Hello Everyone,

I am looking for some good schools near banaswadi, kasturi nagar, ramamurthy nagar for my 2 year old son. Please help me in finding nearby schools.

I just saw another thread where Royal Concorde International Schools is mentioned. For that school my son should be 2 years 10 months by June 1'st 2010. Is this common criteria for all schools? My son would be 2 years 7 month by then.

Thanks & Regards,

Neeraj and all:

I am in the same boat. For your question, Anveshana in HBR Prakruthi Layout is one of the best schools that nurtures good values and principle into any kid.  So, you can survive for another 3 years.

My daughter goes there and would be 5 yrs 7 months in Jun 2010- I am looking for good ("reasonably feed") CBSE schools in Banaswadi/HRBR/HBR area that can admit her into 1st standard.

How good is IGCSE ?  I am even thinking of continuing her in Anveshana which practises this , I suppose, given Sibal has taken off exams for 10th std.

Also in the light of the new announcement by Sibal, is this age criteria still that strictly followed for CBSE?

Thanks in advance

Raj V

I think you should try with CMR National Junior Public School in HRBR Layout. Your son had be 2.5 months for him to get the admission.

Admission is open through out the year and they have montessori way of education. I have enrolled my son there.

About Royale Concorde, my neighbour could get admission for her daughter who was about 2.7 years though they ask for 2.10 years. She told me that they do consider children of lesser age. Do not know the other criteria (if any) though. I think you still can give a try for your son.

Yes they do consider if the child does well in the interview. The interviews is less of a test and more of a way of finding out if the child is capable of keeping up in class being a little younger  than the rest.

Thanks for all the responses.

How about the Presidency School in Kasturi Nagar? Any feedback would be helpful.

I also had one more doubt, since my son is 2 years old rightnow, would it be better to put him in some play school like Euro Kids for one year and then try for Nursery admission in some school next year? Does it help child in any way?

daddycool 2009-10-05 21:12:54

Me and wife had a chance to visit Euro kids in Banaswadi and we liked it and they were good. We had a chance to talk to the teachers and the person who runs it but unfortunately the time did not work out for us. They have two slots in the morning, something like 8:30am - 11:00am and 11:30 - 2:30 (tentative). We were also concerned with the fact the kid has to travel in the maruthi vans and also after 2 yrs with them then kid has to pass an test to get enrolled into regular school.

You could also check Ankoor montessory behind Big bazzar. School has got good ventillation and it is very good place to start with.

Neeraj from my experience i think admitting  him to a play school in the beginning is better as school will be a whole new world for him and he will need to get used to the concept before he attends a normal school with fixed procedures.

I too was considering RCIS - but just read another post on this forum that the teacher put tape on a child's mouth since she was talkative !!!

Am having second thoughts now.

My friends son fits in the age critirea and when they met the vice principal @ cmr, she asked them to come in may again with the kid . SHe seemed very sweet and positive, but nothing was given in writting that the kid will be taken. Is this the normal process. Is there any assurance that the kid will be taken? or will my friend have to look else where, as all the other schools will finish the admission process in the nxt 1-2 months?

daddycool 2009-10-12 23:00:42

This did happen couple of times with us but we kept checking with them for 2 months and finally it happened. I guess its normal but you need to ask your friend to keep in touch with school and find out why its getting delayed.

thanks alot daddycool for the quick response. Just wanted to know if u too had an interaction with the teachers/ vice principal first and by when did u finally get the forms?

daddycool 2009-10-14 04:22:20

Yes we met the teachers who explained us in detail and also they took us around the class rooms and showed what type of activities the kids would do and what should be our contribution and theirs. We met the Vice Principle, Principle and the President. When we went my son was 2.2 yrs old and they told us clearly that we need to wait till he completes 2.6 yrs but we were given the form immediately and we submitted the relevant documents like photo, DOB certificate etc. We follwed up every 2 months and finally we met the President of the school and was confirmed after 1 week

tpj 2009-10-14 04:58:30

thank you for the details. Was wondering which is the best time to approach them for such queries, as now they are busy with admissions in other classes ( like kg, 1st standard) and seemed to be in a rush with all parents?

daddycool 2009-10-20 01:06:45

I think 10-12 pm weekdays would be good. You can just walk in and ask for the Vice Principle.

Does this CMR NPS belong to the NPS group?

 Former member 2009-10-30 15:05:40

CMR NPS belongs to CMR Group, but NPS team have a role in Management partly.

Motor 2009-11-03 13:39:26

Does CMR NPS focus only on academics? How is the extra caricular activites.

I am confused between Presidency and CMR NPS for my son

pollan 2009-11-03 16:33:38

I had gone there personally and checked if this CMR NPS belongs to the NPS group. The vice-principal told that this has not connection to the NPS and the  management is totally different.

So, looks like it is totally different management, Admission to this also looks easy, it you want to put in  montessori, you can right away walk pay a fee of 65K and from tomorrow your kid can go to the school :)

 Former member 2009-11-03 16:40:34

did they give you a break-up for the 65k?

Motor 2009-11-04 08:44:44

Dr Gopalakrishna the NPS founder is in the advisory board of CMR NPS thats all the relation between both. .

For LKG upfront you need to pay ~69000 of which

~63000 is tution fee

3000 admission fee

1000 registartion fee and some 300 rs miscl fee.

No option to pay in installments and CMR NPS tution fee is the highest amongst

CMR (63K), RCIS (50K), Presidency (50K)

I have submitted the admission form for CMR NPS and calling them from last 3-4 weeks for UKG admission but they are saying it is not yet started. Does anyone else has any updated in admission process and what is the selection criteria?

SuryaMeena 2010-02-18 14:23:17

My daugther is selected for UKG in CMR NPS. But as she is just falling short by 12 days for 1st standard ( CMR NPS required 6 year as on Aug-10) i am rethinking on this. Does anyone know whether they will entertain if we make a request to give admission to 1st Standard?

RV 2010-02-19 07:43:18

As many would not know, the age limit is being practised by only certain schools and it is in their discretion. CBSE or Karnataka state (other than their state board) does not have any age criterion - I believethat hard limit is 5 years as practisedin Tamilnadu and Andhra.  Talk to Sabitha who can enable this.  Good luck.

chaitalee 2010-09-20 19:27:07

Hello RV - can you provide me some more insight on Anwesha - I am keen on the method but worry abt it being a state syllabus.

MrsP 2010-10-04 20:33:34

any idea wh CMR NPS giving  application forms for LKG  for 2011?

kaviraja 2010-10-05 21:46:46

How is the montessori system in CMR NPS ?  Is it good?

 Former member 2010-10-11 16:00:04

CMR NPS has a lovely montessori team - huge class-rooms, etc.

I have seen it personally.

However, their timings are 8.30am to 12.30.  It was tough for my child - so I decided against it !

kaviraja 2010-10-11 17:22:57

thanks for the information. Which school does your child go now and how is it?
