All,

I want to thank you first for taking time to read this discussion thread and provide your valuable feedback that is going to help me decide where to enroll my kids.

We live in US and planning to relocate to Chennai in September. I have twin girls - 4 yr and 3 months old and are studying in preschool here (LKG equivalent). I wanted to get your opinion about the schools in ECR / OMR area as we are planning to move to an apartment in that area. I did some research in the website and read reviews from others and collected the following information. We want our kids to go to a school that will be good both academically and also focus on overall development of the kid - we are not particular about international school - in fact if we find a non-international school that meets our criteria we would prefer - not inclined to pay huge fees unless there is a significant difference in the quality of education and care. The fee information is based on 1 year fee - again there are different figures in different posts so not sure if this is correct.

1) Gateway International-CBSE Padur
 Good infrastructure and facilities
 Teachers are understanding
 Location seems to be good
 Overall good reviews;
 Annual Fee - 65,000
2) PSPB Inside L&T  50,000
 No info available about infrastructure, facilities, teachers etc
 No update about location either
 Annual Fee - 50,000
3) Bala Vidya Mandir (BVM) Bolleni Hillside OMR
 Heard mixed feedback about infrastructure, facilities, teachers - someone has commented that a   sewage plant near by causing wastage on the street
 Review mentioned about good academically but not much facilities and extra curricular activities
 Annual Fee - 40,000
4) Billabong    Neelangarai
 Good infrastructure and facilities
 Teachers are understanding;
 Location seems to be good
 Overall good reviews;
 Annual Fee - 1,00,000
5) Sishya   Thoraipakkam, OMR
 No info available about infrastructure, facilities, teachers etc
 No update about location either
 Annual Fee - 30,000
6) HLC  Near DLF  60,000
 Good infrastructure and facilities
 Teachers are understanding
 Location seems to be good
 Overall good reviews;
 Annual Fee - 60,000
7) Hiranandani - CBSE  Siruseri
 No info available about infrastructure, facilities, teachers etc
 No update about location either
 Annual Fee - 50,000

It would be extremely helpful if you can provide your feedback based on your experience and guide me through the process. If you prefer to discuss over phone please email me your contact # or email id and i will get in touch with you.

I'm aware of the fact that i'm moving after the school year begins but hope it won't be a major hurdle with their school.

Thanks again for your help

Hema.

Hi,

We are in Canada and looking to move to chennai.  If anyone can help with review between the following two schools, that would be very helpful.  I have a 6 1/2 year old and a 3 year old.  Really in need of a review on the below schools.

1. Gateway International - Neelankarai  VS.
2. Vael's Billabong - Neelankarai

Between the two schools, not too sure which one is good.

Please share your finding's.

Thank you.
