Most reputed  ICSE schools require child to be 5 yrs and 8 months+ as on 1st june to be admitted in 1st std. (Sishu Griha crieterion).

The normal trend is they admit 4+ for LGG, 5+ for UKG and corresponding age for 1st std in major ICSE schools.

However, child should have completed min 5 yrs as on April 1st to be admitted in 1st std, and min 15 years as on 1at April for 10th class in CBSE.

Thanks for ur reply sheetal.

one small clarification. If the child is enough to complete 5yrs for std 1 then he will b 14 when he goes to std 10.

As i dont want to waste my child 1yr , i'm very particular abt the age. He completes 4 yrs 8 months as of 1st june 2011 . But some schools r not ready to take him for UKG.
