Anyone knows about/sends child to Valley school on Kanakapura Road? My 5 year old son is an extremely sensitive and very intelligent boy who is not getting adequate attention in the school he is going to. Also the attitude of the school/teaching seems to be to do everything "correctly" and there is no fun in learning. My son feels stressed in such a system and I am exploring schools which emphasise on the processes of learning, where competition is only used to bring the best in child and not to 'win over others'. The school should encourage parents to meet and discuss with teachers.
The so-called international schools are extremely expensive, hence I feel helpless. SOmetimes I wish my child was either less brilliant or less sensitive! Please help.
do not get discouraged . there are very many schools in bangalore where you have sensitive, loving and caring teachers/adults ["teachers" are passe in many schools as many feel adults learn from children]
one of the schools i can recommend to you is bhavya.check out www.bhavyalearning.org..
it is self explanatory
from what i understand of your needs i think this is the place for your child .
You could also look into the following schools :

Hi Shobha and Swati
Thanks a ton.
Any luck in finding reviews about 'The valley school , Bangalore'. Do you know if the kids in 'The Valley school' are academically competitive enough with their peers in schools like Kumaran's/NPS.
I know a couple of folks near my home who send their kids to Valley. Though I do not personally know how they compare with their peers at the abovemetioned schools, the parent of one of the child did tell me that she has to teach her kids once they get back from school. She says that the children are care free and do not really study much and that is the way to be. However, once they reach the eighth grade they are made to sit and study.
The mother keeps osciallationg between the feelings of concern for her chindrens education and of releif that they are not burderned with studies. Hence, it is difficult for me to ascertain her exact feeling for the school.
Whether the children will sit tight and study after enjoying 8 years of freedom is anyones guess.
One think though with these "alternative" schools is that it is best when they have a good faculty and this keeps changing. So I guess so does the quality of education imparted.
i do accept the fact that the children are let free in this school to understand things practically and to learn thru discovering on their own, but the moment they reach 8th i have seen children changing on their own ,i,e they start becoming responsible on their own with out their parents coaxing them and they are able to decide things on their own without anybodys support . but to see all these things the parents should be little patient and understand the child
I am planning to move back to Bangalore and am looking out for a good school for my 12 year old. She is mildly dyslexic and I am looking for a school with empathetic teachers (if such a school exists!!) I did check out the website of The Valley School but am unable to decide. Can someone help?
Can anybody throw some light on the Fee structure of The Valley school?
