What are you looking at in a school? CBSE/ board, International/mainstream etc.?

How old is your child?

What is important for your family?

Then can try and suggest since we too are on a lookout.

Kumarans is a very good option.

I have heard good things about the following schools:

Innisfree (JP Nagar)

If I were living in South Bangalore I would put my child in Innisfree - it's within city limits, reasonable, and has small class ratios, good discipline! It's a ICSE school.

Thanks for the suggestion..Is there a website for innisfree school?

Not really I suppose but a look around on the web yields a lot of information. An educator I know sends her kids there and so do a few friends - they really like it. Class Ratios are 25-30:1 in the higher classes I hear.

The wiki is here

Hi, My daughter is 2.4 yrs now.I enquired at Innisfree , they told me that she can join preschool only in 2011 June as the child has to complete 3 yrs to get into a pre school there. But my only concern is that she will 3.10 months in 2011 June.Do you think its too late ? Pls help .

Do you have an idea on the fee structure?

my kid had the exact same problem and was told by her school that she will have to be in playschool whn she is 2 yrs 10 months... ithn sat down with them and literally on a piece of paper showed them that if she is in playschool whn she is 2 yr 10 mnths, and put in nursery whn she is 3 yrs 10 mnths , then by the time she is in the 1st grade she will be 6 yrs 10 mnths , which is too late. It took alot of convincing from my side to make them finally agree. I also told them, put her in nursery and observe her progress, and if u still feel that the child is too young and can not cope up, i don't mind her repeating nursery, .... but atleast give her a chance. They agreed and by God's grace, there wasn't any problems

Try doing the same, else try a montessori that takes in the child when she turns 2 1/2.You can start for the Jan sessions, as your lil girl will be 2 1/2 by then

I dont believe in slowing down a child and make thm repeat a yr if they r progressing and able to cope up with the class. But if its tough on the child , thn we'll have to slow down. It all depends on the child.

If you are looking for CBSE school I strongly recommend BGS NPS.

If you are looking for preschool, I would definitely suggest the new centre of Maple Bear in J P Nagar 6th phase. The stronghold of this school is its curriculum which helps in setting up skill sets for kids that go a long way in their educational life. I would strongly recommend this school.
