@kunal1, and everyone@, we had our interaction yesterday at NPS HSR for KG1. Chairman Dr. Gopalkrishna interviewed us. I wanted to share my speculation on the criteria used to shortlist parents (well, all children are great and it's really the parents that they choose to call for interaction).
The Chairman seems much involved in the admission process. I suspect he lets someone take a first pass at it -- some basic income criteria to find people that make enough to be able to pay the school fees. Beyond this, I don't think salary plays a major role. Then, I guess he analyzes the applications personally based on how "impressive" an application looks with an eye for diversity. They I think want to admit students whose parents are in diverse professions -- engineers, doctors, government employees, professors etc. I have heard that sibling criteria is also taken seriously.
To summarize, here is how I think it works:1) Basic salary test2) Then two groups are created: sibling and non-sibling. May be they earmark the number of seats for each group, say 30 for sibling, and 30 for non-sibling.3) In each category, impressiveness of the application + diversity in terms of parents' profession will determine if one is called or not. This step is completely subjective.
If it indeed is as I surmise it is, then it's a purely random selection (or pure luck if you will). Salary plays only a part role: say between X, and Y X's salary is higher. Still Y may be shortlisted over X because that makes the school look "diverse".

@tara123... Where do u currently reside..Area Please?

kunal1 2018-12-13 21:13:45

quite subjective actually...the only info they is parents designation...so i guess thats the only info they can infer...
i though distance play a role..but after seeing a couple of cases i am sure it does not...
but anyway...congratz to all who got through.. :)

poo2019 2018-12-13 21:43:13

@blrparent2 Wat did they ask in interview Do they consider both parents working? How diversified was ur application Just curious :)

blrparent2 2018-12-13 22:22:21

@poo2019During the interview, the Chairman asked the child her name and that was it as far as his questions for the child were concerned. He chatted with us for may be 5 to 10 minutes: Where we are from etc. Our application was more of a typical one for Bengaluru: both my wife and I work in IT.

dad1980 2018-12-13 22:26:07

@blrparent2  can you please let me know your kids age by June 2019?

blrparent2 2018-12-13 22:30:46

dad1980 4 years.

Mayus 2018-12-14 12:13:30

Parents please dont loose hope. Because there are still 2nd or 3rd list. We got call as part of 3nd list. But as we already taken admission in Krm.Wont go for HSR. so there will be 3rd list. As highlighted by blrparent2 they want to have diverse crowd. No intention to reject based on salary.

Mayus 2018-12-14 12:14:19

But for HSR is nearer than KRM. WHAT TO DO....

AHMama 2018-12-14 12:17:02
