Hello ppl,

I checked out this school on Sherwood High which is on the Bannerghatta Road (Nice road junction) which follows an ICSE pattern and is associated to Bethany High, Koramangala.

Just wanted to check is any of you are considering this school for your child. ANy suggestion is welcome!

Just like any one else we were curious to know more about Sherwood, being a NRI and with plans to move to Bangalore eventually, we looked into this possibility recently. My family lives in Koramangala and we were obviously looking for Bethany's, however, given the seat limits they are confronted with we were requested to explore the possibility of Sherwood High. Honestly, we didn't know what to expect but I should say we were in for a pleasant surprise. Our expectations were very clear in terms of  preference and academic standards. The presentations made to us by Mr. Akash was extremely satisfying and to our expectations. We fully understand that we are dealing with a new school and hence some room for potential concerns, I think the staff there did a wonderful job in helping us understand how serious they are and that they do have a great plan in place. As of today, there is no shortage of schools in Bangalore, the question really is what's best for your child? Sherwood for us was convincing simply because of the professional approach they carry and their solid blue print for growth in the near future.

Hope this helps, all the best!

Thanks Rampa, that was really helpful.

With Mr Akash at the helm and my wife Mrs Cheryl Ann Dsouza ( Ex Sr teacher English at St Josephs Boys High School and Principal of Gopalan National School) taking over as Principal, you have a winning combination.

When the school opens in Jun i feel it will make quite a splash.

soumita 2010-02-22 10:00:30

Thanks Mario for the information.

I have already admitted my daughter in Sherwood high!

mataji 2010-04-09 12:41:41

Hi Soumita,

Could you please tell me the fee structure there in Sherwood high?

How much you paid one time fees(donation)?

thx in advance.

sue74 2010-04-21 08:01:37

Hi, thanks for posting these comments. I'm currently in Singapore and moving to b'lore in June. It will not be possible for me to see Sherwood High before admitting my child. But the location and reasonable fee makes it an ideal choice for us.

It would be great if someone could respond to my queries:

1. There were no photos on their website. how is the infrastructure of the school? Does it look neat and clean? Are classrooms spacious and well-ventilated?

2. There are many amenities listed on the website. Are all of these fully functional?

Also, if there are any parents who have foreign born children, and are going back to India, it would be great if you could let me know what documents I will need for my child. We are applying for the OCI card. Does she need a student visa?

macher 2010-04-21 09:21:29

I reckon you should mail the school at With respect to infrastructure I can say it really is above avearge and you should have no complaints. The school starts in Jun and the amenities are falling into place.

For the documentaion aspects I do not anticipate too many issues. Just the last certificate from the school where your child now studies. The child needs to be 6yrs old in class 1.

My wife will certainly respond to any further clarifications you need if you mail the school id.

Presntly 108 admissions. School opens 1st week Jun or so.

soumita 2010-04-21 14:42:17

Here's link to the website  hope this helps.

sue74 2010-04-22 05:07:49

Thanks, Mario and Soumita. I had visited the website, but there were no pics of the school. hence my question. i had called the school last week and spoken to belinda. Have also sent a mail in the email info@sherwood...still waiting for the response.

macher 2010-04-22 06:52:20

The email id is My wife will revert today to your mail if it has been received.

sue74 2010-04-22 07:44:23

Yes, that is the email i have sent to. :)

i have to say, one of the things that appealed to all of us about the school was the fact that there is an emphasis on nature...each child will plant his/her own tree and name it, (and i hope) be made to take care of it throughout his/her school life. Also a vegetable and flower patch...We were in Europe for 5 years, and this is very similar to the school my child went to there. This is the first time she will be going to a school in India (earlier she visited only on holidays), and I'm really hoping it will be a positive experience for her.

Thanks again for the responses!

The school has a grand vision but it needs to be seen how it will perform it's "Education by Inspiration" mission. Infrastructure is very good, but teacher quality is average. This is an exciting experiment at best which needs to be proven in time.

Poornyog 2010-07-04 19:39:12

Nice to see reviews on sherwood high school. You have mentioned the teacher quality is average..can you please explain. How is this school its just a month now? Is your kid going to this school. Is the kid loves to go to school?

Hi All,

I have recently moved from SFO,USA and wanted to get admission for my 8 year old in grade 3.

We were lucky enough to get calls from 3 schools but we chose Sherwood High over the other two.

My daughter started her school from today and its too early to say anything about the quality of education but it seems that given the student child daughter will surely get great attention to improve and get educated.

Your reviews were helpful and I thank you all for this.

Hoping for great future of our kids,

sansri 2010-10-11 12:36:40

Hi Poornima, Can i know what is the age-criteria for Pre-Nursery and Nursery(L.K.G) in this school.

Fats 2010-10-27 10:42:42

I have admitted my 3.2 yr old daughter to Sherwood ( pre-Nursery)  yesterday.

The age criteria for pre-nursery is 3 yrs and Nursery is 4 yrs. The same can be relaxed based on the comfort level of the child.

Ramkt 2010-11-03 20:52:30

Hi Soumita,

I was looking at Sherwood High for my son for June 2011, wanted to know your exp with Sherwood.

soumita 2010-11-11 13:20:05

My experience has been very good with sherwood high. I think the teachers really focus on each children's development and there are a lot of co-curricular activities which makes school a fun place for the children daughter simply looks forward to going to school. I would recommend this school to everyone.

abhinkoi 2010-11-11 14:11:10

Hello Everyone,

I am also looking for my son's admission in Std 1 for academic year 2011-12. I called up the school today & they said admissions are open but denied to explain the fee structure & donation over the phone. Anyone knows what is the fee structure for Std 1 and donation to get the admission?

Also the school seems to be till IVth std only and he is saying that next academic year it will be by 6th STD..not sure if its really true or not. Can someone pls shed some more lights on it?

We are planning to visit the school on Saturday to see the facility & to know more about it.

Fats 2010-11-11 14:47:43

Most schools deny the fee structure on phone. We have admitted my daughter for Pre-Nursery 2 weeks back and fee details are:

One time admission Fee - 40k, Annual Tution Fee - 36k ( payable in 3 installments),

Activity Fee - 10k yearly and Transport extra, they have different slabs based on the distance.

My daughter loves the school so far. Do visit and make a choice.

Yes, they do plan to increase till 6th std next year since the infrastructure is still coming up.

Srinidhi 2010-11-11 15:02:27

janshon 2010-11-24 13:45:55

 Does this school have recognition?

hmnshu 2010-11-24 15:46:27

Hi Fats

You have mentioned that you admitted you daughter in the school on the 26th of October. In another post, you've said that your "daughter loves the school so far". Sorry if I am mistaken, but the classes start from June next year, right? Or have you got the admission mid-term? Or do you simply mean that your daughter loves visiting the school already, but not yet as a student? Please clarify.
