Hi, I need information on Vagdevi vilas school for my kids admission to pre primary (nursery or montessori)
it is a good school.they have started with forms issue.i have taken admission for my son in LKG
hi Prabha, thanks for the info... from what age they consider for LKG... you have any info on that...
i think for lkg the kid shd be born before mar31,2007. tat is around 3yrs 3 months ...the only school which is admitting at this age..rest of the school are asking 3yrs 10 months
Do you know when Vagdevi closes admissions for nursery for 2010-11? If we go by mid-Jan or Jan end of 2010..is there a chance of getting admissions..or is there too much demand?
If there is a lot of demand, if we take the admissions now, do you know how much is the non-refundable deposit for pre KG (that we may have to forego if we dont put my daughetr there, next year?..)..your inputs will help..
We are actually looking for schools closeby and Vagdevi is a little far (my kid is just 2+ years old)...but meanwhile if there is nothing else closeby which is good...we also dont want to lose out on Vagdevi...thats y...
Can u please tell me till when the admissions r open for LKG for the ay 2010-11?
Also would be helpful if u let me know abt the fee details(admission
and annual fee) for LKG.
Vagdevi is a good school. But one more school is coming up near KR Puram (Ramamurthi Nagar) i.e. Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra. They Have branch near Hebbal. This is a beeter option for Pre-primary. Website is - www.jgrvkb.org
i think admissions shd not be a big issue as they have some 8-10 sections in lkg..i think the process will continue till jan march
sorry the fee for lkg is around 36k
my son is going to UKG and i find this school horrible . One day i went to school to drop my son and all kids were playing in class with no teacher around . The fee is not less but the standard is very poor . I want to take my son out asap as he says he gets very bored owing to no extra curricular activities
which school u r talking about? Could I know more about the school where u r child is studying i.e. about academics and extra-curricular activities.
I am talking about vagdevi vilas school . My son is going to UKG now. I am looking for a change
Its a bad school
I had interaction in Vagdevi for mont 1 this morning and we are satisfied with it.
My child was asked to do a wooden veg puzzle and she did it without much help. Then she was given few wooden beads which she put in thread. The thread was loose, and she impressed co-ordinator by trying to tight it. Then she was shown fruits and animals pictures in a book. She identified fruits in english and her mothetounge & all animals with her extra Meows..and mooos and also told that Girrafe is found in zoo, and zoo is in mYsore. Huh! Done!!!
We had fun!
After this we were directed to admission office where we got selection letter.
We also met the principal who very promptly guided us to counselor to decide on what system we choose for our daughter. They were humble, honest and absolutely no show off/ pressure on child or us. The counselor did not even emphasis on admitting in Vagdevi and she freely provided info on other options if we wish to explore and what best practices can we follow to nurture the giftedness in children.
The teachers were speaking GOOD english/were willing to give more info and montessori co-ordinator told us to come and see the classrooms and understand montessori equipments/methodology on any working day.
The final thing, we plan to go to the school on weekday and check on feasibility/facility of transport for small children and pay the fees.
No Donations, absolute transperency in fees, Happy parents, Well furnished classrooms and good infrastructure, very humble co-ordinators and a special counselor for children and parents- all put together Vagdevi exceeded our expectations!
Anybody else who is considering Vagdevi! We shall keep in touch. thanks
any idea abt the school timings for class 4??
how much time wud it take to travel from byrasandra by rickshaw/two wheeler??
though geetanjali is nearer at kaggadasapura they r chrging around 92k excluding lunch and transport...
im looking frwd fr vagdevi vilas now...hows their transport??pls share..
where is byrasandra? generally their transport system is good.My son just travels for 10-15 mins ,but we are staying in M'halli.
The school timings for higher classes, i think is from 9 to 3 or 4.let me check his dairy and revert.they have not started issuing forms for higher std. i am also following up for my niece admission. i tgt geetanjali fees are reasonable. are u including the one time donation part?
we paid the admission fees for my daughter in Vagdevi for L.K.G. Where do you stay? We are planning to shift somewhere near Marathahalli.
May I know where you stay in Marathahalli. Actually I am looking for some good resedential area in Marathahalli. And I need a daycare also nearby. Any idea about good daycare.
thanks for the info...
yes im including the dev fees of 40k to be paid in cash...rest all is library fees, tuttion fees etc. arnd 42k...and uniform and books-10k...transport and lunch extra...
byrasandra comes before kaggadasapura main road..so gitanjali is 10mins frm thr...dats y i was luking frwd...any comments about the gitanjali school if u may know and share...
