I'm also planning to put my kid there......I visited the school last week.....the infra is good and heard some positive feedback from the parents there.....I'm keeping my fingers crossed...not yet decided
In a discussion going on in the group.. i read bad reviews about this school. Tomorrow is the assessment day for my son. After which i have to pay fees.
Is this school not recognised by CBSE BOARD? I M TAKING ADMISSION FOR PRE KG OR LKG.they said its AMERICAN MONTESSORI INTERNATIONAL TILL SENIOR KG. i m finding it all difficult. Plz giv suggestions
This review i am giving the olive public school which is located in Sarvamangla Nagar, Iind Main Road, Chitlapakkam, Chitlapakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600064 with Phone number :044 2223 5927.is NOT CBSE (central board of secondary education)
they are following CBSE syllabus
.It doesn't mean this is a CBSE affiliated school
.and this they have clearly mentioned in their website.under affiliation.(http://www.olivepublicschool.in/affiliation.php
Now i don't understand one thing this school doesn't have affiliation and if you see the fee structure for preschool while taking the admission parent has to pay 20,000
as admission fee(building development fund) for which they will not give receipt.they accept credit card also for that. And rest of the year parent has to pay 13,000 quarterly. And coming to the point AMI(American Montessori international).(http://www.americanmontessori.co.in/contact.aspx).for the kids who are (Play group,Nursery,Junior & senior KG)
it is known
as AMI NOT OLIVE public school.
But the infrastructure is very good comparatively from other schools.NOTE
:IF you wanted your kids to study in a good environment then this the school your looking for but affiliation is not CBSE or ICSC or state government.
Hope My review will help you.
Let me clarify with whatever I have gained after reading the Internet and discussions I had with the principal.
Recognition and affiliation are entirely different. Any school that need to function should be recognized by the state education department. Recognition is mandatory as it ensures that your child is studying in a safe and secure environment . this includes fire safety, building stability, and hygiene. FYI ,Olive is recognized by the state government.
Now, the affiliation part deals with just the curriculum the school can offer. It can be MATRIC, CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE, IB, Etc. However,
CBSE clearly specifies that the shool needs to go for affiliation only when conducting classes for grade 9 and above. It may be understood that state recognition is sufficient for a school to offer CBSE curriculum upto grade 8. This is the reason that most of the new CBSE schools awaiting affiliation have only upto grade 8.
Now, keeping these in mind, I believe that to some extent have clarified your doubts
olive public school - I heard they have already applied for CBSE affiliation, can anyone inform who visited the school recently or their child already studying in the school
Yes...they already have got the recognition till 8th grade....and have applied for affiliation for 9th grade and above
Olive has got the NOC from the education department to obtain affiliation for CBSE. They have got it atlast
