Hi All,
I am looking for schools in Sarjapur Road and surrounding area for my son. He will be 3 yrs by 2013 and hence I am looking for Nursery admissions. All parents experienced or yet to be experienced.....whose kids are eligible for the session......please pour in your valuable thoughts.......lets discuss on the schools and the other procedures for Nursery 2013-2014 Session.
Hope this thread will help many parents like me
My nephew goes to VIBGYOR.My sis is very happy with the school. New horizon gurukul has lot of issues. We researched together on schoold and finally decided VIBGYOR.
Even I am also looking for a good school in and around Whitefield for 2013 nursery admission. I am not able to take a decision whether to go for a bit higer profile or medium profile schools.
I have shortlisted some schools in Whitefield
Inventure Academy(ICSE)/Greenwood High(ICSE) on bit higher side
DPS(CBSE)/Vibgyor(ICSE), medium profile school.
Can somebody give the feedback on these schools?
Also I would like to know in what way Greenwood/Inventure/TISB/Indus is better than other schools?
Hey Junemom......thanks for the info......if u can brief us about the specialities of VIBGYOR..........it will b too helpful. Also let us know the fees structure.
My sis paid 85K for nursery. 10% increase this year.
My nephew was just 3 and could read books and stuff with difficult words. They identified his specialty and are encouraging him suitably.Same with other kids there. They identify each child's gift and are focusing on enriching that,
Thanks Junemom........will chk the school..
RTG........cud u collect any info on Inventure Academy(ICSE)/Greenwood High(ICSE)?
Hi Everyone,
I am from Pune and Stay at Dhayari. MY son is OCt 2010 born and currently I have enrolled him for playgroup in treehouse. My son is currently 1.8 yrs and from nursery i am looking for a big school. I dont have here much options in Dhayari. However I have reviewed some of the schools nearby
DSK school-- cut off age for PG is 2-3 yrs and its a ICSE board. They advised us to put my son next yr for PG when he will be 2.8 yrs. Being ICSE, we are a little confused to put him there and also if dont get admission in DSK then we need to put him in other school where he will be overage. Or if DSK then we have to repeat PG
AAryan School: Its in Ambegaon and CBSE board I have went through their site and read their reviews. Seems to be good but not sure
Spring Dale school: Its also in Ambegaon. i am not so in favour of this school. The reviews I heard are not positive
balshikshan in kothrud: I would very much like to put him in this school but school is almost 8-10 kms far from our place so if at all I get admission here I dont know whether I should go ahead pr not
Please can you advise how should I go about. I am not concerned for board but I need a good. Please anyone if in same situation can provide suggestions as this is question of his entire life. Also we both are working so we need to take this also into account
Thanks
Shreya
Hello, thanks for starting this thread. My daugther will be 2.9 yrs by June 2013, is she eligible for nursery in schools around indiranagar, Bangalore. Some of the schools in my mind are
National Public School, Indiranagar
New Horizon Public School, Indiranagar
Sishu Graha, Tippasandra
National Centre of Excellence, Malleshpalya
New Horizon Gurukul, Outer Ring Road
Can anybody share the admission procedure (dates), fee structure, reviews etc ,,, for the above schools.
Pradeep u need to chk with the schools about age....coz every school has thr own thought.
Oh!! okay sure, I will check out that.
Has the admission process started, if not do you all know any dates when the above schools will start their process?
Hi Pradeep
I have also done some research around this :)
Your kid might meet age criteria for Shishugriha and NCFE, others I heard require the child to be 2 yrs 10 months as of Jun 1st. You can confirm with them during the admission time.
I am also in the same boat looking for admissions for my kid around CVRaman/indiranagar area. She is oct born and will be 2 yrs 7 months on jun 1st and she might not fit the age criteria for most of these schools :( Only hope is NCFE or geethanjali montessori which is close to my place.
thnx
SSS
Thanks SSS, how about reviews of Shishugriha, I heard they are off late getting bad ones and for NCFE are they charging a BOMB as fees?
Hi SSS and all,
We too are in a same boat. our son has completed 2 years 7 months on 1st june'2012. he is OCT born.
I believe no schools allow Nursery admission at this age group.
kindly correct me if wrong.
additionally, what is your opinion about DPS-East and Samhita academy.
thanks,
Bhushan
Can anyone giv me clear picture on academics in the schools like greenwood high, inventure academy, vibgyor. I understand these schools are a having a blend of academics and extra- curricular activites.......but again while finalising for any school academics is first thing to be considered.
