@sundhary, wondering why we didnt get the email, can you let me know the email id from which they sent. Can you also fwd that email to me email@example.com. Let me also check with them.
Hi Uma, Suva, Pradeepa....
This is Divya (DivineVictory) who wrote about HUS in the previous page.
My email is firstname.lastname@example.org! I moved from USA 2 years back and am moving to Sholinganallur this April. I was looking at all kinds of schools there.
Please feel free to email me, I changed my mind & decided not to put them in HUS after doing a lot of research, parents thoughts on academics and other reasons.
It is sad to hear that you have decided not to send your kids to HUS. If your decision was not due to personal reasons, Can you please share with us your research and thoughts.
Saved a trip to the school.
Spoke to the person responsible for admissions. She said lot of people are joining in June only and since it is LKG, it shouldn't be a problem to miss those 2 weeks in April.
I asked her if at all the school insists that those 2 weeks will be a good ice-breaker for the kids, can we atleast drop our kids a little late as we currently stay far and may not be able to drop the kids at 8:15 in school ... She said that shouldn't be a problem and I can check that with the school when I collect books from them during the end of this month ....
Hoping they inform us unambiguously then!
Hope this helps ...
My decision NOT to choose HUS was nothing personal, this is just my opinion and please do your own research and don't judge the school on what I say...
Basically I feel that the school has started only a year back, it needs a lot of grounding work, good teachers a stable principal (not sure if you all know that the principal Mrs Indira Rangan was let go recently and management is taking decisions now until a new principal is replaced, atleast thats what my friend informed me recently!
To compare it with HUS of Mumbai is too early, HUS Thane has been established a while back
Moreover my thought process is Hiranandani Community residents haven't occupied yet and once they do, quite a number of kids will be enrolled and the class strenth will grow, do they have the capacity to open up more sections in that building or will th class room student size grow.
The other concern was construction going on 1st floor with students in ground and 2nd floor.
Security was another concern, Construction needs to be finished completely in the school and around
For one full year the playground hasn't been ready and students are restricted to class rooms the entire day. They say playground will be started this year but I believe its very important to give children a breath of fresh air, some might differ..
Overall I think HUS Chennai is a good name brand school, it just needs to take its time to make its mark and I am sure this school will be a good choice and will shine 5 years down the road But as of now, I will let all of u wise parents make the decision...
Feel free to email me email@example.com
i was waiting for this mail , finally i got it... and i have query that they mentioned about the first term fee but v paid the first term fee during admisssion itself. wat about u all
as ur thoughts r correct, this school is having good name in north so in order to maaintain the standard they will do good ... it will shine with colours but if v wait til it shine v wont get the seat there.. thats the point..
every schoolo in omr also facing this typeof problems u mentioned
yes! @rspradeepa ... We also paid the first term fee during admission itself. Where do you stay now? Which class is your kid? Would you be able to attend April classes?
Received the email reg school opening and yes regarding the first term fee, it was collected during the admission itself. Guess, it is for the parent who had paid only admission fees and not the first term. Also if you look at the fees breakdown sheet, the second term fees are to be collected during June. Not sure why?
Any idea how much the book/uniform fee would be? How many cheques are we expected to carry that day?! One for book, uniform and 2nd term fee?
Do LKG kids have uniform too? Not sure if the common shops in Chennai which display boards "All School Uniforms Available" will know the HUS uniform pattern too.
now im in chromepet,, planning to shift near kelambakkam.. actually im planning to shift on 16 th april..
then regarding fee i inquired the staff incharge she said books uniforms will come around 6 to 7k... lkg students also have uniform.. v should get the shoes outside..
Saw a flat for rent in Ramaniyam WaterFront which is exactly 2 kms from school. Got to know of it through an advertisement in adayar times from the owner. We liked it and may mostly decide based on few other considerations. Will let you know if we do.
The flat seems fine and does seem to have lot of availability.
I know all of us have different preferences ... but incase any of you are interested, may be you can check. And, I am not aware of any other owner ... there was a specific number from Ramaniyam to contact for Rental. So, may be that would be a broker. So, lot of people may not want to go through a broker too ...
