Hi,

Indira Nagar through entrance tests - I do know people who have got in - if your child is able to top around 150 kids who sit for admission :).

I got a call for 2nd std admission last year (my son had straight As in his report card). I did not pursue 'cos we chose to stay near elec. city.

All the Best!

mango_mama 2009-10-27 16:04:12

Apar,

Straight As means A or A+ or both? Thanks,

gita

PS: I might be looking at NPS Koramangala and HSR layout since might be moving to Bangalore south.

i want to know wat will be asked in 2nd std admission test.. any idea frm those who got admiited last year... also the fees...

mango_mama 2009-10-27 17:15:50

Sharaav's Mom,

My kids are in NAFL. Very happy with the school but in a year or perhaps couple of years might need to move coz we just bought a place near Sharjahpur Road.

Hence the struggle... :-(

mango_mama 2009-10-27 17:40:23

Sharaav's mom,

Actually, it will help a little for sure.

The fees where? NAFL? I think if you start anew maybe 80-90k.

NPS. It depends on the NPS. I think around 60-75K my guess. Anyone?

chiri 2009-10-27 19:12:50

Fees for new admission in NAFL is exorbitant.

40K(Admission)+48K(Tuition fees for one year)+15K(Caution fees-Refundable) excluding Transportation+Uniform+Books etc.

NAFL - Malleshpalya has no connection with National Public School group of institutions. They are just trying to make some name by using similar name & by using Gopalakrishna's name. They are a totally independent body.

NPS Indiranagar fees this time would be between (70-80)K. I have confirmed this with the receptionist at indiranagar.

How is Vagdevi & Vibgyor High? What is the fees of Vibgyor & when are they taking admissions?

Chiri, you are talking about  NCFE not NAFL. NAFl is NPS international branch.

My kid is currently going to Vibgyor High, so far I am happy with it. Vagdevi, also I have heard is pretty good. Both are currently issuing admission forms and they have FCFS.

mango_mama, I was talking about fees for NAFl only as I heard that Its around 1.5L but not sure as never enquired myself as its very far off from marthalli.

chiri 2009-10-27 21:40:34

Yes. I was talking about NCFE, Malleshpalya.

What is the fees of Vibgyor High for montessori?

What are the other charges apart from the admission/tuition fees?

Is Vibgyor recruiting right now?

Which is better between Vibgyor & Vagdevi?

Appreciate your urgent feedback bcoz I need to pay the fees of Vagdevi as my son has already got the admission.

Amit

No, there are not any charges apart from what is mentioned in the form + transportation.  Transportation is one part where most of parents are not happy with school as even for 1.5Km distance they are charging 1200/- PM and despite severals followups with school, there is no respite in same for this year though they are talking about reducing it for next year.

I am not sure of  senior classes, but their primary education is good ( not exceptionally good).  and I guess till they prove it through their 10'th and 10+12 , comp. , it is one point of concern for most of parents.

I have heard from several people that vagdevi is coming up very well and  till this year fees is also reasonable.  Owner is ex-ISRO  person.

chiri 2009-10-27 22:07:28

The transportation fees which I enquired from Vagdevi's cash office from the school to Basavanagar bus stop(2.7Kms from school) is only Rs.825/-. The school uniform is just Rs.405/-. No other fees apart from the one mentioned in their admission form.

What is the fees of Vibgyor for montessori?

How is vagdevi when compared to Vibgyor?

 Former member 2009-10-27 22:18:57

I can't comment on comparision part but yes, both school's parents are happy with school.  I don't remember the exact fees but somewhere close to 67k for nursery though they charge 15k per annum for  sport activities seperately from 1'st std onwards apart from slighly higher fees than nursery kids.

pollan 2009-10-29 10:13:20

Chiri,

VIBGYOR doesnt have montessori format. They have only Nursery. For pre-KG the total fee is going to be 78K per year (in this 20K is admission fee) so from next year it is going to be 50K odd.

One feedback i have got is that this school is not loading the kids enough and so kids might not be very competitive as compared to other kids. This is not my personal experiece but this is from word of mouth.

But i have heard that in the pre-KG there is going to be one teacher for every 8 kids, which i felt is a real positive thing.

I also heard the similar things from parents but guess its good not to put pressure till 5'th std. I have heard that from 5'th std onwards they start putting pressure ( more syllabus) but before to that you will find a child lagging if you will compare with other schools.

40K(Admission)+48K(Tuition fees for one year)+15K(Caution fees-Refundable for NAFL doesn't sound exorbitant esp if the admission fee is only one time. I mean compared to NPS itself which charges 80K rajajinagar branch?
I wish I'd applied to NAFL now - always thought the fees were upwards of 1 lakh

 Former member 2009-10-29 14:24:10

No, I guess there is a confusion. I guess she has mentioned the fees for NCFE.

NAFL, new admission fees was around 1.25L last year ( though not sure, heard from a friend)
