Oh.......But is this applicable only for Govt and Matric schools? What about CBSE schools?
This is applicable to all schools both cbse and matric. Cbse schools need NOC to run school from govt of tamilnadu and not just affiliation. RTE applicable to all schools.
So RTE states like this regarding admissions....
1. no capitation fees shd be collected.
2. no filtering of kids( interview)... If interview is not there, students are selected by lots??
Am i right?
but for those who have already paid donations this yr ????
Do you have proof for your paid donation? school were clecerly mentioning as fund(s) whenever they issue any receipt..
Another Question..many schools delared their students selection list based on some criterias(god only knows about that) in those case this RTE have any influence to regulate this?
TN govt. approaching School admission & other activites related to school with good initiative..
A good move by the Govt. It would be also welcoming if the Govt. detaches KG from the formal schools.
I came to know that, CBSE schools are not bound to this as they dont follow the state sylubus - not sure how far it is true. School which follow samacheer kalvi/matriculation will be following this.
@buv1983, Right to education act is for every child. it is in all schools. This is precisely the reason as per RTE schools both matric and cbse school gave 25% seats to economically disadvantaged children.
arjunr : what about the rest of the 75% seats? how r they being provided? if donation is not the criteria only the distance...then how come my son did not get a chance in CV chetpet which is not even 500 mtres from our place...
i know there is a sibling criteria but what about the rest of selection?
we r discussing about everything but no one knows how are the schools selecting the kids?
this is so confusing...i am not sure if TN govt. is indeed doing anything...
schools in chennai are only for people who can give huge donations, have recommendations, contacts in police, politics and influential people...
I am reiterating this...this is not a city for kids of people who r from other states..even local kids r not getting the seats they where are we in the scene?
someone called me for making a comment like that chennai is a place for corrupt politicians and influential people etc. She was trying to sympathasize me with a helping support...
we only have bhavans now that too is doubtful looking at the current scenario...
@jishnu2011 I m also aware of the scenario.
Since you belong to nationally mobile group, you need your child only in cbse. So atleast try in B list schools now and put child in any cbse school, later you relocate to another city you can try in new school. Dont waste any more time now, and get into any cbse school. If you are stable here going to live here, you have more options. You might get in bhavans. Else, dont waste time and get into any B list institution for now.
check LM Dadha sr sec school in choolaimedu. choolaimedu is near chetpet....it is a decent school, and started admissions. there is no donations...but hurry up...
else there is one small - as small as sherwood - but no donations - in united india colony in kodambakkam....very very nice school - chatrapathy DAV sr sec school...no donations...run by a maharastrian it seems. my neighbor studied there before relocating to bangalore..but hurry up here too...
else go to amrita vidyalayam...this is not near your house...advantage if you relocate anywhere you can take transfer to another AV...it is a decent school too...but 30k donations - many parents posted in a thread..there are still seats available....
