Hi
We r in Bangalore. Next year we r relocating to chennai near Vandalur. I want to admit my daughter in class 6 for next year. I would like to get the views of both SSM and DPS.Pls help.
Parents interested in admitting their Kids in SSM should consider moving closer to the School to reduce Transportation charges as the School plans to do away with private transport in the next few years.
Also SSM township adjacent to the School is ready for occupation and I believe some of the Owners would like to rent out their flats there.
I would like to know if ssm provides admission for sm3 that is ukg.. I hear it€™s a 3 year program from Pre-kg to ukg and there is no admission for lkg and ukg. Is that true?
Hi All, I have got admission for my Kiddo in SSM for JM1 and PSBB Millennium School OMR for Pre-KG after Interaction Session. Both are at same distance from my home. I am in a decision making dilemma. Please help me with your suggestions.
My questions on SSM @ Perungalathur
5 years Montessori Learning Center (MLC) (JM1, JM 2, JM 3, SM1 and SM2)
My questions around this - How are the teachers in MLC, how much % of them have undergone formal training in Montessori System?
I understand that they teach children the discipline and how to respect elders, that's good. But at the same time are they encouraging children to ask challenging questions to teachers?
How frequently can parents interact with teachers?
Will they allow parents to have a look at their children's classes and other amenities?
CBSE Syllabus from 3rd Standard to 12th
How are the children's coping when they switch from Montessori to CBSE system when they reach 3rd standard?
How good are teachers in terms of experience and expertise who teach CBSE Syllabus from 3rd to 12th standard?
I see a good area of ground and other sports facilities, that's fine, but do they encourage students to actively play in ground or will they emphasize learning over sports.
Will they allow the students to attend inter school competitions?
How good is their alumni network?
Do they label children's based on their preconceived notion as Good, Average and Bad and only focus on Good Kids?
My questions on PSBB Millennium @ DLF Garden City, Thazhambur, off OMR
I know PSBB in KK Nagar and Nungambakkam are reputed. But how is the standard of PSBB millennium OMR is it in par with KK Nagar? What is the teacher student ratio?
How good are teachers in terms of experience and expertise who teach CBSE Syllabus from 3rd to 12th standard?
What are extra-curricular activities done, given they have very ,limited space for sports area.
Do they encourage children to ask challenging questions to teachers?
Do they label children's based on their preconceived notion as Good, Average and Bad and only focus on Good Kids
Please reply me at the earliest, as I have to make a decision soon.
All the private Schools in Chennai have increased their fees for the new academic year.SSM has also hiked the fees.It is really becoming difficult for parents to cope with with the ever increasing school fees.SSM management says they would not resort to any hikes from next academic year.
Saranganesan,
My kid initially studied in ssm till lkg.then we moved to usa. After a yr while return i didnt get ssm seat so i have to choose alternative so went to vellammal.
Ssm cons:
2 yrs of my kid at school. I couldn't contact his teacher. Manytine tried and could not. Lot of procedure to meet. So transparancy is missing. I didnt know daily what my kid doing.
Very strict on all rules even small kids and parents. (Both good and bad).
If i book flat on ssm then get seat kind of system.
Fees very high.
Ssm pros:
Very good school. Breakfast lunch provided. No homework till 2nd (not sure this is good).
1.You can contact the class teacher at the given time and make a call before the scheduled time to the office. 2.Still admissions going on here and there. 3.If you say you are in rental home then they " marketing " the offers in school & flats, but not forcing way. 4.One big thing is every items included on the fees mentioned not like others - like books, uniform, lunch, snacks, karate, swimming, tours, field trips etc, but nowadays with school transport its north of Rs.100000
Hi, My son is studying for the last 3 years. I would say the school is very good providing communication and every week Saturday 10am to 2 pm you can go and visit his class teacher and principal. They are also good in transparency, they are communicating everything systematically. I also feel that the fee is little more but when I compare with other schools facilities, food, Montessori type learning, less stress, I concluded this is better. And the transport fee is high when compared to other schools. If you have taken the own transport then it will be better. Yes I accept they are promoting their flats to the parents. In this marketing world these are all very common. But they are not disturbing us. Anyway the decision is up to us whether to buy or not.
