I think the calls are over. They seemed pretty dismissive. But if I'm wrong do correct me guys.

@happykid2016- Did you go for mont 1 or LKG interview ? Dis you apply in Alumni/Staff/ Sibling Quota ? Do you live in Indiranagar ?

HappyKid2016 2019-11-12 14:53:01

I had applied for Montessori in general quota. Don't live in Indiranagar. May have not gotten a call cause my son will be 3 years 5 months old as of 1st June and they are shortlisting kids in the range of 2 years 10 months to 3 years 4 months. Would like to hear from the ones who got a call as to whether their kid's age falls in that range.

awesommom 2019-11-13 01:23:15

HappyKid2016- So if my ward is 3.7 yrs by June 2020- what would be ideal standard for him? Mont 1/ KG 1?

soccerfan 2019-11-13 01:41:45

@awesommom 3.7 probably is slightly old for Mont and young for KG1.. If you are ok to have your little one in KG1 and a school doesn't have a problem, its really your choice IMO and its legal by the state age criteria I think.. The average class age probably matters. Having said that almost all catholic schools - teaching ICSE - have a  strict age criteria of 4 years for KG.

newkid 2019-11-13 08:26:08

Guys- Has anyone else got a call from INR For mont 1 interviews other than Smart4 ? Also when is the interview at the school and what is the fee ? Is the NPS KRM interviews also over or are we still waiting for calls ?

mithun12 2019-11-13 09:03:23

Hi @soccerfan, according to what you have written, kids should be born in the months of july-sep only, because that's will right age for mont-1 , and kg-1 ?

soccerfan 2019-11-13 10:38:34

@mithun12 The minimum age limit as per State rules is 3.5 years for KG1. I have seen some schools admit 3.7+ aged kids and not below that to KG1. I don't know the upper age limit for KG1.  I assume 4.5 to 4.6 as a guesstimate. Best is to talk to the school and get the age specific questions answered for clarity.

Selak16 2019-11-13 11:03:42

It seems that they have selected students for mont1 and wont be making calls for 20.21

mishiadmission 2019-11-13 11:19:04

Is NPS calling only on mobiles or sending mails also

HappyKid2016 2019-11-13 11:26:03

awesommom It depends on the school. Some schools have a range of 3.6-4.6 for LKG and some 3.10-4.10. Best to clarify from the school. In case of NPS INR we had specifically asked them after reading such a range cutoff thing somewhere. Then they mentioned that they look for 2.10 to 3.4 for Montessori. Wish they would specify this when submitting the form.

Age Criteria Nursery/Pre-school Admission in Karnataka

Every state has its own eligibility age. The Karnataka government has reduced the respective age for preschool admission, last year. So the tentative eligibility that frames out is:

  • Nursery: A child with age falling from 2 years and 9 months to 3.5 years is eligible for the nursery.

  • Lower Kg: The age from 3.5 years to 4.5 years is eligible for lower kindergarten.

  • Senior Kg: The age eligibility for this class is 4.5 years to 5.5 years.

  • Class 1: The child above 5.5 years of till 7 years can apply for admission

  • <I found the above information in the parenttune website. However the NPS Indiranagar prospectus which we received from the school says it accepts children upwards of  3 years in Mont 1 . Whereas the NPS Kormangala prospectus says montessori program is from 2.6 years to 6 years and KG program from 4 to 6 years >

mithun12 2019-11-13 11:39:26

So thought what about kids born in nov and dec, there are niether 2.9 by June or 3.5 by June. First will be under age and latter will be overage

newkid 2019-11-13 11:53:23

It is what it is...some schools such as DPS, Kumarans etc accept from 2.6 years for prenursery/nursery/ mont 1. Else you can always try again for the school of your choice at 1st std when they do become eligible as 1st std is from 5.5 years to 7 years....there are always Govt schools such as KV which accept at 5.2 years in 1st std ...

Anyway, to bring the topic back on track...anyone who has got a call from NPS - INR/KRM/HSR for Mont 1 , please share details such as when is the interview, what is the fees, age of your child as on june , quota applied in and where you reside. Thanks!!

aar26 2019-11-13 12:15:20

Any idea, if someone gets call from one NPS, the other NPS branch will exclude that form or still consider for the process.

newkid 2019-11-13 12:21:21

@aar26 - i read on a similar thread from last year, that one parent had got a call from both NPS KOR & NPS HSR. He choose KOR because they called him first , but lived near HSR..So it seems possible to get calls from more than 1 branch..But very rare i think...

SSS123 2019-11-13 12:25:23

Anyone else got call from NPS indiranagar?

awesommom 2019-11-13 14:08:14

Okay Parents--- Moment of Truth-- NPS INdiranagar has completed the process of calling selected parents last week it self.

This week, they are conducting interviews and admission process.

Hence no more interaction to be expected.
Time to start looking out for other options.
Thanks for keeping us posted all along..
Hearty congratulations once again to all those who have been selected- do let us know how the admission process goes.

Thanks again!
Good Luck..

meenu412 2019-11-13 19:25:40

does nps kormamgala admission is for pre kg ?

ynsairam 2019-11-14 00:15:53

Hi We had our daughter's interaction for admission to KG1 at NPS HSR today. It's just a formality, shortlisted candidates get admission if they just show up and pay up the fee. I noticed about 55 candidates shortlisted for mont and about 56 for KG1, which I think includes both general category and other considerations (staff, sibling etc). I think today they had interaction sessions for both mont and kg1. Coming to fee for KG1.. 1.49L tuition + 15K admission + other miscellaneous things add up to 1.75 L. Transport is 29k additional. But I couldn't figure out on what basis do they select, it appears like lottery. We applied for our son's admission to Mont, but he didn't get it. If they followed particular selection criteria my son would also have been considered as the number of seats are about same ~55 for both classes.
