well heard abt good academics. but the infrastructure is really bad, congested classrooms, no sports activities, its only studies. i feel why not opt for other good schools like psbb, clarence, brigade, dps when the fee structure is almost the same. u wuld spend abt 10k more in dps or brigade, but u culd get all the facilities for that amt of money. well tats whwt i felt aftr taking a luk at st.pauls.
Thanx for the feedback. It is not a matter of 10K but also distance. St pauls is going to be towards the city any time better than going away from the city side when you opt for psbb and dps and the fee structure in brigade and dps i doubt has a difference of 10K from st pauls as it will atleast have min 30k difference as what i have heard. Hope we get a clear info about it. Any ways thanx for sharing your view.
I went through what people commented here about St. Paul's my experience has been different, and I don't agree to the methodology of St. Paul's interviewing kids.
Both my kids are studying in St. Pauls (reason I have them here is that I can't afford so much money to put them in DPS, Bishop Cottons etc). I took my first kid to the school, and was surpsied that he was asked to identify vegetables, colors, fruits, shapes, letters, numbers. As usual he was 2 years 10 months, when I was trying to get the admission. Request parents to think, is that the age that a kid is expected to remember and say everything? Unfortunate that we force them to do it. Somehow my first kid was superfast in studies he could finish his interview.
Coming back to my Second son, he developed his speech very slow. He could barely speek even when he was 2.5 year old. When consulted with doctor he told that it is a natural phenomena with some kids, but St. Paul's does not accept it. They gave the admission because my elder son was there and doing well.
My second son also had attention problem, where he cannot focus continuously, his teacher tortured him with the words he does not understand, believe me after pre-kg his confidence which was already little low went so low. He always cried to goto school, complained that his teacher yells at him. During the PTA meeting, I still remember the expression of his teacher saying, its difficult with your son and I always tell him things repeatedly, I can't do it. I literally fought with the teacher, all kids are not same, they come with different backgrounds and health conditions. We can expect a whole lot of things from a 3 years old small baby. Their world and words are too small and too little.
Sparing above experience, I have another one where St. Pauls was very unscrupulous. I had to relocate to US for a year due to work. When I approached them asking to retain the seats for my kids, they told that I have to pay the complete yearly fee in one go. They gave me just 2 days of time, failing which they threatened to release them from school. Remember guys I have paid the required term fee for both of them, next fee was due in two months, for which I was willing to pay.
I have another of my friend, whose kids are also studying in the same school. He also had very bad experience with respect to money matters in this school. They are very very shrewed if you have the situation where you have to go to onsite temporarily.
Note that another item in the application is "Parents Annual Income", why are they worried about the annual income of the parents. How does it matter when you have paid the fee. Students are not getting any benefits because they are poor.
My feeling for this school is that, if your kid is smart, they groom him/her little better. If he/she is not smart they won't take care...that personal touch is missing, which I heard is there in many schools. But what I fail to understand is judging these small kids of 3 year, 4 year & 5 year old is not healthy for the kids.
I am sure all the guys who are in their mid 30s or late 30s we never started the school atleast until we are 5, why torture our kids. But the winds are different, and world is different. Poor kids.
Planning to join my kid in St Paul's after his successful interview today.
He would join Nursery for the year 2012-2013.
Thanks for the discussion and the feedback on this school.
It is very informative and touching piece of writing..Thanks a lot for that.
This is a very good thread with lot of information about St Paul's. Any idea about admission for 2013-14.
Also I had visited the school couple of months back, the infrastrastructure for specially Kindergarten is very poor. There are steps every where, not very tidy and children friendly.
Any current parents have any information on that. Also its currently along with college, is there any plans to revamp the infrastructure.
admission process for 2013-14 has already started...
my daugther has got admisison and school has asked us to deposit admisison fees within 2 days, But I think I will let it go as I want to wait and see if we get any luck with Samhita or DPS when they open up admissions.
Can anyone please let me know how is st pauls for grade 1 and above? I am getting too many advices not to put my kid for ICSE.... i am focusing on st pauls based on reviews and also as it is near to my house..... also please let me know about presidency bilekahalli....... this i am keeping an option for CBSE..... mainly i dont want to put too much of stress on my kid..... hence too much confused between ICSE/CBSE? if anybody's kids are in either of these schools please give me the feedback for grade 1......
did any of your contemplated on Innisfree during your school selection. Any views appreciated? Thank you.
Innisfree is a good & experienced school. They only have 25 kids per section and teaching metholodogy is pretty good. Only thing is initial admission cost is very high, from second year onwards the fees is normal as other schools.
Hello all,I would like to get in touch with a parent whose child is in LKG this year in St. pauls. We live abroad and getting back this year end or so. I am hoping to get my daughter admitted to st. pauls in 2014 in UKG. provided she get admissions. We live in a walkable distance from the school. I would like to get in touch with any parent whose child is in LKg to know the current syllabus and what they are doing right now. I want to get my daughter up to date, so that she can get through the interview and not lagging behind. Appreciate your time and reply!Regardssanvismom
