Can you pls help me in shortlising one among three below schools for my 2 year old son?
1) Euro Kids santhome (did visit the school, but couldnt see find any reviews form net or ppl)
2)Sprouts Montessori (I liked it)
3) Bamboola( I understand strength is big high, but still a nice place for playgroup)
Again, all above are got hearsay.Pls share your opinion
Eurokids is a chain of pre-schools and i have friends who had sent their children there. My son attended summer camps at Bamboola and enjoyed them a lot. THough I have seen Sprouts montessori, I have not checked them out as my kids are into regular school now.
I strogly believe that the formative years for the kids have to make them extremely happy in an environment where they are not inhibited.
Before you decide, do visit more kinds of schools and what is the education you want to provide for your child. You can make an appointment and see akshar-arbol International school at T Nagar also. (Ph: 3257 3275)
Bambino Kindergarten is an excellent school too.
Thanks for your inputs!i appreciate and shall check out.
Hope you are doing well.We both are sailing in the same Boat.I have not visited Sprouts Montessori in Mylapore.I toured their website and found Interesting.Could you share more stuffs about the school?I am planning to put my 2 years old son in Play group and visited few schools in Gopalpuram and CIT Colony. But i am not satisfied.I am very keen to know if your son is admitted in any play school now and how is it?
I have got my son admitted in sprouts montessori .He 'll be hopefullly joining toddler group by vijayadhasami.
Regarding reviews,to be very honest, i read a few reviews from parentree and did more of a gut feel judgement during my visit before i got my son admitted. Oneof my neighbours is also getting her son admitted in pre-kg or pp1. so,i am hoping for the best.
Same with me, Im moving to CV Raman road shortly (near TTK road) in Alwarpet. Can you let me know the good play schools in that area.
Is montessori method of learnin help the kids in later years. what do you feel?
I did read quite a few articles on the montessori methodologies and was impressed. The concepts are good and reach out right when taught with the right teaching aids.
One particular disadvantage i understood is the system has not been understood to its full potentiality and taught in Indian schools in the higher classes. so, IMHO, it is a nice idea to have the child in montessori and let him explore without inhibitions in the lower classes(KG).
Great! That is nice to hear and best wishes to you kid!If you could share the fee structure that would be really helpful for me to decide if you can
it is 3k per month. For the initial registration/stationery/field trip, they collect 10k which is one time.
Thank you very much for your information.I do visited Sprouts and Impressed. But My concern is i wish to put my son in PS or DAV for his long term schooling from KG Onwards. If i happen to get the admission for him in PS for pre KG all this Montessori type of teaching will not give him much benefit and only for play group for a month of 6 months, the fee is on the little higher side.
Sprouts is really good and the kids would really enjoy learning.i would prefer this if the kid is going to be in the school till 6 years.
Hi, Im also targetting PS & DAV for my son (Feb 2009 born). Do you know the procedure for admission? Also do you stay in the 3km radius for both the schools? Do they expect donation / recommendation etc?
As long as PS is concerned its very easy to get through for Pre Kg if your child is 2 1/2 years completed for the coming academic year. They need to talk during their admission process. For DAV they give prefernce for ex service man on top, secondly central board employee, and then to the kids whose parents are teachers by profession. But remember they do not have Pre Kg and they admit kids from LKG Only. This is the information i got from my neighbors!
im a mom of a 3 1/4 yrs girl. she has been doing her nursery in eurokids.
she is happy and enjoys school. but since she has to go to jr.kg, im thinking of putting her in a montessori environment as it will give her more space to explore her interest.
what would be your suggestions about shifting from eurokids methodology to sprouts montessori's methodology.
im thoughtful if i do the right thing by changing her already happy ground state.
please share your insights about sprouts and if there are any disadvantages.
I have become a great believer of montessori methodologies after my kid started going to sprouts. He has been taken care well and has constructively engaged in activities in Sprouts. Overall, it is a nice place.
And regarding shifting from eurokids to montessori ways , i would say if you allow you kid to be in montessori till class 1, it is really fruitful. If it is just for a year or so, it wouldnt matter lot.
to the sprouts community and other parents,
please note, sprouts has started an extended hours montessori program on weekdays between 3.30 to 5.30 pm.
workings parents who need a safe, meaningful place after school, parents who believe in montessori but have put their kids in traditionl schools considering the strenuous main school admissions can benefit out of this.
I have been sincerely looking for montessori schools for my kid, but the good one in our locality didnt have any vacancy. so im travelling to mylapore to avail this opportunity from sprouts for my kid.
the directress is very experienced and im sure many kids can benefit from her.
interested parents please call 9790912661, 9841122788.
sorry, i missed your reply. i just saw.
thanks for the reply. yes, sprouts is a good place. i would have definitely enrolled my kid for the regular program if i dont stay very far.
i have to travel 40 min to reach sprouts. we did consider about shifting house but it didnt happen. yes, i was looking to put for atleast 3 yrs until 1st or 2nd.
ultimately practicality matters the most. when i wanted to give stress free holistic education, it didnt make sense either to stress my kid with travel. so we couldnt enroll for th regular hrs.
keep in touch.
