My son was born on 17th Sep, 2016. So this year 1st June,2019 he will be 2.8 years old.
Some of the parents who have Sep born kids tell me that he should have started going to school this year in Nursery.

I am planning to send him to play school this year and then to nursery or Montessori in 2020-21 session.

Can you please suggest if my calculations are correct or I have missed one year for him?

Hi eranjali08.... For Nursery, most schools have the age criteria of 3 years (<4) as on June 1st....So, you€™ve not missed a year for your son....

Mont, the age criteria is different I think.... They take kids who are 2.5 years for M0 level

But you don€™t have to go with a Montessori school.... You can put your son in a play school and then apply in a regular school for Nursery in 2020-21 session

My Kid is Oct 2015 born. Currently she is in Nursery. Next year she will be going to LKG  (She will be 3.7 by June 1st 2019)
So, it will not be a problem for your kid.

I was also in the same doubt. My daughter is 9th sep'16 born and she is in Sr. Toddler of a playschool/daycare. I will put her into the nursery next year. The problem is that some schools does not provide nursery and have Montessori for 3 years like NPS and harvest international. So started my search and survey from now only Ÿ˜€
