I am also planning to join my kid for 1st grade in Olive school. I have shared details via email.

My children are studying there and I do not recommend that school becuase:

No separate electronic boards for each classroom

Poor administration

Teachers change every year as they are not able to retain the talented teachers

Very poor strength in classes above 3rd std

I'm planning to change the school next year and many of the parents have withdrawan admision in mid of the year due to poor coaching.

I dont agree with Rajakilpakkam, as my children love this school as much as I do. Electronic boards are not in every class room but I dont see that as a big drawback as it is only a teaching aid.

Management is easily approachable and very courteous. I know that they have terminated a few non performing teachers but overall the staff quality is ok.

It is a new school and have not done much publicity but all their lower classes are full(just like any new school) and they limit to 30 per class.

I dont see these as a good reason to change schools citing poor coaching. In fact they follow the exseed sylabus and you really dont have to depend very much on the teachers ability.

I personally think that squarely blaming on teachers skills is not proper as we as parents also have an important role to play in bringing out the true potential of our children

Its good school to start with, rather hunting for admissions in reputed schools where chances are very low. Principal is very operative and well qualified teachers are there. Also they are following EXSEED syllabus which are very good .

Less capitation fees compared to other schools and they are transparent to parents.

Anyone know about pre-kg admissions in Olive Public School? Have they started? How much is the capitation fees and term fees for Pre-KG?

Gopinathj 2013-01-15 09:38:36

 Admission already started..

HI all,

I new to this community..please suggest a good cbse school near west/east tambaram.

alexhkong 2013-10-08 10:48:48

dont take admission in this school..they are only money minded and fees are almost on the higher side when compared with schools which has proper affiliation and there is affiliation from cbse or recognition from the state govt. no qualified teachers..teachers keep in changing every computer for the whole school students to study. they claim to follow x seed syllabus but doesnt follow the methods of x seed syllabus

Please select your kid's school with care. Please do not admit your kids in a school which has no recognition and not affiliated to any board. You can check the sites of respective boards (CBSE,ICSE etc) and education departments to know whether a school is properly recognised and  affiliated. If you admit your kid to a non recognised school, you are giving him/her education which is not recognised by any board. You will face the consequence when your child have to appear for Board Exam or when you want to get transfer from the school for any reason. If your child have to appear for Board exam, he/she needs to be studied under a recognised board. If you want to get transfer to another recognised school , the TC has to be attested by the respective board and the board will not attest the TC, unless the school  is registered properly (you will get admission in another unrecognised school, they won't need any TC at all). Please do not believe the false confirmations of school authorities that they will get recognition soon. As per law , a school should not be run without recognition from State (and without recognition one cannot apply for  affiliation at all ) and such schools may get closed at any time(refer the Chettinad A schools case).
Unfortunately some schools running in the area are unrecognised schools and Education Dept, through Newspapers requested parents to be aware of such schools.
My humble advice to all who seek admission in schools is to enquire properly and at the same time please get yourself aware of the State Education Rules.

I have enquired the school and got the following info. The school has been running as a state board recognised Matriculation school until two years back, but decided to shift to the CBSE board, for which they are yet to get the affiliation. They are transparent and have mentioned that in their website also.To my knowledge, there has not been a single teacher that has left the school this year.......but that have only one smartboard which the management told that the count will be increased in the subsequent years.......Also most of the sorrounding schools have withdrawn the Exseed syllabus as it is very expensive and tough for the students.....but Olive is determined towards implementing it more effectively in the coming years........this is what I heard from the school management.....

Mr1........I think that you better stick to your own views on the subject than to pass personal comments about members in the forum.........please grow up Mr1................

Mr1 2013-11-21 13:58:00

Parent3... Better you understand how to respond back .. Looks you are much worried on comments over school .. if you are a parent either you would have agreed on facts ..or put counter statement with evidence. This is open forum and i know very well about subject of discussion. You need not teach me .. Looks you are still a Kid.

Dear Parent3, Can you please explain in detail  what is this "The school has been running as a state board recognised Matriculation school until two years back, but decided to shift to the CBSE board, for which they are yet to get the affiliation" means. Does it mean that the school is not a recognized one currently. I had seen the website of this school stating that this is a CBSE affiliated school. Now Parent3 is saying that the school is yet to get affiliation.... something smells fishy.

My son is also studying in Olive (Jr.KG) and i'm sure that this school is doing good in terms of learning. The activities are also comparatively gud than other schools.. yes, since they are new the one time admission fees was less in the previous years, but this yr it's 20,000/- but the fees remains the same as Rs.13000/- per quarter..

Hi Smiley4u,

I am also pllaning to put my son in UKG. But when I enquired, came to know that admissions are closed.

Mr1 2014-08-24 08:36:40

This school DOES NOT HAVE CBSE Affiliation number yet. So pls. think twice if you joining this school.
For More info Pls. go to site.   and search based on this school name,. For past one year this school was looking for affiliation.

krishgondi 2014-11-05 17:49:59

Hi MR1,

Seems Olive Public School is still not affiliated to CBSE, any latest news on this?

Mr1 2014-11-23 12:33:02

Hi Siva,
No news about that yet. Most are looking for better school outside. Me too got adimission, leaving out.

cornell 2014-12-01 11:09:04

I think it is a long process for the new schools . Lot of new schools are in the process. Even Delhi Public School on Nallambakkam , NSN Memorial, MAV , AKG , etc.,,is in the process. Pls double check. In fact I got better feedback from the parents of Olive than NSN and MAV
I heard from the CBSE side they have fulfilled all the requirements but the state government is delaying in giving the NOC to convert to CBSE board as they were matriculation school earlier. I met with principal and she said thay are expecting the NOC any time. You can also try for vivekananda in from parents is so so so.....but i think they got some state rank few years extra curricular.......can any one give feedback of any school in and around chitlapakkam
