Hi Everyone, we finally gave in and admitted my daughter at NPS HSR today. We thought long and hard and NPS's montessori system and better student:teacher ratio was the deciding factor, not to mention distance from home.

Today when we went for interaction, there were around 8-10 children most of them for LKG. Our time slot was 11:15, but as soon as we reached, at around 10:55, we were taken straight to the Chairman (a very pleasant person, contrary to the image I gathered from the various writings on the net :p ). So I think not everyone who got a call turned up, as there were no signatures against some names in the list of candidates who were called. so there might be some seats still available after today, but thats just my gut.

@SVV- Can you share your personal email id, I will send you the details.

@RiyasMom,

Congrats once again and all the very best for your kids future. My mail id is venkateshshivaraj@yahoo.co.in. It would be great if you can share the details as it would be useful for me in deciding whether I should wait or go ahead with my sons admission at DPS south where he is selected. Thanks.

Hi Everyone, just wanted to add this bit of info here (not relevant to this thread topic) in case it helps some one. My husband went to Baldwin's to see if it would be possible to cancel admission and we learnt they have a proper process for this. We had to submit a letter and they will be re-imbursing 75% of the amount paid. It was a pleasant surprise for us. As per law if the child has not attended even a single day of school, the school is liable to return the money. There are several schools that don't but we were lucky Baldwin does. If you happen to be in this situation don't let go of the money without a fight :)

I saw a post on Zeeksha that a parent has gotten call for Mont from NPS Koramangala. Good luck to those who have applied there, I hope you make the cut.

Hi all, just registered with the site today; could anyone update if they are still taking admissions in Junior KG / L KG in NPS HSR Layout (I know I might be late but thought i'd check).

Thanks

Hi KaanavsDad

I am afraid chances will be very remote at thispoint in time. Do check directly at the school in case they have had someone who cancelled admission. I have heard they are pretty accommdative of NRIs - if thats the category you fall in- but don't have first hand information. Does not hurt to enquire though.

All the best!

Dear Mitch,

I am reading your "questioning of the schooling process" 7 months later, but I love how you have philosophized the process of admitting our children to school. I myself at the verge of writing a blog regarding what it is we really want in the end. What is the whole point of schooling? What should it achieve? What values do want to see in our children? And like you very well said, what if our children don't like the school which we have spent years dreaming about? I myself was a very sensitive child and am trying to keep my child's nature in mind while looking for a school.

It is for this reason that I have not chosen to attempt admission to any of the institutions that would keep me on tenterhooks for months and finally make me feel I have achieved nirvana by getting into their school.

This is my core concern: My child should be in a caring, secure environment which instills confidence and brings out the best of his/her qualities. I truly believe that each person has an intelligence of some form and this has to be explored, discovered and polished.

I don't know if all this is possible in any school in our system, but anything that comes close and supports our efforts to guide our children would be the right place.

I noticed that you have chosen Global Indian International School for your child and have favored it over  Harvest International . I am looking at Ekya School ITPL, Harvest International and Global Indian International. I would sincerely appreciate any feedback you could give me about these schools.
You can email me at sheela.srikanth@gmail.com. Thank you

Regards,
Sheela

Hi RiyasMom,

Can you share your experience of admitting into NPS? was there any interaction with the kid before you did the enrollment? What kind of questions were asked?

You can share the details over email at viji.saravanan@gmail.com
