I've been a member of this lending library - easylib - - for some time now. It is very convenient and reliable.

The USP - they  deliver home the books for a nominal charge of 15/- per trip. You can choose the books online (from their sorted catalogue). Borrowal charge is 10% of the book price. They require a one-time intial deposit and a monthly payment of  100/-. We utilize the monthly charge fully - usually borrowing for more than a 100/- per month.

They have a wonderful collection of books for small children (board books), young readers, older children and adults (fiction and non-fiction).

The best part is you can recommend a book online and get it alloted to you as soon as it is bought. Thats how I read the latest Harry Potter, White Tiger and many other books  :).

And all this without visiting them even once. Everything gets done over the internet.

My sons just wait for the books to be delievered every 2 weeks. It has done a lot to increase their interest in book and reading. Thought I'd share this very pleasant experience with you!

I have taken justbooks "avid reader plan" which comes with free home delivery with a  annula fees of 3k for 4 books at a time with no registration fees and no security deposit.  I share this plan with my neighbor ( as this is the only plan which has free home delivery) and both of us get 2 books almost on daily basis or as and when we need.

They have wonderful collection of books including Time Life, Step into reading (1-5), many question-many answers, various QED  series to mention the few and they give TimeLife also for home delivery.  My son also waits desperately for books to be read every night before sleeping and his vocab has increased many fold.  Best part is he has learned big-2 concept which I never thought a child of (3.5 can understand because of these books which are so pictorial yet descriptive .

I started reading books to my child when he was 2 years and that time I had taken Mindgym membership which also offers Cds and toys apart from books.

I am really appreciative of the these libraries which are getting opened in bangalore with great collection yet so affordable.

Hi DivyaRaj12:  your daughter is too young, you can try any board book. There is one "early world of learning" by wordpress.  Main character name is "poldy", pretty colorful and good series for kids under 3-4. I saw used set in "Blossoms" (old book shop in brigade road), may be you would like to try the shop.

At this time just start on english vocab and communication so that when she grows , she can understand all.

Hi coolily: u have to be specific about place, don't assume ppl will know "Royal Hermitage".

Hi Mridula,

I do know Royal Hermitage. They come upto Himagiri. You could call up and tell them you are just a few kms away from here.

I am a member of which is a similar online library with free home delivery. You can take 4 items (books/CDs) at a time, and unlimited number of times in a month. Monthly rental is 100/-

However, their delivery in Bangalore is limited to certain areas. You may have to check with them.
