Today, its 11th February and no one has heard anything about the important letter. I had called the school sometime ago, I was told that they have still not despatched the decision letter. So, which means, they are not exactly following the "exact" dates of letter despatch like they did the last year. The deadline continues to be Monday, 25th February and time is running out fast. This situation throws up following questions:
1. Are they posting all the letters in ONE GO?
2. Should we wait till the afternoon of Monday, February 25th to receive the letter?
3. Will there be any alternative announcement of the selected list (on notice board)?
4. How long does it take for a normal post to reach our home address?
5. How many seats are divided as per the reservations, quota, and other selections?
6. Are they planning to extend the February 25th date to decide on selections?
If anyone has any news, please post them here.
Whos going to Answer these Qs ?
Problem is that the Postal Dept is also not so efficient. I never get any letter till I tell the postman please see if any letter has come for me , then he goes and brings the letter, there are certainly better ways of communicating to parents. Courier, email, sms, call are much effective. Old institutions have to u'stand that old means of communicating do not hold good in new times.
Please keep in touch with your postmaster on a regular basis. That's the best way to relieve some tension. Did anyone receive the letter?
>>3. Will there be any alternative announcement of the selected list (on notice board)?
I tried to enquire the same and the answer to your question no 3 is NO by the school. No list will be posted on notice board.
How come even with about 10 days left, they have not decided or not started posting the letters? I read from one of the posts last year (2012 intake) that they had provided the break up of seats. Is this true?
@ rakulkar I read in a newspaper the reason behind it.
The areas where we are located and our target group do not allow us to go online.
Someone staying close to the school premise have a clear advantage. They can check with the security and talk to parents to really know if the intw have already commenced or not.
None of us here received the letter but what about the others who don't visit this website? Is there any news anywhere about St. Joseph's results. Somebody told that they don't entertain calls regarding the results either. And for the postal dept,.. its pretty slow. Then what is the way to know the results?
I tried calling them today and I think they have stopped receiving calls. This is really frustrating. They never entertain enquiries about the results but at least they could confirm whether they have started despatching letter(s). Also, I believe, many parents would refrain from letting others know that they have received the letter. Not sure, just a guess. Postal Dept people are generally slow, cannot help. I understand from one of the sources that postal delievery people deliver posts only if there are many delieveries (letters) for that road/street and they do not turn up just to deliver one letter. This makes me even more tense. Feb 25th is fast approaching and the countdown has started. PLEASE POST IF ANYONE RECEIVES THE LETTER.............
Please post if anyone gets letter from st josephs,i will also do the same if i get the letter, everyday waiting for the postman......................................
@Child4 I see no reason in people refraining from sharing the details if they have received the letter.
No letter received today:(
I have had this exp 2 yrs ago while seeking admission for my daughter in Sacred Hearts, some who got letters responded only after the admission process was over, interviews and fees etc paid up.
You are spot on here. No one wants to take chances with school admission. I observed on last year posts, hardly 3-4 parents (really appreciate them) have posted on this site saying they got the letter. So, what is the percentage of parents who have actually come out in the open and said they got letter? 4%? I seriously feel they have already started dispatching letters for selected candidates. I might be wrong also. As someone said on this or the similar thread, those who receive the letter next week, its a potential rejection. I am not sure how many parents would post the letter receipt on this thread. Its been very tense, hard, and disturbed time for all of those parents who are waiting by the hour to receive the letter. Its better to go to the post office, catch hold of the postman, and see if the letter has arrived. We cannot do anything more than this right now.
Did anyone try calling the school to check if they have started sending letters? There is no information at all about anything.
I agree it to be a matter of choice but i am still not able to visualise what could happen if one reveals that they received the letter.
But i totally agree these are testing, hard n tense time as a parent.
Did anyone try to contact the school office? We have 10 days to receive the letter. Considering so many people not having received the letter, there could either be a delay in despatching letters or they might start sending them this week. PLEASE POST IF ANYONE RECEIVES THE LETTER.
I feel there is no use in calling the school bec' they had clearly mentioned they dont entertain queries regarding admissions,we have to wait till feb 25th.
I feel either interviews have already started comparing it with last year or no one has received the letter till now....................................really dont know what's going on.
If anyone gets the letter, please post...............................................
On Monday (two days ago), a lady said that they have still not started despatching the letters. They didn't say when they would start. They are saying by 25th Feb letters would reach parents. Today, its already 13th Feb and wondering by when they would post and when we'd receive them? Oh! the waiting has become even more torturing. Wish we had a processs to notify parents at which stage the admission decisions are at and when would selected and non-selected candidates notified. Looking at the last year posts, its scary. If they are following the same timelines and process, I guess the interviews would have been scheduled by now and many parents might have received the letters. PLEASE, PLEASE post if someone gets the letter....
Please dont get tensed, there is no use in getting tensed. We have to patiently wait till feb 25th.St josephs school is testing parents patience this year..........................just a wild guess........................
Application issued were around 1500 no of seats avaiable is only around 250.i am wondering how are they going intimate so many parents in such a short duration.this really frustating.I dont get my post properly,it is always delayed by two to three.Parents are worried.this is also not giving an option to parents to try other schools.we have no other option than wait wait...My husband is not at all worried.we wife's stay at house it always double tension...
I asked the postman today, the news i got letters have sarted coming in from st germain's yesterday. From st josephs school,he has no news.
If anyone gets letter from st josephs or st germain's, please post in this forum......
Are you sure it was 1500 applications? Did anyone receive the letter today?
I am guessing seeing the crowd on the day of application...
Did anyone receive the letter?
No,i didnt receive the letter. If anyone gets letter from SJBHS,please post.
I visited SJBHS today morning and was informed at the security gate that they have not yet started despatching the letters. But they will be doing it by 25th feb. Mostly the interviews will be conducted next month. This is what I was told..
I even visited BISHOP COTTON'S BOYS and informed at the gate that by 21st feb they ll put up the list but thats too not sure can go beyond that.. They asked to call the office then and find out. Hope this info helps..
Thanks for the information, Viaen. This really helps! Very kind of you.
