Im seeking admission for my kid to UKG. We are put up near Tambaram, so would like to know some best schools in south Chennai.

Can i get some reviews about Vivekananda in Chromepet?? i m looking LKG admission in and around tambaram. Now my son studying JM1 in Sundravalli school planning to shift anyother school need suggestions.

We have started the school search just 1 week back. There is a Velammal vidyashram started in Mambakkam which we have appled for. Maharishi VidyaMandir is closed for admissions for UKG.
I dont think SSM would have admissions to UKG.
Also a National public school is about to be opened for 2013-14 near Global hospitals.
I guess admissions to new schools should be easier, but we do not know about the standards of education atleast for a couple of years. And its the other way round for older schools.

@janakianand are you not satisfied with SSM? I have heard that Sundaravalli is good and its difficult to get admission..

Good to know your choices.... May i know ur location in tambaram (also the direction ...east or west ??) so that i can give u some more choices...

You can also try Omega, kolapakkam....Boaz school....

Btwn, where is ur kid studying now?...

As you said getting an admission in some schools is not a big deal, but getting it in right schools matters.....Totally agreed !!!

@cselvamca We are residing in Rajakilpakkam, East tambaram.
He is in Eurokids now.
Do you have any idea if admissions are still open for these schools?

I think in most of the schools, the admn should be open.... coz there is some rule from CBSE for next yr that admn should be in Feb month.... (even b4 that some schools had completed admn...)

I am sure Omega is still open....
GKM Vidyashram, CBSE - is still open.... (this is near SSM school, perungalathur)...

Will check for other schools and let u know....

For your ques reg SSM in this thread to another person..... SSM had good name but now they lost their reputation.... Heard more parents r planning to get TC this time.... even i have applied for SSM but had not go for the interview....

@KokilaSridhar I am satisfied with montessori system in SSM but the past two years they increased the fees around 40K including transportation but they assured for the consecutive years there will be hike only 2k per year. I feel like 80K for JM1 is bit high. Moreover i am not clear whether the academics are good. Just i planned to change because of fees.

And please let me know the schools which are admission started for LKG in and around pallavaram.

GKM started just 4 years back....it's CBSE school.... They had been in the educational institution for more than a decade...

They r issuing the application now at the cost of Rs.500.....

Admission procedure is simple... get the application along with the kid, will be called for the interview... once selected, remit the fees...

Fees structure is approx Rs. 30000 per year (excluding transport).... Transport fees is 3500 per term (3500*4 term=14000)

MAV is good...... But pls check with their CBSE affiliation, i think still they have not got it...(though they have applied it for)....

Will check for some schools around pallavaram and let u know....

I have been to APL, Gateway and MAV yesterday. The fees in APL and Gateway are a little higher. I did not find MAV satisfactory. Also i have a new confusion now, regarding the syllabus, CBSE Or ICSE??

APL and Gateway are international schools obviously their fees will be higher than CBSE schools. So decide about the education that u want to give it to your kid. If its international there is lot of schools like Omega, Gateway, Sishya etc., If its CBSE look for Sundravalli, Vivekananda, MAV, PON vidyashram etc., Kindly update if any schools are issuing forms for LKG admission.