Hi Pradeep,
R u considering NPS for ur kid? I hav heard they r very strict in academics.. and kids need to really excel in studying to continue there!! How true is this? I understand they r very good and renowned school in blore...but m confused wid such reviews.
Regarding their fees structure......its reasonable compared to the so called international schools.......they costs around 80-90K for UKG.
I also have a oct 2010 born kid and confused on whether to put him in nursery in 2013 or 2014. I'm from Murugeshpalya area, and looking for schools in Indira Nagar, Koramangala and Thippasandra.
NPS is purely academics oriented. Their admission criteria is a mystery that is yet to be solved:). However they have zero emphasis on extra curricular activities. If the child is not excelling in academics then the kid is given TC so he/she can join an other school.
Yes JuneMom......i have heard same review from people..but dont know how true is this. U r true that their admission criteria is based on some spl statistics and sheer luck...... :) but i agree they are the best in bangalore.
M really confused on wat to choose for my kid!! I want him to get total education....a mixture of academics and nurturing his interests in sports, arts and science too. But looking at the international schools around....i m just wondering that how much they will concentrate on academics!! Franckly speaking ..till date I hav never heard of any of the international schools student excelled in board exam :(
Also, the amount of money charged by international schools is a big concern! M very much in a state to afford the fees..but my question is it worth paying the BIG cheques? Basically.....any parents expectation will be more from the schools when they pay so much. I want to ensure bestest for my kid....hence doing all sorts of research..........
Hey Carnatica..i think ur kid's age will not match the criteria of Nursery admission.......generally they take kids who completed 2.8 years and above by 1st june.
PiaKaushik,You just nailed it. Totally agreed. Am of the opinion that these international schools cater to expats. That being said even the otherwise "normal" schools are getting expensive. We pay for the infrastructure more than the education.
NPS is dream for many and I hope my kid gets to study there but am not going to hope for it knowing the possibilities. New horizon is where my bet is!
JuneMom.......the tragedy is we need to leave in this society and hav to deal with such money minded schools..... I too agree that even so called Normal or convent schools too r charging BIG now a days.
Which New Horizon u r refering? New Horizon gurukul or New Horizon Public School? How are they as per academics?
Pia, yes I am considering NPS Indiranagar for my daughter, I am aware they are a bit strict. The reason why I am starting from nursery over there (for matter any school) the kid will get used to it from early stage and will not feel the pain. Are you getting what I meant here.
JuneMom, Yes NPS admission is still a mistery. New Horizon is what I will land I guess. But I am still vary about the age criteria for nursery admission 2013-14, any idea on that for NPS and NHPS?
New Horizon Public School (ICSE) in Indiranagar is there for quite sometime and heard they are pretty good and decent. New Horizon Gurukul (CBSE) in Outer Ring Road is pretty new one and have an excellent facility but they charge a BOMB in par with international schools.
Bethany High Koramangala, no idea on that
I got ur point Pradeep....I too think NPS is a good bet....but cant wait for my luck to click... Also..somehow not convinced with so much pressure on the kids.
Thanks for the info on NHPS....will check them out.
has anyone idea about good schools in the whitefield area - Like Deen's , Gopalan, VIBGYOR, DPS ?
My son will turn 3 in June and wanted to start the search for school now itself :)
Hi All,
Nice to see a queue of admission anxious parents already there. I am also in the same boat. Stay at Sarjapur Rd and looking for nursery admission for my DS.
However, i just cant imagine my kid travelling 8-10 km at such a tender age. So m really confused whether to go for a good formal school ryt now or when he's 4-5yrs old!!!!!
Any views..............................
Hi All,
I am also looking for schools for my son. I hav not yet finalised my list of schools. I m totally confused with the reviews about the scchools. I am looking for ICSE schools primarily and also CBSE.
pia, i heard inventure academy takes kids from age 4. heard a mixed review about them. Some say they dont give much importance to acads..
My 2 cents to parents hunting school:
On NPS you will always read or hear multiple views and theories but you should only listen from parents whose kids are actually going to NPS. I have heard xyz about any school can be just perception or heresay if the person saying is not 1st or 2nd person in the chain.
If your child is 2.7 or 2.8 and you manage to put in higher class in some school while most other schools feel he/she is underage do you really save 1 yr? How? You graduate a yr younger or start earning a yr before SO?? Note this thought comes from previous generation when most of the opportunity was in Govt/public sector. Yes for a Govt job if the cutoff is 30yrs by doing graduation early you get one more shot at the job or the yr saved helps better grade or promotion when you retire. In a scenario when majority gets employed in private sector or self employed this thought of trying to save 1yr is out of place.
