Hello,

I am eagerly looking forward to apply in Baldwin girls for pre-nursery for my daughter. Called up schools many times, they told forms will be available in Jan 2012.

I applied in other schools but no positive response from anywhere, if anybody comes to know about the dates when Baldwin starts issuing forms kindly post a message here.

How diffuculy is to get the admission in Baldwin? My daughter satisfies the age criteria. Any other criteria is there for admission in pre-nursery?

sisand 2011-11-14 16:16:45

Age criteria is: child should complete 3 years by 1'st of June. But I know one person who got her daughter admitted last year, even though she was falling short of 20 days.

sisand 2011-11-23 09:21:32

My last option left is Baldwin, if I misses this one then I will not get admission anywhere this year, I called school many times, they say the same thing, call again in the first week of Jan 2012.

Hello All,

I am a parent here, with my daughter studying in one of the so called reputed ICSE schools in Bangalore. We took admission last year, and I can emphathize with all of you, since Last year during this time, I was in the same state of mind. But after a year, and when on the other side (like they say grass is always greener on the other side), I would like to point out that all these 'so-called' good schools have absolutely NO difference between them. All of them are equally good or equally bad, coz at teh end of the day, it's we parents who have to take complete care of our child's education, the schools are needed just to remain as a part of our faulty education system. The school's contribution in the child's education is almost nil.  Kids are loaded with HWs, teachers are EXTREMELY rude in their dealings with teh kids. teacher student ratio is in the range of 56:1, so u can understand how much attention will 1 teacher give to 56 tiny bright young minds!  So my suggestion as a parent, you can put your child in any school you want, may be keep in mind the board (ICSE, CBSE, State Board) as a selection criteria,.because at the end of the day schools ABSOLUTELY DO NOT matter. Raachu, sisand and Shakir, you can try any of the schools because trust me there is no difference between them except for the names!

sisand 2012-01-24 17:18:19

I understand that school will have less contribution towards the child's education. I just wanted to get my daughter admitted to some reputed ICSE board school. Near my house there are no school which are reputed. So I applied in Baldwin's. I am just waiting for the result to come on 11'th Feb at 9 AM.

Next year may be I will try again for LKG admission in some other school, I would expect the student : teacher ratio to be better.

When I went to submit application form in Baldwin, School security guard started talking to one of person who also came down to submit form, he said admission can be guarenteed if we pay 40K to a broker, he offered to get us the contact of broker.

Every where there are people to make money, even here in Baldwin. I just submitted the form and hoping to get the admission this year. Next year my search will still be on.

Both your ques are answered in my post

sisand 2012-01-25 23:21:58

How about the student : teacher ratio in Bishop Cotton Girls? In Baldwin this ratio is too much.

Souvonik 2012-02-01 02:39:28

Is there anybody who had admitted their kid in Pre-Nursery last year? How is the experience? Do they take proper care of the kid, specially for a 3 year old? Also do they have transport facitliy towards CV Raman Nagar or Pai Layout or Old Madras Rd, Tin Factory or Kasturinagar?

sisand 2012-02-01 13:53:49

Today is the last day of submission of Form, time is already for today, it was till 12 noon. I hope every body has submitted the form. Now we will have to wait till 11'th Feb for the results to come out.

sisand 2012-02-09 15:43:19

Day after tomorrow, i.e on Saturday, 11'th Feb 2012 at 9 AM result is going to come. I will be in school to check that out. Any body else coming?

With God Grace, my daughter has been selected for pre-nursery. On 15th they called for interaction. Any input, what they ask during interaction with parents?

Emi08 2012-02-11 17:09:27

My daughter has been selected too! However, I heard there are only 150 seats for pre nursery but shortlisted list for pre nursery had around 250 names, (as per my hubby who went to see the list). Does it mean that interview is the final deciding factor for admission? Appreciate feedback from any parent who's kid is already studying in BGHS...

sisand 2012-02-12 22:41:26

I went to school again, I counted the selected students, there were 5 pages with 34 names and last page has 27 names in it. So total is (5*34)+27=197, so a list of 197 names is out for pre-nursery admission. I don't know how many seats are there for pre-nursery.

ggbang 2012-02-13 10:12:43

Any info about the BGHS interview procedure for pre-nursery and fee structure for 2012-2013

sisand 2012-02-13 12:17:48

Talked to a parent who got their daughter admitted last year, they said it's just a procedure which involves filling of admission form and submitting the fees, they will give 2 days time to submit fee.

Last year fee was 50K + 36K = 86K.

Next year onwards it will be 36 K per annum only.

Hi,

My son will be 3yrs on June 10th 2012.

I guess its too late to try and put him in nursery or pre nursery (kind of confused as it is our first time).

Will he be eligible for LKG next year i.e. 2013 or should i wait till 2014?

Also we stay in K.R. Puram (old madras road) work in Koramangala.

Kindly suggest as We are looking for places in and around this area.

sisand 2012-02-13 16:48:10

Some school consider this much deviation, but some don't. There is a school near CV Raman Nagar called Gitanjali international school, they are still issuing forms for admission. Other major schools have already closed on this year admission. Better to get admssion at one place and then keep trying in better schools, rest all is out of our control.

kidmom 2012-02-13 17:08:59

@sisand - have you got any feedback about the school from parents ? Have you applied to FAPs, Bishops, SFX - any idea how Baldwins compares with these schools?

sisand 2012-02-13 17:37:00

I didn't apply for FAPS, Bishops and SFX because they all take 4+ years child, my child will be 3+ years on 1'st of June.

About the feedback of schools, it will always be mixed one, some parents will be happy with school while some won't be. FAPS, Bishops, Baldwin and SFX are all such schools where getting admission is not an easy task. Gitanjali has CBSE syllabus and looks to be a decent one.

kidmom 2012-02-14 11:39:24

Are we supposed to carry any documents for the interaction ? Didnt find any mention on the notice board

sisand 2012-02-14 13:02:26

no document required, they might ask to deposit fee, so money should be ready, but they will give some time to arrange for that.

ArathiRasquinha 2012-02-14 16:48:46

Thanks Sisand for the response.

Have you heard of FUSCO's?

It's on old madras road near to metro station.

If anybody has any kind of feedback on this school please share.

Gitanjali -- Haven't heard of this school, can you tell me more about it

Regards,

Arathi

sisand 2012-02-14 18:07:56

I have seen FUSCO, but not heard about any feedback.

Gitanjali is on Khagdaspura main road near railway track, there is a non-tarred road along the side of railway track which leads to this school. Visit the school campus to get the feel of it.

There are other good school where getting admission is comparitively easy, like VIBGYOR in marathalli, BEML Shishya near BEML Hospital etc.

If localtion is not a concern then DPS Whitefield is also a good one and they are still open for admission.

KhushiJ 2012-02-15 17:35:35

One person on this fourm is saying they refunded the fee last yaer but I see it is clearly written on the admission letter that Fee is non-refundable.

Anyone has clear idea?