We travelled on bike to Vagdevi and it took us 16-18 minutes to reach the gate of school from Malleshpalya 5th Main.
So Guess, bus would take may be 30 minutes. My child will be three years in June. We will check the feasibility of transport, if its taking too long, we will rather shift the residence.
Today we went to NCFE, and must say, In all parameters Vagdevi is much better than NCFE. Just cant justify NCFE's high fees for similar standard and much lower infrastructure compared to Vagdevi.
@ sreelaksmi, Vagdevi has daycare facility in the nearby area, run by the same school management. Check with the schools.
I am staying near M'halli fly over ,bageecha hotel.you will get flats on rent near this area and kundalahalli gate and aecs layout. there will be houses /flat available near the school but the locality is not that good. check it out.
as sheetal says school also has a daycare called yashoda lalan palan near to the school in munenakolalu .the facility is decent.i think the school bus drops the kids after the school and picks them with the senior kids and drops them at home. check with the school .i hv not availed this facility.there are lot of daycares around m'halli also if u need.
Actually last year I have seen Yashoda lalan palan. We did not like that place. it was in a small 2 BHK. This year I did not check it. But I heard some negative reviews about the daycare. So, I am planning for some other daycare.
Then better look for some other. i am sure there will be many in the surrounding area.
Have you seen any houses there? We dont mind shifting sooner if we find an independent 3 BHK in the nearby good area. But surrounding to school, there are couple of Good apartments, and we do not want to stay in apartment. Let me know if you come across.
I am going to Vagdevi on thursday to see their montessori and transport system.
Lets keep in touch
Even am planning to admit my son in Vagdevi for LKG. I stay in near Kundalahalli gate. There are plenty of apartments and Vagdevi buses ply b4 gates of these apartments..so u can expect late pickup and an early drop :-)..
There is a small day care "OUR KIDS"..my son is attending pre-school here..Its a 5 bed room house i guess..overall parents are happy with the day care..May be you can have a look..
My son got selection on 20th Nov at vagdevi... but got mixed review on the school still now...... as you are going on thursday to look on the transport & other details..will waiting for your detailed review........
I will check out for the flats. thank you for the information.
We liked Karthik nagar, I think it is difficult to get a house there. Yet to finalise the area for shifting the house.
can you give the address and contact details of "OUR KIDS". Actually we are looking for a flat where we can get a good daycare near by. So that it will be easier for us to pick the kid in the evening.
Have heard only good things abt it from parents..specially the feeding part , it seems kids eat better at day care than at home ;)..I ve always found the house and toilets clean and well kept..but u shd find out if its crowded..its definitly not a hi-fi one..a normal home atmosphere..Pls find the address below
OUR's Kids day care and play home, No 4, Green Garden Layout, Shirdi Sai Temple rd,Kundalahalli gate, Munnekola Extn, Blore-37.

Thank you Sree. I will check it out.
on geetanjali the school is a ok school. my nieces are studying there. in 9th and 10th the coaching is good and in lower classes it is little bit lax..but the kids are not stressed. also one good thing /bad thing abt the school is crowd is less.bad in the sense the kids are not exposed to competition in the real world..be it academics or sports.
but if your house is near by, u can look at the school.
thanks easy for ur inputs.much appreciated....im considerg the school only coz its near....i wasnt too happy abt the development fees all schools charge thr....maybe its a ritual there....however school tution fees is quite reasonable as compared to other schools..... even here in mumbai my kid's school is 10 mins walk frm home...so i wanted something similar for her...i was even planning to shift to indiranagar for nps/nhps ...but i hv lost all the enthu and image i had abt these schools...maybe too hyped...
so let us only focus the positives...less crowd= more attention gvn to child...good if the kids are not stressed....and anyways due to syllabus change CCE(Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation) there are hardly any exams ...only project work....i hope CCE is strictly followed by them.....
as far as geetanjali, i think for 10th std they are going for the board exams instead of the continuous evaluation.
try for a year, if you are ok with the school methodology etc. else u can look at shifting may be for 6th std.by that time u would also be familiar with the area and schools.i guess u can negotiate slightly on the dev.fee,my sister got a discount becos' she admitted both her daughters in the school.
did u check on ssb school in indranagar and HAL public school, i was told academically it is good but they do not have a big play ground etc. worth checking out
also would suggest CMRNPS ofcourse expensive than the schools but academically far excellent than the schools mentioned above. it should be closer to your place,it is close to kalyan nagar.hrbr layout
