as of today. Admission is SAN academy is already over and in DAV public school there are no vacancies for LKG.
Can you pls help me to know what will be the possibility to get seat in Arsha Vidya Mandir and what are the questions they will normally ask in interview.
Interview they usually take the kid away from parents and make the kid do some color identification, block building etc( please refer last year thread, i totally forgot), with parents they have a discussion about the teaching methodology & clarify our doubts. However no one is sure on their selection criteria which is still a puzzle. My suggestion is do not rely on this school alone since the seat is only 32 that too based on gender u have 50% gone (~16 seat for female & male).
