Thank you Deepuk. I have gone through the curriculam. almostg all schools insist on Hindi or local language ( Tamil ). My sons have been studying French for the past two years and hence I think it would be difficult ( particularly the elder one since Tamil literaure will be tough from 7th std upwards ) for them. I am considering the option of French as language if possible.
if not available, we have no option, anyway.
Thanks once again, Deepuk. I appreciate.
I did try and found out Veals Billabong ( INternational ) offers French. In discussion with them currently. Just to keep the members posted. However the distance can be an issue here. :-(
Hello ,
The Indian Public school offers French . I took admission from my daughter for Pre-kg (unfortunately she hasn't started school because we couldn't shift to Chennai from abroad .. but still paying a minimal fee and holding the admission for her) . I spoke to some parents before taking admission and got all positive reviews . your kids can go to TIPS perungudi , which is near to pallikkarani
Sorry for the typo .. I took admission for my daughter .
And forgot to mention that their curriculam is IGCSE and not CBCE/ICSE ,,, So sorry for not mentioning it
Dear Friends,
I just want to know from the parents of the kids studying in Indian Public School Perungudi, Chennai about the environmental issues if any. The school is very close to the Corporation Sewage treatment plant & dump yard as I could see from the google map. is it not too close to the school ?
Thank you for the input Smithanish. I appreciate. Have you been to the school ? may be during your vaccation or something ? is it not too close to the Sewage treatment plant / corporation waste yard in that area ? any issues like foul smell etc ? particularly the rainy season ? sorry for asking too many questions.... I am sure you all can understand as parents :-)
I am more than happy to answer your queries ..last year I was in the same situation of urs
I had been to the school 2-3 times... I visited the Saidapet (from pre kg to 3rd standard ) campus and Perungudi too . Perungudi campus is not near to the sewage treatment plant .. its near to the lifeline hospital(somewhere behind sun office) . ..I didn't feel any smell or even pollution .. the main road is kind of far from the school .
I had to wait in the reception area for the orientation meeting as I reached very early . so I could observe and interact with some of the students there and could also vitness how much care the teachers had for their students .... I fell in love with the school in my 1st visit itself. All the kids were so happy and knowledgeable (surprised to see the indepth knowledge of 3rd students about politics and the issues going around ) , .
The only negative thing I found out was , they have a weekly travel to outdoor learning area (oragadam ) .
Please check the below link for more info which I found useful while I was searching school for my kid and also the FB link of the school ..it'll give an allover idea ,

Thank you very much Smithanish. We sincerely appreciate. In that case, it would be just a short drive for the kids to travel back & forth to the school from where we are planning to reside, Pallikkaranai. I agree it is going to be tough every week to travel to Oragadam.
Thanks once again. I will keep you posted on the developments on my further exploration. :-) Have a nice day....
Thank you very much, Smithanish.
Hi,
I am scanning for LKG admission close by perungudi, my main interest is developing the kid personality as a whole rather focussing him on academics, I am keen in IB\ICSE curriculam as well
My shorlists are
1. The Indian Public School
2. APL
3. Abacus Montessori
Appreciate your suggestion
