Hi Rajju,

Am not sure whether you already got in touch with these schools. If not, just check the website http://www.inventureacademy.com/admission-process and also post a query in the website itself. They will send you the fees and other deatils. But sorry don't know abt  greenwood high.

Hi

I am very happy parent at Inventure Academy.  My daughter is in Grade 5 and  I have noticed how well she is evolving in  sports, academics and  music, dance and art.

They also have many beyonf academics activities  like Tournament of Minds, Multiple Intelligences Explored (MIX) and recently did Muse-ical Magic, a production solely by students and was a grand success.

I highly recommend this school.

Rajju,

I am debating between Greenwood high and Inventure. What made you decide GWH ?  I am looking to enrol in 6th and 3rd. Which grade is your daughter ? Are the academics good ?

Are the sports acitivities being taught or just advertisement ?

Sri

Hi Rajju,

I am also debating between Greenwood and Inventure. Can you please let us know why your friends moved from Inventure to Greenwood? and when was it and what classes the kids are in?

I heard Greenwood is good in primary and then when education gets more priority they not doing that great.

I would really love to get some latest experience Inventure Vs Greenwood from people moved their kids from one to other.

Thanks

rajju 2011-02-23 11:44:23

Hi sri,

yes we did.it was a bit of concern when we moved in jan as it is almost the end of academic year.but we were surprised to learn tht most of the international schools had places available.

rajju 2011-02-23 12:00:54

shweta,

the kids were gr5 and gr2.all my friend said was inventure is a very good when it comes to extra curricular activities but not great with academics.i believe every indivisual has their own perspective.its better to chk with the school personally.

i did visit both the schools, they r pretty same when infrastructure and the activities is concerned except for the fees.inventure fee structure is much higher than gh.also the interaction i had with the teachers and the management was much better at gh than inventure.they were easily approachable.

let me know if u need any more info.

rajju.

am2ind 2011-02-24 06:47:10

@shweta I was told by my friend  it is a good school for transition and I assume they have a good blend of both academics and activities. They are flexible in enrolling in middle of the year and approachable. They have the activities which my kids are interested in eg. chess, swimming and tennis.

As I observe in reading forums not anybody is happy with one school.  At some point kids are switch to one school for some reason or the other.

Let's see how it goes.

@rajju, they follow ICSE syllabus for Gr.6

Can anyone pls tell me whats the fee structure like in GWH ?

rajju 2011-09-08 12:54:21

@shreyadg,my daughter goes to GH.she is in KG2.the fee comes to around 1lac/annum.(including transport)

shreyadg 2011-09-15 14:21:35

Thanks for sharing the information  rajju .I  heard they also provide coaching for different activities ( eg swimming ,music, martial arts etc). which are outside curriculum. Is that correct ? And if so, will that be covered under the annual fee of 1 lac ?

 hi!

My nephew is coming in from the US and we are looking for a good International school where we hope he would be able to fit in easily. He will be joining mid-yr in grade 4.

Seeing your review, I just wanted you opinion about Greenwood now that it has been some time. How is your daughter liking it? When does the school session start and end?

Pls share and advise.

thanks,

Hi Rajju,

We are planning to send our Son to GWH next year in Class 1. Since your kid is already in GWH for last one year, could you share your experience please. Are you satisfied and planning to continue here in GWH?

How much are the fees (total) and do they give importance to health and safety, Extra Curriculars and Accademics. Do we have to pay extra for Sports etc ?

Will look forward to your opinion on GWH please.

Mitadeb

Hi,

I think for Class 1, you have better choices. There are few new school come up like Headstart has started a full school, oakridge has come in to Bangalore.

GWH is ok. Not something which I was promised of providing a wholesome growth. It is just another school with good infra structure.

Both my kids going to GWH in grades(8th and 5th). I am looking at Oakridge for younger one and might move.

If you have any specific question, I would be happy to answer.

Regards

Shweta

Thanks Shweta.

Infact I went to meet oakridge admission stuffs. I know they are quite big in Hyderabad (2 campuses etc). Here the problem is the construction has not yet started! God knows how long will it take for the entire setup to be ready. They are giving quite a rosy picture but not sure how much they can deliver considering they do not have a set up here in Bangalore.

I called up Headstart last month. They told me they admit kids only in Nursery!

Why are you planning to shift your younger one out of GWH? Any specific reasons?

I just hope I am not bothering you too much, but I really have so many questions:

1. Academics wise (board results etc) how is the school performing?

2. Do they give importance to sports and other extra curricular activities?

3. Language - what options do they have?

4. Lastly how difficult is it to get in GWH in Class 1? Heard they have an exam!

Will look forward to your advice!

Thanks

Mitadeb

kmalay 2012-02-13 15:20:59

Did you go to Headstart opening new school or the montessori?

I suggested Oakridge because you are planning 1st Grade and their admission fees is very low this year compared to GWH. They have taken a big house to conduct classes till they are ready with school. Anyways, we don't know how long will they take before opening up the new structure. You can always wait till June and see the progress.

To answer your questions:

1) It is average. I have not seen any significant achievement.

2) Importance I don't think so. But they do have facilities. They charge for hobby classes after school. Which I heard is included in Oakridge.

3) Language mostly French(other than Hindi, Kannada and English). Higher classes they do have spanish.

4) It should be easy to get in GWH. Now they are owned by builders who will focus on increasing revenue.

Hi ,

I am moving my daughter from Gear Intl to GWH 2012 sessio for grade 1.( I have paid the intial admission fee) We were not very happy with Gear and looking at arious extra-circular actvities and infrastructure  GWH. Now since the session is ending I am in bit dilemma as GWH is bit far from my home and seeing -ive feedbacks from people here, but as I have already paid 70, 000 I have no othr

My daughter is supposed to go thru an admission test. Can somebody tell me what kind of  test it will be there?

@Shweta : Can you let me know specifc issues about GWH. That should help

Mitadeb 2012-02-13 17:16:09

Thank you so much Shweta. If you can let me know specific problems that you are facing may be it will be easy for me to take a decision.

Hi Charu,

I have not paid any money in GWH yet and have been quite worried about this school issue.

Have you asked GWH how much will it come to (total in the entire year) for class one?

Oakridge fee structure is like this for class 1:

One time payment

  • Admission kit Fee - 1000
  • Registration Fee - 500
  • Caution Deposit (refundable) - 5000
  • One time special Activity Fee - 25000

Payable every year

  • Tuition Fee

        A. Annual Fee to be paid with First Term  Fee - 52000

        B. Term Fee - To be paid as follows :

  1. First Term at the time of admission - 48000
  2. Second Term - Sept 1st week - 48000
  3. Third term - Jan 1 st weel - 48000

Total (without Sepcial Activity Fee ) - 196000

Transportation fee per term - 12000

Lunch Fee per term - 8500

Above mentioned transport fee is for the first 5 kms slab and for every additional 5kms INR 100 will be charged.

Have you all heard about EISB? Ebenezer International School ?

I have visited that school .. Infrastructurewise looks good but dont know hows it otherwise.. Not much of reviews on net.

Mitadeb

GWH does not have an issue as such. My problem is that it is not different than any other ICSE/CBSE school with infrastructure. The way of teaching or approach to education is same. No application based or project based approach. They don't have smart board to take benefit of graphical/intuitive mode of teaching.

Still focus is more on mugging than learning.

I hope IGCSE from 9th Grade will be any different. The fee of IGSCE is around 50K more than ICSE.

Hope this helps.