But, just thought will let you all know.
It would be good to know and interact more with other LKG parent-mates :)
@sundhary whats the rental in Ramaniyam? I have admitted my son to LKG and I am planning to shifting this april end to Akshaya Adena. What is your plan on transport to school. Checked with the transport Guy Batcha, he said the service will be only on the main road and we have to pickup and drop on OMR mainroad. I could see Ramaniyam slightly off mainroad. Infact Akshaya's Adena also 300 mtrs off main road. To school, it is around 3 KMs only. I requested the guy for the possibilty of picking up from the apartment. He said, please submit the form, so that they will make a visit to the place and decide. If you've not decided on the house, I would suggest Akshaya's adena also to consider, still flats are available. The rental is decent(for 2 bedroom - 12L + 1.5L mantenance , and the apartment is quite good.
Also would like to know, any parents from Akshaya's Adena?
@BKSaran, my only consideration is, I don't want to go for a flat with piped gas. I heard Akshaya's is piped gas. We have bought an apartment in XS Real Sienna (Opposite Chettinad hospital and adjacent Hindustan college) which doesn't have piped gas. So, we will eventually need the gas ... so, we don't want to surrender it now and later struggle getting a new connection.
The rent here is 3BHK - 18K (including maintanance for 1st year), 6 months advance.
Which side of the road is akshaya in? This Ramaniyam is on the same side as HUS.
I would be dropping kids in school in car. May be we could consider pooling on convenient days. Will be good to know about where other parents stay too ...
I am also facing same kind of issue as urs. I am staying in kelambakkam and my house is 300mtrs off from main road. I asked Batcha- transport guy. he is asking to come to OMR main road only and no other option. As I see all other school buses are picking the kids from their house step.
I am also upset on the transportation facility. we need to talk to the scholl inperson regarding it to find out the good solution.
@Sundari Akshaya's Adena isn't with piped gas. Akshaya is on the opp side of HUS @ Kazhipattur.
@ Leela, rightly said - lets talk to school mgmt, if it isnt working out.
Any idea what is the time of book/uniform collection? The school usually begins at 8:!5 .. will it be the same time?
I am planning to go on 28th. What about others?
im planning to collect on 28th...
actually i have a house at kanagapattu which is 10 minutes drive from kelambakam... i dont know whether the transport is available to that distance.. need to clarify with the driver...
give me the number of transport incharge.. i dont have the number of him...
Hoping to meet atleast a few of you in school tomorrow :)
@rspradeepa - contact Batcha for transport service - 9710536646
We have also admitted our son at Hiranandani in LKG. Nice to meet same group parents. We are still looking for a flat as close as possible to the school. Going tomorrow for the books.
Collected LKG books today. Fairly light-weight ... 2 books yet to be given tho'. Not much crowd ... and the process of decentralizing the book distribution in their respective classrooms made it more organized.
Uniforms would be given only in June and it is ok to come in normal colour dresses until uniforms are ready.
We wouldn't be attending school during April as we'll be shifting closer to school around May 1st only. Have informed the school ... They say it is ok ... hoping so!
Any parent here who sent their kids to LKG 1st day today?
We couldn't send as we are shifting near school only in May and have given a letter to the principal stating the same.
Would be interested to know the happenings at school today ... Any parent who sent their kids to LKG today, please let us know ....
Yes would like to know your experience and happenings @ school for LKG 1st day.
We couldnt send ou kid as we are also shifting in May.
Spoke to an LKG parent - Vinod - whom I met during the book collection day.
These are the updates -
-- They are planning to have 3 sections for LKG but for these 15 days, all kids are being put into the same section
-- No classes as such ... they are just having like a play school type where kids are getting accustomed to school.
Overall, my understanding, the coordinator for LKG was patient with the parents answering their questions and it was fairly a good start!
Hoping for the same good start in June too :)
planning to put my son in 4th next year in Hiranandhani
any updates on how the teaching for this class is . Has the new principal come. Any major changes happened.
Any update that was given on the last day of school for LKG kids for classes beginning in June?
Please pass on the details ... would be helpful for the rest of us who didn't make it to school in April ...
