Hi, I am Malathi Shekar.
I got my children admitted in MVM Polachery this year - my daughter in Eighth and my son in First Standard.
I am not satisfied.
There is no playground. I am so concerned. When all other schools have Montessori for Class I and II, this school treats children like a zail. Children have to go to restroom in Q, their hands tied at the back, this applies for Class VIII also. So, play.
They charge high for many extra activities - Gymnastics, Silamattam, what not.
Worst thing is this school has no tree, which is killing. No shade, don't know I had put my children here. Also, there is no proper prayer, no prayer in the ground, no pledge. There is classroom or corridor prayer. My daughter studied in Kendriya Vidyalaya and he hates to go to school now. My son studied in Little Millennium. He too hates this school. School memories should be fun and everlasting but studying here is a pain. Don't know why I chose this school for my children when I am focusing on giving them the best.
I will move my children too Srimathi Sundaravalli next year,

I will be happy to hear further comments about this school. School bus comes by 7.10 a.m. at Rajakilpakkam and children are suffering.

Children reach home by 4.45 p.m, which is very disturbing.
Child, who is in Std 1, doesn't have his lunch, no one is bothered.

Wanted to tell that if school is asking students to go in a q to washroom there should be some reason as noted myself children are running to wash room just imagine if someone gets injured or hurt we parents would complain about that saying students are not monitored while out of classrooms Talking about prayer conducted in corridor or classrooms I guess it should be for the safety reason and just to avoid children standing in beating heat and sun. And talking about pledge in prayer I have heard the entire prayer and of course there was pledge taken by the students especially on Monday with flag hoisting. If you are saying that charges for extra activities are high than I would suggest to check the worth of it and then talk as the school is yet to start up for the academic year and always its our wish to choose for what to pay and not to pay..I am seeing this school for last two years and I can say that its the best for learning and exploring knowledge and its practical as my son is doing well in this school from last two years. Last advice would suggests to wait and decide after a year or so about the school.......

If soaps are not provided than feel that is better as children are free of infection because medically speaking using one soap by all can spread infection across. Bus timings can be because of the route allocation and distance so may be you can speak with the concerned person

I don't know how its safe of not washing hands with soap after potty? There r liquid soap that can be used without multiple hands touching. Wts I could understand is no awareness of hygiene in teachers and parents.

Hi All,

Read some feedback on the school.   My daughter studied in MVM Hyderabad last year in class U K G. Its a huge building and a good playground and kids are well taken care of.  As for the queue for wash rooms is concerned its good bcos some kids are really mischeivious and discipline is required.  However, for the soaps part, I can say that liquid soaps are good. MVM Hyderabad has asked all parents to send one bottle of liquid soap at the beginning of the academic year and the same is used for kids. My daughter kept telling me as I enquired on such things.  At MVM Polachery we parents can insist in meeting that this should be followed strictly for safety and hygiene reasons.  Other things can well be sorted out on individual basis.  For Transport we need to check on the no. of students and how the buses are allocated for different routes and what is the waiting time.

Hello,
Can anybody please let me know about how good the school is in academics perspective? Are teachers in MVM good in communication and whether the kids really enjoy the school?

Hi Anup09, Is your kid studying in MVM polacherry? In which class is he/she studying? Would like to know about the medium of communication that children use inside the campus.

Anup09 2015-02-13 14:22:54

Hi,
My kid is in UKG, We are a North Indian family.
medium they use both while teaching, but they often use local language in small classes and my kid reported me, he does not understand when teacher talks in local language.I am open if they do so, my child also can learn a new language this way.
Idea should be experienced and capable staff and for my kid I found that here for him.
I don know about other teachers, may be other people can help in this forum.

Hi Anup09, can you please share a little more about the school?  I have got admission for my kids there.  I would like to know if the kids are overburdened with lot of homeworks, activities, and projects.  Are the teachers friendly or very strict to the kids?  Are they open for discussion with the parents if there are any concerns or issues?  I have seen many negative inputs about the school in parentree, so i am a bit confused.

Ya that is true, long school hours and than homework sucks a lot sometimes. You can communicate with teacher through diary.. If u want to speak with teacher you need to contact through office. Can't say teachers are open or not it depends on person to person. But I found them good and friendly in general.
