OT/ABA/Speech are some of the therapies recommended for ASD. Add ADHD to it any many practitioners/therapists swear by these methods. I have been to Turning Point at first when ASD was hinted at for my son. Dr. Shenoy diagnosed and came out with line graph showing points of concerns but she also mentioned that this assessment was based on an hour she spent with the kid (then about 3.5 years) and may not be conclusive as it depends on how the kid behaves at that hour. The same happened when I took him to St.Johns HOPE department headed by Dr. Sathish. The kid waited for couple of hours before his turn and the assessment results were bad enough for Dr.Sathish to discard completely, as he had seen the kid before. So when you suggest to find the root cause, how exactly do you propose it can be done?
Also, for a kid with ASD + ADHD what would be your recommendations as a practitioner in terms of therapies?

I am mother of 6 years old boy who been diagnosed with mild ADHD and we have gone through for his occupational therapy for close to years. OT therapist advise us to follow
Cut down milk, milk products, sugar products, chocolate, soft drinks.
We have seen lot of improvement in him. But still we need lot of improvement in him. Most of the time he is looking for TV, mobile etc. Not able to sit in schools.
We recently been shifted from Pune to Bangalore and live in KR Puram Area. Looking for schools which provide good special educators and also good centres where we can go to evaluate his progress till date and area of focus.
I have gone through the detailed discussion of parents, expert view of Aanchal and Katherine.
What I feel in present context is that now a days lot many centres make it as good source of income and they nothing have to do with development of child.
Looking forward to hear and help from this group members.....

Did you got any luck to find good schools who can understand your child mind better and how to handle them along with normal children's in the class.
Same the case with my child, he is approaching 6 , able to read, write, speak but unable to be at one place for longer period of time. We also faced most PTM FROM schools and some schools not ready to accept him.
I am very new to Bangalore and live nearby hoodi.
Need your help in this regards
