Hi chumpy,

We also had similar questions. We talked to a few experienced teachers and they told us to wait. Apparently, children have to become >8 years old to process the instructions correctly and perform the yoga asanas in a proper fashion. If they do it the wrong way, it will only have negative effects. At such a young age very few kids can follow instructions to do the asanas correctly in a group class. However, if you are planning a private lesson then that is okay because the yoga teacher can correct your son whenever he goes wrong, but this is very hard to achieve in a group class.
As far as swimming goes, the earlier the better... Our younger one started swimming when he was 3 years. We never forced him to get into the water or learn any strokes. He just got used to it and enjoyed swimming and the water.

Hi, My kid turned 3 last month, i'm also thinking about starting some activities for him. He has already joined one group where they do some basic exercises and play games together.

How about starting with musical instruments?? My hubby plays very good Tabla and kid is also fond of it now :)

But also i have this question in my mind - is this the real interest of my kid?? or he is good in something which i am not able to analyse ..??

Thanks shoba & pritam for your feedback...its true that we cannot force the kid for our interest.....Infact my son is exposed only to full bucket of water. i have never taken him to swimming pool or so. i really dun know how he will react.... have to try once...
