plannin to shift to north bangalore -hebbal .so wouldlike to know about the best schools that side. My kid is 3 right now but would like to enrolhim in 2010. how is vidya sagar? please suggest
Have heard very good things about Vidyaniketan and Mallya Aditi. Mixed about Vidyashilp but many Vidyashilp parents really like it (recently they have become much more academic and open to parents as well I hear). Good luck!
I hear Vidya Sagar is very good and very tough to get into. Please include your child in the waiting list even if u choose to decide later.
I've also heard that Vidya Niketan (fed by Vidya Sagar pre-primary children) is one of the best schools in Bangalore.
I've heard mixed feedback about Vidya Shilp (fed again by choice of Vidya Sagar parents). Specifically that it focuses too much on extra currics and too little on academics. I think it is the more premium school of the 2 schools - re. fees, facilities, international curriculum etc.
There is Akshara Montessori in Yelahanka - if you are interested in the system.
There is a CMR NPS in Kalyan Nagar - I suggest you avoid the school!
thanks a lot for the detailed info...will definitely try for vidya sagar and try to get into vidyaniketan if possible
why avoid cmr nps?.... have heard very good reviews about it . Wanted to know why u suggested otherwise
Even I would like to know as to why one should avoid CMR NPS.
Also, isn't VidyaNiketan same as Vidyashilp? I was told that the management is same and that VidyaNiketan is the name of the Primary School division.
Vidyasagar is the preschool that feeds 2 schools:
1) The more academic Vidyaniketan
Harder to get into
2) The more "alternative" Vidyashilp
Relatively easier to get into
Hope this helps.
I have personally had bad experiences with CMR NPS.
a) My 6 yr old son was bitten by a stray kitten at school and I was told that it was his mistake for going near it.
b) My son got smacked on the head for writing on the wrong side of his note book.
c) There is no security/watchman at the gates.
d) There is no aayamma to mind the toilets. A horrible incident - involving a 1st std girl - occured at a lonely toilet last year. The children have been told not to use toilets if the floor is lonely (BTW the toilets are unusable, anyway)!
Hope people learn from my experience!!
Thanks for the information - other than point "a", were the other issues reported to the Management? What was their reply.
This school is one of the options which I am keeping open for my child - hence curious.
Hi MuraliR, I have replied to your Inbox. Suffice to say the management was in defense/denial about every issue.
My niece studies in that school - but in the 10th, and I was considering it for my son.
I also read on a different thread that in RCIS, a primary school child's mouth was taped by the child since she was very "talkative."
Now, if this is going to be the attitude of teachers - who are expected to have virtues like patience and caring nature - not sure where the system of education is going to lead our next generation.
I found it very tough to find a good school (ready to give admission, ie!) in Bangalore North.
a) I applied in Vidya Niketan, didn't even get a letter for the entrance test - admission is that tough.
b) I hear Clarence is good, but very tough to get into.
c) RCI, many say the school is good. But isn't relatively new and run by a politician? I think there was some court-case about the school encroaching into public property and cordoning it off as a playarea for their children?
The best bet would be to apply to Vidya Sagar while your child is a toddler and hope for the best!!
i got the admission for my daughter for lkg at cmr nps and RCIS.so was planning to put her in cmrnpscos i heard that it is bttr out of the 2 but after reading your response iam in a fix.many of my frenz kids r in cmr and they r all happy wth the school.
Yeah, I know! It is very tough when you are at such crossroads - I've been through the same situation. Just make your choise and hope for the best!! All the best, whatever you choose!
Do ou have any info about Rashtrotthana Vidya kendra, Thanisandra? How is the education & teachers' quality there? If you can give some info, that will be really useful.
Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra (RVK) is a very good school. They have a branch in Ramamurthynagar. Education and teaching is good. Special attention is given to value-based education. They are celebrating their Annual Day on 19th Dec at 5.00 p.m. all are welcome i think. try your luck.
Thanks a ton for the reply... It really helped me take a decision. I heard that the school imparts good traditional values with emphasis on Indian culture.
Check list for selecting school
Background and Qualifications of the teachers and Magt,Feedback from Parents and students, Facilities, future plans like extention upto 12th Std, Teaching procedures/Methods, Training Prog. for Teachers for skill upgradations
Teachers turn over is very high in Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra (RVK) , don't listen to parents advice and big fat school fees matches only to big building.
Any Idea How Jain Heritage,Hebbal is? I'm trying to admit my son there!
Thanks for the feedback. Quite in contrast to what many others have told & written. The fees is 35 K... Its about 27 K in Sindhi school, 1 lakh in Jain school. Sindhi anyway admits only if there is influence or if u r of their caste, so no point trying. All schools charge more or less around the same amount.
Can you send me your contact number.. I need to discuss with you about RVK . You can mail me the same on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you all for the feeback..but i still i am not able to decide on selecting scolls for my daughters for class 1 and class 6(ICSE). Currently we are in Mysore and trying to move to bangalore near hebbal in the coming acedemic year 2010-11. I'll be very grateful for the valuable thoughts. I prefer CBSE or ICSE. Some scan on schools has been done already..like RVK and Vidyaniketan and they seem to be on the expensive side..had hpoes on Sindhi High school..but read that they are caste oriented and bit difficult..and they said admissions are not until march...I need more details about Sri Sri Ravishankar vidyashrama and MES in Vidyarnaya puram..can anyone help me out in this..or any other better schools in this surrounding area?
I would like to join my daughter in vidya niketan, she was born on 16/12/2008. i would like to know about fee, when admission form is issued, admission process & selection basis done for admission.plz reply to me : email@example.com
Contact Vidya Sagar school for geeting into vidya niketan.
Can someone help me get the contact details for Vidya Sagar and its location. From what age do they take children?
After readin all review,i'm really confused..which school to choose fr my kid...
@Kokilasetty My child goes to SSRVM Vidyaranyapura. She is in grade 2 and I am one happy parent. The fee is about Rs. 50k (non refundable) plus Rs. 24k (yearly tuition fee)
The school lays special focus on teaching values and I am impressed with the extracurriculars too...in 2010 the school children went on to qualify in the international spelling bee championships too. We scanned many CBSE schools of North Bangalore before putting her in SSRVM.
Its a good decision we have taken. Hope it helps.
any idea of transport and food fees in vidyashilp ? annual fees is 1.10L but I am not sure if it includes food or not.
My kid is May -2008 born and I wanted to admit her to Vidyasagar which is a feeder school for Vidyanikethan. Could you please share me the details of Vidyasagar admission and also let me know whether I can admit her to LKG (2012-2013) or I have to join her in playgroup ..?
Did you get admission? How is it going?
I am thinking of putting my son for 2013?
What is the age criteria?
What is the admission procedure?
How much is the fees?
