Pre KG Admission -DAV Public School velachery

Friends,

Any update about admission notification?

Prior they informed like after pongal will be notifying.Do not know about the channel they do whether in any new paper (sunday "The Hindu") or only through school notification board?

Is it like we have to sleep at the gate on the day before? or easy go to get the admission form?

I'm told by friend that admission forms will be available tomorrow. I'm going to look out tomorrow. I will update this thread when I have the information. Request you too update the thread based on your updates.

No Niviea, I confirmed it to be Monday (yesterday) and tried to reach the school by phone before I go. No body picked up and hence assumed it as a holiday. Tried calling them today as well and no response.

Let me continue to check. If you have an update, please share with me.

Just now i called school they said will be issuing forms on 23rd of jan (coming monday) from 9AM - 4PM.

Friends, Today I bought the application form around 10:30 AM after waiting for 1 hr. 30mins. I came to know one of the person of first 10 who received her\his form was slept or waiting around 5 AM today morning in the school... Until 10:30 AM I’m pretty sure the school have been sold around 300 forms and left behind me there were around 300 persons in the queue cost per form is 500 Rs. As said by the school they will be issuing until 4PM today so damp sure they will be selling 1000 forms .. School will be earning minimum 5 lacks today only on issuing forms. By spending few thousands for printing forms & 5 pages of booklets they will be going in lacks.. Approximately I guess for Pre-KG they will be having room for 6 sections & per section they will admit maximum 50 students (this is too much for Pre-KG) so out of 1000 forms only hardly maximum 300 students will be getting admission!!! . I know if they are limiting the application forms to 300 counts then I would have been slept yesterday night on the floor of school gate entrance.. thanks for spending 500 RS to stay\slept in my home itself.Filled form should be submitted only on 27th jan (this Friday) from 9 AM- 3PM..thought of going to home town to visit my parents and relatives by putting leave on Friday.. not sure now.. so sad… Is it parent are mandatory at the time of submitting filled form? Any prior experience in this school readers? Pls leave answer my question.

How is the selection procedure based on..We are satisfying below requirements..is it enough for getting admission?

1, My kid will be completing 2 years and 10 month as on 31st may.

2.We are between 5 KM radius from the school.

3.Parent are professional and working(Employed).

Today i have submitted my filled form. They recieved and segreeted the forms based on second language preference.

Result will be announced on 6th Feb 5PM at school notice board.

Fee structure they have mentioned in prospectus..for the whole academic year it cum around 40000 rs...

Mine is 289.what is yours? Do u know how many filled application forms have been submitted? Last yeat they had 6 sections for pre-kg and each sections around 50 students was accomodated so around 350 they admitted last year.

Yes results were declared yesterday around 5:50PM..

My son is in the selection list..admission is in on 9th Feb.

I feel the selection list count is very disappointed around 160 students was selected out of 900 around sold forms?is it not?

Congrats !!! What is the process followed for admission in DAV Velachery. Don't they have an interview to select kids.? Any other guess on the basis of selection. Should mom be a home maker..? I too reside in Velachery. I need to look out for junior kg admission for next year.

Process:

1.Application issue date will be announced 3rd or 4th week of dec.(this time it was 23rd jan.) announcement will be thro. 'The Hindu' sunday newspaper prior to the week.

2.Get the form and submit on announced date (this time we got 3 days time for submission) genrally we have to produce kids birth certificate,addressproof,parent eduction certificates,community certificate. some other criteria depending upon individulas like siblings,govt. officials, if hindhi is your second lang.then either father or mother should posses hindi in school or college(all should be attesed by a gazeeted officer)

3.Result will be announced after a week.

Selection criteria:

School only knows..my scenario is, we both are working not in govt. (also seen some other selected kids mother's are home maker), around 4 KM from school,tamil is our second lang. option. nothing spl.

Hi Niviea,

my daugher name was not in the list. are they considering Ration card as a mandatory address proof. in my case i had submitted my land line telephone bill.

Also, i heard they have a capacity to hold 300 students, now they have announced only 160. what about the remaining ? is there a second list for the remaining

Even my son's name was not there in the list. We stay in Alandur and we submitted passport as address proof.. not sure what their selectin criteria is :-( we chose tamil as second language.
