Hi,
How is sri kanchi mahaswami vidya mandir located at selaiyur, any idea about this school.
My daughter is studing there for the past one and half year from LKG. It is good, though there are some initial teething problems were there. They are doing good. The infrastructure is very good, calm and pleasent.
Hi Bala.. Heard that only hindus are studying there, is that real?
And are they preaching too much about Hinduism?
Whats your take?
Hi Bala,
Is it like they will focus most on religious thoughts even though v admit in CBSE (not for Veda patashala)?
Your suggestions really helps..
can u all know where is this school exactly located..is it via madambakam road is it via selaiyur..is this school the new cbse branch of Shankara vidhyalaya which is already there in selaiyur or both are different??
Hi njraman007, check out the link for the route map to KMVM..
http://goo.gl/maps/8CTvv
Yes, it is the branch of Shankara Vidyalaya in Selaiyur.
How is the feedback on this school??? Method of teaching, communication, overall personality development etc.. Is this school a good one???
are they started to give admission form now? my son will be 3yrs old in March 30th so can i get a admission for LKG? how is the coaching there and about extra curricular activities?
Only pre-kg seats are available in KMVM..
@Trilo: I think they will take your son for pre-kg as well.. Go and check it out..
Went to school today.. Very unorganised.. They were not able to manage the crowd..
Found one teacher shouting over phone very harshly.. I have never seen such rude teachers recently :(
Folks
This school is in Sembakkam (bus stop) not in Selaiyur..though it is managed by Kanchi Trust it is not too keen on admitting only Hindus (my friend applied though he is a Roman Catholic) but you can go and check first hand for your self.
Veda Patashala is only for Brahmin Boys aged 7 and above and currently i was told they have more than 200 boys studying Vedam (mostly from Poor and lower middle class Brahmin families) living in their hostel free of cost sponsored by Kanchi Trust inside the campus and CBSE School has no link especially for KG level.
All said, please go and do your first hand research for yourself because this is your Kids life and dont go by what others say...
Just my thought...All the Best for your kids admission soon.
Best Regards
Hi,
jus saw th below post from their website. Does it mean that even if we relocate then also thy will charge money ?
"Special note:
Parents will sign an indemnity that he will return/reimburse all the expenses incurred by the Vidya Mandir, should they choose to withdraw the child, notwithstanding this rule."
Also, how much fee will they charge if both parents are working? as per their website the fee for LKG is 30K but will they charge more depending upon the family income.
@Gopinathj - Do they still have vacancies for pre-KG this year. My son is 2 yrs 10 months will they take him in the ongoing pre-KG class. How much do they charge?
@Rahulraj: That spl note is applicable only for vedapadashala.. Yes they have vacancies for pre-kg but sooner the better as they are receiving good response it seems.. I think, fees will be around 30k which is far less caompared to most of the schools..
@LAKXVI: I think both vedapadashala students and CBSE students will be studying in the same class.. Because a print out in the principal office has the count of CBSE students and vedapadashal students in each section..
But still you can check with the parents/tudents of KMVM..
Folks
Vedapatashala boys are Aged Sevan (they are admitted only after their Upanayanam) and above so they cannot be part of Pre KG or LKG.
And i guess the above note mentioned by Rahulraj may be specific to Vedapatashala as it is a boarding school for poor kids and parents cannot withdraw as and when they decide.
These days all most all schools discourage parents withdrwaing their kids on relocation or anyother reason and if we parents decide to do so we have to pay a premium for the same.
For feed and other particulars, please meet them in person....
Best Regards
Do you have any idea , about the communication and language skills taught in the school ? Are they able to converse in english well ?
Hi Friends,
can anyone let me know the fee structure for Pre kg admission. As i heard from school, they already posted in paper and other media about their fees. the only problem is transportation and we r staying in nanmangalam, we have a short route to reach there but school has mentioned we have to takecare of all the transport things. but i am worrying about fee and education. Is anyone know how is the education? extra curriculars? spoken english? and students obedience? Pls share ur thoughts.....
@Trilo: Fees will be around 30k p.a..
Why don't you find some private transport?
Do they still have prekg seat?
LKG seats were over before few weeks.. If you are deciding to put in KMVM then meet the principal immediately..
HI Gopinath,
i checked with principal but as you said they mentioned 30K fee but donation they are expecting from us 50K, so all around 80K. Transport planned to arrange separately.
But how is the education there? extra curriculars and how they caring the kids? since we r joining my son for Pre kg i am worrying alot. i read some of others opinion about school and they mentioned some initial teething problem is there... but i din't hear anything about teaching and spoken english other areas.... pls share if you know the same
@Trilo: I dont have much idea about the school.. Even i tried to get the review about the school but didnt get much info..
But once I weent to the school, a teacher there was complaining about a kids progress to her parents in a bad way.. Also that teacher was shouting in phone in a rude manner.. Which i didnt like about the school..
One parent told everything is good.. But not sure :)
All new schools will have some teething problems initially and we need to give sometime for them to settle down. The CBSE school is open to All irrespective of caste or religion. The Vedapadashala is open to poor Brahmins kids only.Initially the donations were voluntary but now it seems they are demanding around Rs.50000/- which I did not like but there are parents who are willing to pay that much money.Anyway it is always better to find out about the quality of education ourselves.I checked with one parent they said the Quality of education is very Good and another parent said it is not worth the money that we have paid for.So it is really confusing. We need to do a thorough check before we admit our Kids in any school.
hi Gopinathj,
Are you put up near medavakkam? Which school is ur kid going to now? I'm planning to relocate to Medavkkam n trying to find a decent CBSE school tht will give importance to extra curriculars too, especially music, for my kid who will be in Class 1 by next yr. Could you please help me by shedding some light on this? Thanks..
