The Karnataka education department had issued a circular last year mentioning 5 years 10 months as the minimum age for 1st standard, as of date of admission . So accordingly the minimum age for LKG would be 3. 10. Our son would be 3.8 as of first of June 2018. Some of the schools like Presidency school (btm) and ekya(btm) are okay to admit our son for the 2018-19. Some of the other schools like Samhitha, bgs are not ready to admit him, since he will be below 3.10 cutoff. We are a little confused, whether we should go ahead and admit him for lkg in 2018-19 or 2019-20 when he is 4.8. Please advice

Sacchu, Even I am facing the same dilemma. My dad's friend is in state board told us that even though the schools may admit this session but when it comes to board exams they will withhold the hall ticket. Same happened to my nephew (dob - 8/02/12). He was made to repeat lkg . My advice is to play safe n wait for next session as I am doing the same.

I would say, repeat it guys. It will be helpful for the kids. they will matured enough to understand and also writing skills will improve.

My kid, she will be completing 3.7 for June, I will her for LKG next academic year and we're sending her to preschool. so as said, for next June he/she will be completing 4.8 month understand the concepts and these kids are considered for many activities. If you join this year, it will be like more dominating from little old kids for your kids. This info I've collaborated from other parents and I'm sharing. please share your thoughts
